Dobie Gray, Mountain, and more David Bowie headed to Rocksmith!

September means back to school but it also means back to our regular scheduled bi-weekly Rocksmith DLC!

Next week seems to be all about the 1970s as we unravel the hints posted on Facebook so far…

Reggie Young played on quite a few top selling hits but after careful deliberation over the chords displayed and the guitar break near the end of the song it could only be Dobie Gray’s often covered Drift Away.

Next up is one that all our readers at @TheHeroFeed should remember!

This one really got my hopes up because I was thinking Iron Maiden and for a second thought we were getting this. However this wasn’t the case because it was another reference to that Saturday Night Live sketch everyone loves and therefore was a cowbell joke! A quick look of the tab displayed will just let you know this is indeed Mountain’s Mississippi Queen!

So there you have it! Two hits from the 1970s, and also the FIFTH singles DLC release since June.

Will the streak be broken with Avenged Sevenfold? Be sure to check back tomorrow for the third song reveal!

UPDATE: The third song has been revealed!

This one didn’t take me too long to figure out. It’s the iconic riff from David Bowie’s The Man Who Sold The World!

I hear Kurt Cobain liked this tune…

    1. It's the notion that not paying for the DLC offered will show UbisoftSF that people are displeased with the content being offered.

  1. I absolutely 100% agree with JC. All this purely only 60s 70s is shit and totally biased besides just being plain annoying to my ears. There is so much better Bowie music, too. I'm definitely voting with my wallet yet again on this one. Boycott!

  2. They are clearly using filler. Why should they give you the songs you really want when the stuff that costs them very little still sells because people are buying them in some blind hope that one day Rocksmith will give them what they want? Why should they give you Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath when they can sell you Marvin Gaye What's going on for the same price?

Boycott the lame DLC. Vote with your wallet!

Thanks for letting me share my opinion.

    1. What's going on is excellent on guitar. I can see why it was picked, there's no other song like that in the game. It's excellent for practicing rhythm. It's very funky. And bass is just excellent.

And last week we had the best pack ever, so I'm sure voting with my wallet buying everything again.

    2. Totally true, except for the Marvin Gaye part. This pack is huge waste. David Bowie was a professional Bozo and wrote campy music. We need more David Bowie like we need water on a sinking ship. Furthermore, Dobie Gray is worse than when that lame Blink 182 pack dropped. It embodies the very essence of a song about nothing. Of course Mountain is great pick when you have never heard of Rock Band, otherwise you probably still hear that song in your sleep.
