Rocksmith 2014 comes to Next-Gen in November

Well, looks like 50 people were wrong.

Today Ubisoft announced the release of Rocksmith 2014 for both Xbox One and Playstation 4!

As discovered by @lifelower in our previous article, the DLC will be forward compatible by simply re-downloading through the store marketplace. Congratulations to UbisoftSF on transferring all those licenses!

What follows is the fact sheet directly from the Ubisoft Forums:

Rocksmith 2014 Edition
PlayStation 4 & Xbox One FAQ

When will Rocksmith 2014 Edition be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One?

The release date is November 4 in North America and November 6 in the UK, Europe, and Australia. The physical edition comes with the required Rocksmith Real Tone Cable for a suggested retail price of $79.99. The game will also be released as a digital download, without the Real Tone Cable, for a suggested price of $59.99. Please note the Real Tone Cable is required to play Rocksmith 2014, so if you don’t already have one, you will need to purchase one separately. More on that in a bit.

How many songs are included with Rocksmith 2014 Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One?
Rocksmith 2014 includes 55 songs, plus an additional 10 bonus songs, which are unlockable as you progress through the game and achieve specific goals.
A complete list of all 55 songs that are immediately playable in Rocksmith 2014 is available here. For the move to PS4 and Xbox One, no songs have been added to or deleted from the core game.

Can I import my existing DLC from Xbox 360/PS3?

Yes. You will be able to import any DLC you have purchased within the same console family for no additional charge. That is, any DLC you have purchased on Xbox 360 will be downloadable on Xbox One, and any PlayStation 3 DLC will be downloadable on PlayStation 4. If you own a lot of DLC, this may be time consuming, but you only have to do it once.

I bought the Import Pack to bring most of the songs from the original Rocksmith disc into my Rocksmith 2014 library. Will I still be able to access to those tracks?

Yes. You’ll be able to re-download them as if they were any other DLC in your collection.

If I bought DLC on 360 but I now own a PS4, can I import my DLC across platforms?

No, sorry. You can only import DLC from within the same console “family.”

If I buy DLC on a new console (PS4 or Xbox One), can I also download it for my previous system (PS3 or Xbox 360)?

No, sorry – but it does work the other way around. If you want to own the DLC on both platforms within a console family, you’ll want to buy it on the earlier console, then download it on the newer one.

Will DLC from the original Rocksmith be available for sale on the new consoles?

Yes. All of the DLC released for the original Rocksmith is compatible with Rocksmith 2014 and will be made available for purchase on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you’ve already bought it on your previous console, you can download it on your new console at no additional charge.

Do I need to buy the official Rocksmith Real Tone Cable?

Yes, as you cannot use Rocksmith 2014 Edition without the Real Tone Cable. The physical/retail edition of the game comes with one, and if you would like additional cables (for instance, for multiplayer mode), you can buy additional cables from participating retailers or directly from Ubisoft.

I already own a Real Tone Cable from another edition of the game. Can I use that?

Yes – the cable is universal and will work on any of the six supported platforms – PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and Macintosh. If you already own a Real Tone Cable, you might want to get the digital download edition, which will be priced at $59.99.

What’s new in the PS4 and Xbox One editions of the game?

Both new versions output graphics at 1080p, so the visuals will look nicer if you have a 1080p television set. Additionally, the PlayStation 4 version supports Remote Play via the PlayStation Vita, so you can practice the songs in another room even though you aren’t being tracked or scored.

Can I use the console’s streaming functionality to broadcast my Rocksmith 2014 gameplay?

In some modes, yes. You can broadcast your free-form jams in Session Mode out to the internets as often as you like, show off your skills by streaming Guitarcade games, and hold sonic clinics online in Tone Designer.

(Editors Note: You cannot stream Score Attack or Learn A Song)

I connected my existing console using analog audio outputs,
as recommended. But there are no analog audio outputs on PS4 or Xbox One. What do I do?
We never recommend using only an HDMI connector to play Rocksmith 2014. Instead, we suggest you send the audio signal to an external receiver, speakers, or headphones using a separate cable, and only use HDMI for the video signal. In order of preference, we’d recommend one of these options:

– Connect your optical output jack to a receiver. Both the PS4 and the Xbox One feature optical audio outputs, but you’ll need an optical Toslink cable to use them, not to mention a receiver or headphone system with an optical input.
– If you don’t have an optical connector on your receiver, you can convert the optical signal to an RCA analog signal with an adapter like this one.
– You can also use an HDMI audio converter like this one (which features a 1/8” output jack and includes an RCA adapter cable) or, if you also have need for an HDMI switcher, this one (which features hardwired RCA jacks).

Then, just turn the TV volume down so you don’t hear both.

The main idea is to avoid sending audio to your TV via the HDMI cable directly. Just about any other way you choose to reroute the audio signal before it gets to your TV will likely yield a better experience when you play Rocksmith 2014.

So is 1080p, Remote Play, Forward compatibility and Twitch Streaming of Session Mode reason enough to leave your last-gen console behind? Let us know!

  1. HELP!!

Has anyone else tried getting already purchased 360 content back on the one? I have and its only letting me download I would say 30% of what ive paid for, the rest it seems, it wants me to pay for again?

Hoping its just because it is still new but I have redownloaded the import tool which did nothing, anyone have any tips?

    Thanks,

    Sharpy

  2. Is the frame rate on the newer versions going to be cleaned up for some of the harder songs? My last gen game likes to “hiccup” when there are too many notes on screen, this throws off my timing.

  3. i have Rocksmith and Rocksmith 2014 on pc, I have paid for quite a lot of DLC for both, I also have paid for the import tool to roll all the original Rocksmith songs into my Rocksmith 2014 playlist.

I own a PC and PS4, if I got Rocksmith 2014 on ps4 would I be able access any of the songs I have paid for on PC?

  4. @Elliott…..licensing would make sense if the other songs in the pack were also “buy all or get none” but black Betty and ballroom blitz can be purchased by themselves so it’s a bit odd that this is the only song in the library that has to be purchased within a pack..

  5. I concur with the poster before me…I believe in a thing called love by the darkness is only available if you buy the rock singles pack but not by itself like every other song? Is there an explaination for this?

  6. This is great news! I own the first one on the 360, 1st and second on the PS3 and will get this release on the PS4. Also – thanks for the tip with the optical. Set up my PS4 ready to go!

When are we going to get Little sister by QOTSA or when will they bring back I believe in a thing call love by the Darkeness? I have it on the 360 – but not on the PS3!!! Bring it back so I can D/L!!!!!

    Cheers.

  7. I will probably buy this version because it will probably be the last chance you have to up convert the library of songs you;ve already purchased on your 360 or ps3. I bet the next version of Rocksmith won’t let you go back and get those tracks from the 360 unless they were part of your Rocksmith 2014 next gen library.

Besides the graphics should be better and the x box one overall runs games much smoother than the 360. i will glad update just so I can get rid of my 360….only have it hooked up on HDMI3 because of this game!!!

  8. I honestly don’t know what ppl are crying about it’s a simple release for next gen not the third edition of the game….The sense of entitlement from some of these comments is baffling, rocksmith is made for a specific demographic it’s not wide scale like other games that have been mentioned that are able to offer discounted upgrades based on # of copies sold on last gen consoles…RS1 and 2014 are both fine games but the demographic is limited to ppl who actually have true interest in playing a real guitar and developing life long skill without being beat to death by “theory” and the fact they offer new DLC every single week, regardless if you buy it or not proves they support you as a player just as much as you support them with your pocketbook…I personally won’t go to next gen until a new edition of this game comes out(whenever that may be) and I’m excited to bear witness to the future and evolution of this franchise….Only thing I would ask of the developers is offer larger genre packs(one hit wonders, hair bands, thrash, punk, country, jazz, etc) so a few more obscure artists could make the cut and make it easier to sort DLC in the shop.

  9. Don’t think I will buy it for my xbox one…for a few reasons…why spend another 70.00 on it, I already have it on 360…and #2…I don’t want to have to play all those songs over again to max them out… #3 I can’t remember how many hundreds of songs I have purchased, and if it doesn’t automatically queue them up, then that is many hours to download them once again… no new content makes me wonder why I would spend even more money.

      1. I think Ken is pointing out that you have to individually select each song or pack from download history, currently, when putting the game and dlc on a 2nd XBox 360.

He’s hoping, as I am, that Rocksmith 2014 XBox One will just download all Songs that you already own in one shot.

p.s. Thanks for the Favicon for site!

  10. I Will buy it and rebuy the dlc I liked the most And That’s it because I am sure the nex rocksmith will be next gen only and since I don’t use the same account on Xbox360 and on my Xbox one i’d rather start all over again on my Xbox one.

I wish I could transfer my dlcs via USB but I can easily understand why we can’t. I really wonder how much would it cost to rebuy the whole collection.

  11. I think Rocksmith has a value ten times of its price (well, for me at least) so stop sniveling if you change platform.

  12. I have the original Rocksmith for PS3 and I have RS2014 on PC only. As I understand it, I will be able to transfer the DLC I bought for RS2011 to RS2014 on PS4. My question is: is there a way to transfer the on-disc songs from RS2011 on PS3 to RS2014 on PS4 (that is, without having RS2014 on PS3 with the transfer tool)?

    1. I am not expecting one. If you buy the Import Pack on PS3, then you will be able to get that content on PS4 as well. So assume you will need to have all your PS3 content secured first before you move it to PS4.

If you have PS3 and you want the RS1 on-disc songs, is there any reason you wouldn’t buy the import pack on PS3?

      1. No reason, I just assumed I’d have to have RS2014 on PS3 for the import pack to work. If I can just buy the import pack on PS3 (without having RS2014) and then transfer to the PS4 version, it’s fine.

  13. Id love to upgrade to the PS4 version but im not sure i can justify spending another 60 bucks on the same game.

I would be nice if they did something for PS3 owners of the game like some other companies did, where if you already own the last gen version you can upgrade for a special price. Battlefield and Call of Duty did it for 10 bucks i think. I gladly pay 20 or maybe even 30 but probably not 60 just for better visuals.

  14. ❓ ❓ ❓ ❓
Question! If it is true that when you buy NEW DLC on Xbox One, the License will not go backward to my Xbox 360.

If I buy DLC on XBOX 360 account from the Launch of the XBox One version, do I get on both One and 360?

So I’ll always buy the DLC through XBOX.COM under 360 versions to have both bases covered. In case I go back to 360 at Friends or relative’s house.

      1. Is there a reason for that? I thought Microsoft kept track of what you purchased under your gamertag. Why is it transferrable from the 360 forward but not the other way?

  15. I have to commend ubisoft for listening to there consumers. Personally don.t have or at the moment intend to upgrade my ps3 but know from reading the forums a lot of people have asked for this. The one thing that would entice me to upgrade is a tab option for solos on songs.

    1. that would be a good option, or the option to display the games neck chart completely still. It can be annoying trying to learn the super complex solos as it is currently.

  16. i’m kind of disapointed for no bonus songs or price cut for who already had the game, but i’m buying it, i’m sick of my game freezing on the 360 and also a new 1000 g.

they mentioned it is going to be 1080p, but is it going to be 60 fps?

  17. “The disk content for RS2014 PS4/XBONE is the same BUT I promise the dlc this fall/winter is going to be our best yet! Mega-hits galore.”

Gotta love Paul. This is the kind of comment that builds hype, not deflates it. As long as we don’t start seeing “This song is only compatible with Rocksmith 2014 Edition on PS4 or Xbox One consoles” in a few months, I’m more than happy to just buy DLC.

I know he left a bunch of hints about upcoming DLC earlier this year, but you know if he says something like this we’re in for some good artists. I remember him confirming Dire Straights, anything else we know of for sure?

    1. DLC will continue to be released for all platforms at the same time (barring delays like the ones we’ve seen on PS3 in Europe). We have no plans to release tracks specific to any one platform — why would we piss off all the people who have supported us for the last three years by shutting them out? 🙂

  18. Oh, man… actively telling consumers (and what is likely their most profitable demographic) to keep their old-gen versions if they’re not happy with this port and treating voice control on the PS4 and Smart Glass on the XB1 as exclusive features for their competitive consoles is simply astounding. Why say anything at all if you’re going to give answers like that?

And saying it’s a “dick move” to add some sort of incentive to upgrade, for $60, to a group of individuals on a website who probably spend more on DLC than the average consumer combined is almost insane. Yes, exclusive songs might have upset some people, but there are plenty of workarounds to a scenario like that. Besides, it’s not as if Rocksmith hasn’t done something similar multiple times, through pre-order bonuses or buying the guitar bundle or getting the upgraded bass expansion for EU…

The more I think about this, the more disappointed I am. I’m happy Ubisoft saw fit to release this on the new consoles in the first place and that they’ve managed to get all DLC to transfer over, but that’s really not a reason to purchase the entire thing over again. I hope enough new consumers show an interest in this so Ubisoft doesn’t pull the plug on the whole franchise.

Can we at least get a DLC sale or something before this new edition launches? I mean, I don’t expect RS2014 stuff to get marked down, but drop the old RS DLC to 50% off or something. At least us long-time supporters would feel like you considered us for something (aside from not having us pay for things we already paid for again, of course)

    1. Holy fecal matter. They are being nice and up front about it and being very informative at that, and they are not jerking customers around. People can complain about everything, it seems.

    2. If this version doesn’t offer you something of value, I certainly don’t expect you to buy it — that’s a totally rational decision and I would prefer not to be accused of token, tiny upgrades like a few new songs to “force” people to buy the new version. The perks like 1080p, Remote Play and voice commands are, to me, conveniences that come with the platform. They don’t strike me as dealbreakers and they don’t strike me as strong motivators.

This is a conveniently double-edged sword — I can be the villain if I hard-sell you to upgrade, and now I can be the villain for not hard-selling you to upgrade. Am I supposed to treat you like a wallet from which money should be extracted? I’d rather not, if that’s okay.

This release is an extension of what’s already established, bringing RS2014 to people who don’t already have it. It makes it an option for people who did not previously have the option. If you are a player who is currently satisfied…well, yeah, I would not expect that I have to manufacture a reason for you to upgrade. If it’s something you find more convenient or just want to consolidate your home console collection, go for it. If it’s not worth it to you, that’s cool too.

      1. Dan my thanks to the team for releasing it on the new consoles. I will gladly update to the digital version once the price gets low enough. Can I just ask though, why not do an upgrade deal for owners of last-gen like CoD, Battlefield, Assassins Creed have done for a lower price? It would’ve been a very good way to get your fanbase to upgrade and they would’ve felt glad to do so.

Also, I second having a DLC price drop for older content. Would love to sink my teeth into a few of those packs if their prices were cut. I don’t know how much say or control you have over that but I’m just letting you know we would appreciate it if it could be done 😉

  19. Ubisoft really needs to find a way to import DLC from Xbox 360 to the PS4… I’ve spent over $400 on DLC for this game that will not carry over. Just because MS screwed the pooch and released a shitty console this gen, doesn’t mean I should suffer for choosing the better platform last gen. Argh! Ubisoft, tie all DLC to the uPlay Account and make it happen!

    1. I beg to differ mate. PS4 is certainly an excellent console on its own right, but the Xbox One has better games and better community support. You were probably one of those people who got scared off early on when Microsoft was being run by a braindead monkey who wanted to shackle gamers. That’s no longer the case. Microsoft’s allegiance to gamers right now really shows, and it’s an excellent system.

But yes, you should be able to import all your hard earned DLC regardless of system choice. They should have definitely tied it to your uPlay account since they seem to use it for everything else.

    2. It’s not Ubisoft, it’s Sony and Microsoft databases that do not communicate at all.

There is no game, that I’m aware of, that Cross-Platform DLC/Saves etc between companies.

So Spend the $400 on DLC for a new PS4 or buy an Xbox One and Save $400.
Don’t be the pooch. Both consoles are basically the same spec wise. OS wise, things change and get upgraded over time.

Or just keep the 360 to the side and Jam!

      1. This is exactly it. DLC is sold by different stores, and those different store owners don’t want to make their content cross-compatible or exchangeable. Uplay is not really a factor in this.

If you go to Wal-Mart to return your copy of Assassin’s Creed (not that you would because you all gamers with excellent taste), they don’t accept returns on merchandise with a Target receipt, you know? Doesn’t matter that Ubisoft made the game and shipped it to both stores — you only gave one of those stores your money, so you only have a relationship with one of those stores.

DLC will continue coming out for all six platforms. The earlier editions are not being abandoned; if you’re happy on 360, stay happy on 360.

        1. Seems like there’s a pretty good market there for Ubisoft becoming a storefront. Providing users access to DLC on all platforms and making a profit along the way. Win freaking win.

        2. this supposed to be a reply to dan ( i hope you dont felt it as an attack and if you want to answer free to you its only my opinion maybe shes fu** up)

you’ve just explained it .. it was for money.

ms and sony doesnt really care about user , if , they would maybe they could put everything tranferrable and etc maybe ppl would buy those 2 console instead of battleing for one . ( you’ll might says ) that only for richs …. false they just put the last gen console at under 50% of its prize at start and kept makin $.they put anything new nor get new game on last console even if its gonna be played for the next 10 years…they just want your money like putting this instead of waiting for a 2015 or a 2016 (early years release edition), because it will give the same future as this 1 with new song songs, new backgrounds and/or maybe others. that only says to me ,maybe you ll w8 till 2016-2017- or 2018 for a next rocksmith if theres is a next1 ( or as I wish they tranferred the whole into a multi rhytm game wich included drums and voice( up 2 two back vocal at leat to make chord for some song in any genre ) as feature , where you could play band live againt other on interenet or just make gigs live with other band around the world or in your country probably ppl will like 200 or 300$ for that game ( is created well wich could only be achieved under/with my idea or consent , but as i mention before in my comment maybe i love this too much and want the best and when im seeing this its kinda complex me… and as i had said before maybe im totally wrong , but this feelings inside is rarely wrong, prove it me. ( im not stupid this wont change in 2 weeks )

but again its a money decision if the money goes out of your pockets and doesnt get back in with a plus. they just didnt like to put money in other compagnie that are not them because its loosing money.

certainly they will continue to deliver dlc on all platform . its givin money and as i recall nobody would refusin $$$

      2. GTA V has cross platform support for all your online progress and DLC, as it’s all connected to your rockstar account. I accept Dan’s explanation, as hard as it is to fathom. I really don’t understand the point of the whole U-play thing, is it literally just to piss us off? Because that’s all it seems to do, it’s just an aggravation. As this case shows, it adds nothing useful.

  20. With a more powerful platform it would be nice for them to try to improve the original game’s limitations, such as it only supporting 2 players at a time.

    1. We have a list of ideas for the future, but this was not the time for them. This is intended to simply be the same experience we’ve been offering on other platforms, building on what we have.

  21. Not really interested in getting the same game twice, since I’m keeping my 360 around indefinitely, but it’s really nice to know that DLC can transfer to a new console for whenever the next game comes out if I’ve gotten an Xbone by then.

  22. They’ve literally just done a 1:1 port of the game with no new features or music at all. They expect us to pay $60 for a game we already own? Come on.. 😐

    1. No, they expect people who want to play it on PS4 or XB1 to pay that. People who doesn’t need that don’t have to pay. It’s simple.

    2. We don’t expect it. We’re simply offering it for people who want to change their existing console or have already done so.

You’re under no obligation to get the new version if it’s not the right choice for you. If you like what you have, keep what you have and enjoy it. We’ll continue to support what you bought.

    3. Actually, I think Ubisoft did it just right. This is for people who want to play all of their games on their new console, or maybe got rid of their old ones when they got the new ones. The next-gen version isn’t a replacement of the old versions of Rocksmith 2014, it’s just an alternative. No extra music or features makes sure that everybody, wether they play on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 or Xbox One gets the same game.

      1. Yes I get that. In that case, why not a special deal for those of us who already own the game? Kind of how some other games did it last year when the new consoles came out. You could upgrade them for just 10 bucks.

Destiny which just recently came out had a deal on Xbox where you could buy it for Xbox 360 and also get the Xbox One version for free. If Ubisoft just wanted to get this thing out on new consoles without adding anything to the game, that’s fine, but it would’ve still been nice to get something out of it as longtime fans, like a cheaper way to upgrade.

  23. gives me a bit of hope to see next gen rock band with the transferring of dlc licenses, though there might be a couple more songs to deal with :p

    1. We’ve gotten a lot of feedback from people who sold their PS3 to get a PS4, for instance. For those folks, this is very good news, especially when they find they can reclaim all their existing DLC.

If you’re happy with your current edition, there’s no real need to upgrade; we’re going to keep DLC flowing on all platforms and we’re not taking anything away.

This, like all things, is merely an option.

        1. It is a chore to boot up my 360 I’ll give you that, but for 60 dollars? I think I’ll keep using it. A real upgrade with new game modes or music would’ve sold me on it, but it’s only a straight port unfortunately. I guess part of me was excited thinking it was almost like getting a new game.

Also, I have to respectfully just say that the 1080p thing is pointless to me since it’s not a very visual game. The dreamscapes really don’t add much for me. If they had done venues and had you play shows and theaters and stuff I would’ve been interested in a visual upgrade, but I think those little notes that fly at you look just fine the way they do now.

      1. For you, there isn’t one. That’s fine. You don’t have to defend your decision; other people’s situations are not your situation and they may find this appealing where you do not. No big.

    2. I convinced my friend to buy the 360 version after Rocksmith’s twitter account promoted Amazon selling it for $40 (great price!) a couple days ago. He always likes messing around with it when he comes over, so it was a good purchase.

…until this new version was revealed. He only bought a couple of songs as DLC, but he owns a PS4, not an Xbox One. I feel badly for everyone else in similar situations who sunk money in this after reading Rocksmith’s tweet, really. Those are the real people who need some kind of incentive.

  24. Well, gotta give them credit for listing multiple solutions to the audio output issue, which was my biggest concern. It’s also excellent to see that licensing issues didn’t arise– I didn’t anticipate every song transferring

Still, 1080p and remote play are hardly worthwhile reasons to upgrade in my opinion. I’ve dealt with sub-par resolution for years now, and I can’t ever see myself jamming along to songs on my vita without actually being tracked. That renders the entire experience pointless and I’d sooner load some tabs on my phone.

Some new songs, even a handful of them, would have made this a day one purchase for me. Maybe some new modes or an upgraded session mode or something would have made it worth considering, but I’ll wait till I see it for under $40 on Amazon to bite. I’ll be sure to recommend it to others without last-gen iterations, though.

I really am kind of surprised it’s nothing but a straight port. I was hoping for an entirely new entry, version, or at least some premium version like GH2 on 360. I realize this was probably all they were budgeted for, so I’ll just be happy they’re bringing it over at all.

    1. Remember how angry people were when Europe/PC got Bass “for free” multiply that by like 1000 and that’s how it would be if PS4/XB1 got exclusive songs.

      1. I disagree with that. Instead of “exclusive” songs they should just include new songs in the game and release them simultaneously as DLC so last-gen users can still have the option of purchasing them.

People are going to be a little chafed having to buy a game they already own without new content. Take a look at GTAV which is making it’s current-gen release in November as well. The amount of things they’ve upgraded in their game from last-gen is astounding. Visually it looks like a whole new game. They’ve added new weapons, vehicles, clothes, etc etc just mass amounts of new content. And guess what.. they’ve even added 100+ new songs on their radio. Rockstar went very far out of their way to include bonus content in the re-release of the game.

Rocksmith on the other hand has made no effort there. So yeah, we’re a little annoyed, and rightfully so. We support this game week after week with DLC. We are the lifeblood of the game. And they couldn’t go out of their way even a little bit to appease us? Makes me feel cheap, like I never really mattered to them.

        1. Yeah, don’t really see your logic. People wanted the game on Xbox One and PS4. Wish granted. If you don’t want to play the game on Next-Gen then don’t buy it.

        2. All they did was add two new platforms. This is not Rocksmith 2015, so existing users on 360/Ps3/Steam need not feel left out–this was just allowing people who ditched the previous console versions to play as well… Simple stuff, and a good move by Ubi.

        1. When this game started development, the Kinect was part of every Xbox One bundle, and the PS4 camera was not. Voice commands could be relied on to be part of every Xbox One user’s experience, but not part of PS4’s user experience. So it was implemented where it was most likely to get used. It’s That’s not to say that it might not be added in the future, but it won’t be there on PS4 at launch.

Similarly, SmartGlass is not supported on Xbox One at launch, but Remote Play on PS Vita is. Each platform gets something and each platform is “missing” something in terms of platform-specific functionality. MS is not paying us to leave out voice commands on PS4 and Sony is not paying us to leave out SmartGlass support.

Can I soapbox a moment here? I think it’s time to move beyond these emotional reactions to what are often very logical business or development systems. We’re balancing priorities with a finite amount of time, money, and labor on this end. You’re reacting to those priorities as if you are being abused, denied — that a judgment is being made about your platform and therefore your personal support of that platform. But that’s not the case at all — and it’s really gotten beyond ridiculous to see these allegations and assumptions bandied about when you could simply ASK THE REASON for the decision.

So please stop this conspiratorial silliness. Your request is noted and we’ll see what the future brings. In the meantime, YOU ARE LOVED.

          1. LOL You should make it Free-To-Play and just include RS2011 Theme song free. Then they have to farm the Song on Rhythm only until they get 90%… or buy Gems to open up Lead… then Bass. Gems could buy other songs later or effects…
            LOL!!! Just Kidding! Shutting up!

            p.s. Keep Rocking!

            1. certain i could be kinda mad ,, ppl we are paying for this and the song doesnt reflect whats being request if yes then this is the proof that rock , rock n roll , metal are simply coming to an end

maybe i doesnt like the guitar the same way as a majority of you, maybe the game couldn endure having the song that i want , nor technique like fingerpicking they are under 5 songs and this technique is in every decade you could find it same as solo ( more techniques would be appreciate instead of bare chord or power chord) **.. they didnt really put solo song on rocksmith …. you’ll says yes maiden , priest , avenged ….ok but remember theyre cheap and will put every song they already bought and put in game before rocksmith , so its much always radio song of the bands , and those band they could put other songs for them that the band would had let for no big money cause they never played radio. maybe they already have those rights and just put them to save money and says hey that your song you requested…

i just felt after rocksmith started the second batch of dlc , it was in the mind of money and that all

for sure some cool dlc will come near cause its been 2 or 3 month since something tangible ( some of bachsmith not all , if you want to play a song in some style take the artist and dont scrap anything anymore please… but why am i asking i am a number that brings money..) yes they threw 2 – 3 song in the month but the rest was marketing

you could varies dlc but making a 2 or 3 team that would bring up different style would pleased alot more than just putting the same kind of artist during 2 – 3 weeks or the same patters of style every 3-4 weeks

i dont believe one way that this game missed money , there s a reason why this game isnt much better why i dont know maybe i m not in the team to carve it like the way i want it

and maybe again i might be totally wrong and outa space but…its kinda feels like

    1. How do you imagine it working? I’m just curious to see what other people think of it, because I can’t see it being a valuable use of remote play without being able to track notes.

      1. If you get kicked off the main TV but still want to practice the note chart, I think that’s the value. It was one of those “hey, we can do this, we can see where some people would want to use that, so let’s do it” things. Most people will likely play the traditional way, but I am curious to see if people take to this as well.

      2. Often when I’m trying to learn a difficult section I prefer to just see the notes and play them one by one, slowly, instead of using riff repeater. The slowest setting in RR is not slow enough for really fast parts, and for me playing note by note really slow helps me memorize the section.

So I often use riff repeater to show me the notes as slow as possible and don’t play a note. I think that’s exactly how the remote play works, and it also means I can see the notes even if I’m not at the TV. So I think it’ll be very useful for me.

      1. It would not have been a dick move if you had just released those extra songs as DLC. When RS2014 was first released there was some bundle version of it that included 5 or so bonus songs. You guys released those songs as DLC to the rest of us and I actually bought a few of them. I was perfectly happy with that option. Why not do the same thing here? If we didn’t feel like spending another 60 or 80 bucks on the game we could just buy the DLC versions of the extra songs.

That would be a win-win, not a dick move. I think a dick move is expecting your fans to buy the game all over again with nothing new in it. I’m not trying to sound bitter or anything but I feel like you’re not showing your appreciation for the fans that supported this game from day one and made it what it is today.

        1. you should have released new console version with exclusive Metallica tracks only available to those who buy ps4 and xbone. Your investors would love you and all those metallica whiners would hate you so a win win

        2. New DLC will come out for everybody all at the same time. If you want the latest songs, you can buy them on whatever platform you like. When the new versions launch, they will have all previous DLC as well.

To your point — does it really help to include a song on the disc that they might not want if we can just release that DLC to everyone with the option to choose? Doesn’t seem like it’s worth the trouble, especially if it’s the same gameplay experience, just on a new platform.

When I support something and it expands, I don’t want to think that someone else is getting more than I am getting if I was there at the start. So if we’d put extra songs on the disc and then released it as DLC, we’d get complaints that the new people were getting stuff free that we asked the “true fans” to pay for.

I’d like to sidestep that headache and be able to easily say “it’s the same expereence no matter where you’d like to try it.”

    1. same here. I’ll wait for a while, see if I end up getting an xbone as well as the ps4. When it has enough exclusives I might, but I’m keeping my 360 to play skate 2 and 3 on as well, so I’m happy to keep playing rocksmith on it. I’ll upgrade eventually I’m sure, but I’m in no hurry.

        1. Same bro. I do occasionally fire up the 360 to download my 2 monthly free games from MS but other than that it’s only there to play Rocksmith. Looks like I’m gonna have to keep using it a little longer. No reason to switch over just yet.
