Rocksmith 2014 DLC 10/28 – The Killers

Greetings Rocksmith fans!

Take a break from scrambling to buy that Sexy John Oliver costume, and check out the five pack from this week’s Rocksmith 2014 artist, The Killers!

BEWARE 4/5 of this week’s tracks are in Eb Standard. If you don’t like tuning down this might be a skippable week for you. Guitar is filled with arpeggios and inverse chord structures but bass is just filled with pure joy, especially the bass solo on Spaceman!

  1. Another great choice by the team. These songs and the guitaring in them are perfect examples of how a stringed instrument can stare down a difficult period for rock and give electronica the middle finger. I’ll take the lot!

  2. week 7, still nothing to challenge my bass skills, and nothing I have even liked, aside from the Dio track last week. Maybe next week. I’m not expecting anything anymore to be honest. Then it will be all the more pleasing when something I do like comes along. I know they can’t please all the people all the time. I’m off to play Space Oddity again. That is what i consider a challenging, fun, and beautiful bass part, and the kind of thing I would like to see more of. For those happy with this pack, I hope you have fun!

  3. “bass is just filled with pure joy”

ha well was going to pass but with that accolade… that’s more money you’ve earnt them.

  4. I would’ve loved to have seen “Jenny was a friend…” “Smile like you mean it” and “On Top” in the pack but I think they’ve done a decent job with this one. Anything is a step up from the white stripes pack.

  5. Was hoping for Read My Mind and All These Things I Have Done. RMM probably too long keyboard intro before the big guitar solo finish.

  6. Not bad but I bet next week might be big to coincide with next gen console release. It would be nice to get a Tom petty pack or nirvana pack

    1. For those who are interested:

In addition to last week’s DLC, some other bands/songs available in Eb include Rise Against, Alice In Chains, Weezer, AFI, and Smashing Pumpkins.

Additionally, bands/songs available in Eb Drop D include Biffy Clyro, Deftones, System of a Down, Disturbed, and Shinedown.

  7. The main one I was hoping for was “All These Things That I’ve Done.” Sure, the songs they did do are decent, but… still a let down. :/

I agree with Joe completely… even though “Read My Mind” would have played slower, it’s still a better song, and one I’d actually enjoy playing outside of the game.

  8. Love that we got a five pack of The Killers, but I would have replaced “Spaceman” and “Somebody Told Me” with “All These Things That I’ve Done” and “Read My Mind.” I’m still delighted that we finally got The Killers in Rocksmith.

  9. I don’t know who you are, but if you don’t buy this DLC, I will find you, and I will kill you.

    Thanks, Liam Neeson.

  10. Somebody Told Me has some nice bass. Will grab that one. Was hoping for Jenny Was A Friend since that was the most badass song I have heard from them. The others are ok. Seems many folks are happy so that’s cool I got introduced to a band I never heard of that has a few really cool songs.

  11. Not a big fan of Eb tuning, but… hey, at least while I’m there I’ll have more songs to play. Between last week’s and this week’s DLC, that’s a LOT of new songs tuned that way.
