Rocksmith 2014 DLC 1/13/2015 – Soundgarden

Hello Rocksmith fans!

They may not be a Top 40 Requested artist, but they’re definitely not far off, this week’s DLC is a five pack from @Soundgarden!

Featuring songs from Badmotorfinger (Jesus Christ Pose), Superunknown (Black Hole Sun, Fell On Black Days, Spoonman), and Down on the Upside (Pretty Noose) this will surely be a welcome addition to the Rocksmith 2014 library!

Only downer about this DLC release is that five songs is just not enough!

Soundgarden Song Pack – $11.99 / Steam

Have fun with that bass line in Jesus Christ Pose!

  1. I would love to buy this but I own a PS3 and live in EU (double-whammy). We haven’t had any new DLC for months, going back to Bon Jovi, new Foo Fighters (although bizarrely they managed to release the Hendrix pack). Is this ever going to get resolved?

    1. I hear that! f*cking ridiculous state of affairs. This week they’ve released Soundgarden and Linking Park DLC in EU — But only for the PS4!

  2. This was onf of,if not my first request way back in November of 2013. Buying the whole Damn thing! Haters gonna hate.

  3. Not crazy about the choices but I might snag Jesus Christ Pose and possibly Fell on Black Days just so I can learn the real way to play it (ie. Not from a YouTube video). I was pretty excited to see Pretty Noose up there until I saw the tuning…yikes! My guitar takes any tuning I can throw at it but still, I can’t be bothered 1/2 the time and that’s why I only visit the D-standard songs about twice a year, play them a few times each and then say “Well, that was fun. See ya in six months eh!”. I’m sure the old guitar gently weeps about it every time *sniff*. It’s a burden in my hand, I tell ya.

  4. I haven’t really listen to Soundgarden since the 90’s, but I’m happily surprised about the songs, they sound great, and are fun to play…
I’m really impatient to be able to buy all the dlc I’m waiting for, on ps3 in EU.

And, yeah for custom tunings!! It gives interesting sounds, and different way to play..
and it gives me hopes for the long awaited (IMO) Sonic Youth pack!

      1. That’s the only one I was wanting. The other songs are okay, but not my cup of tea. I spent too much on DLC last year on songs that I’m not playing that much, so this year I need to be picky.

  5. Looks like Rock Band 3 is going to release dlc today as well
And sadly this week for Rocksmith
    I won’t be buying songs
but I will buy the new songs for Rock Band 3
    as I don’t know Soundgarden

    1. They’re still releasing DLC for Rock Band? I never played it, but I noticed that there is some version or mode that shows actually guitar tab-like notes? I’d be interested in checking that out, just to get more songs – I saw Santa Monica on Youtube, and I learned it from that. Does the Beatles Rock Band have something similar?

    2. Looks like Rocksmith is going to release Soundgarden dlc today
And sadly for Rock Band 3 users
They have no idea how to play a real instrument since
the “instrument” in the game is a plastic toy.
It’s the blow up doll to Rocksmith’s hot babe.

      1. I play Rocksmith as-well
What do you think would of made me find this game
        and it has pro mode
        check before you post
I would of never played a real guitar
        or listen to good music

          1. Yes I will
it should help with my hands getting better
also guitar hero showed me that I can do pull offs on a real guitar

      2. Not true, the big thing about Rock Band 3 was it was the first rhythm game that let you play a real guitar along with other people on button controllers or people on other real instruments. No other real guitar game lets you play in a band simulation like Rock Band 3. It was the first and still best – if you already know how to play guitar and read real guitar tabs. Rocksmith isn’t a band simulator and never will be playable online like that.

          1. Does anyone think that if rb4 comes out will it support real guitars? I’m sure harmonix noticed the success of rocksmith. and who knows maybe even took an interest in the remains of bandfuse.

            1. That would be cool to use the Rocksmith cable on Rock Band
              if they can do vocals
then I’m sure they could do the guitar cable

  6. I was hoping for “Burden in My Hand”, “Rusty Cage”, and “My Wave”. I need you to help me understand why these songs were not included. Thank you.

  7. The upload for Black Hole Sun is actually Spoonman’s track. Hoping to see Black Hole Sun’s video uploaded soon!

  8. The pack is an epic fail…

    No…

    My Wave
    Superunknown
    Blow Up The Outside World
    Let Me Drown
    By Crooked Steps

    Fail….

Pretty Noose isn’t worth the crazy tuning either.

I hope these songs are considered for a 2nd Soundgarden Pack.

    1. I second that thought…

      Soundgarden pack 2:

      Blow Up The Outside World
The Day I Tried To Live
      Hands All Over
      Live To Rise
      Let Me Drown

  9. Pretty good selection but black hole sun could have been left out sort of dull. Surprised by Jesus Christ pose since it’s not exactly a radio song but that’s what was cool about nineties dissonant music actually could be mainstream
