Rocksmith 2014 DLC 5/26/2015 – Love Singles Song Pack

Hello Rocksmith fans!

With perhaps the vaguest clue towards DLC in Rocksmith history we have two returning artists and one brand new one headed to the ever expanding Rocksmith 2014 DLC library!

Yup, @SquirrellyNinja was definitely right about that, although @pcgamingisted was bang on with The Cure’s Friday I’m in Love.

Nice work Paul, didn’t even take you a year!

What about the other two songs? Well one is a favourite Guitar Hero III DLC (as well on Guitar Hero Arcade if you are a masochist), For The Love of God by Steve Vai! This one should give those expert guitarists the challenge they need.

Good luck with this one…

Rounding off the pack is another song from Bill Withers, although this one is far more active than the emotional and soulful Ain’t No Sunshine, it’s Lovely Day!

  1. I’ll download the black keys, audioslave, or some allman brothers whipping post instead… This pack isn’t with the $8

    1. I tend to agree. I could scarcely be more ambivalent than I am this week. Sigh. Looks like plenty of people do like it though, so there’s that.

  2. I hadn’t even played the song I bought the pack for yet (Friday I’m in love) and half way through playing “For the love of god” I’m thinking I LOVE this pack!! Thank you for making my week Rocksmith.

  3. Any news on when the pack and not just the singles will be available on steam? Was looking forward to this pack, but wasn’t looking forward to buying the songs individually.

  4. How does another guitar game get groups like:.. Metallica, social distortion ,stevie Ray Vaughn black sabbath ,guns and roses, and Motley Crüe .. When rocksmith is a far superior game and learning tool…and we get Stevie vai.. Who hasn’t done anything .. Actually none of these groups in love songs has in at least 10 yrs..

    1. Man, Steve Vai is amazing. Check out his solo work, work he did with David Lee Roth on his first solo albums, and more. He is probably Joe Satriani’s top student and hasn’t been on G3 tours for nothing!

    2. I wouldn’t rule out Motley Crue, Black Sabbath, or SRV entirely. All three are quite possible for Rocksmith to license, it’s only a matter of time.

After all, we did get Bon Jovi, Jimi Hendrix, and Rage Against the Machine last year.

    3. All licensing issues. Activision definitely paid a F ton of money to have an exclusivity clause in their contract, and Metallica have shown they’re perfectly willing to sell themselves to the highest bidder, or just chase whatever profits there are. Remember napster?

    4. You’d be wrong about Steve Vai as he released an album in 2012, “The Story of Light”. I for one am wishing for more Steve Vai. I can basically already play For the Love of God, but I’m not surprised it was the 1st choice to make it to Rocksmith.

  5. Not my bag, but I’m happy to see the selection. So tired of hearing the couple of whiny babies cry about too much metal. Although I’ll probably buy the Cure tune some night when I’m drunked up and feeling nostalgic. Enjoy!

  6. Now we need Yngwie Malmsteen and John Petrucci and we to have all G3 guitarists. And yes I have requested them using the app.

    1. Does John Petrucci do solo work? I haven’t heard any if he has some. I’d love to see Black Star on RS though. Definitely some Dream Theater if possible. What have you suggested?

      1. I forget the title of his album, but he has done solo work. There is also the Liquid Tension Experiment, which is instrumental Dream Theater by a few of the guys.

  7. From slayer to the cure???… Looks like I’ll just download the black keys because these 3 songs give me the …zzzzzzzz… Very disappointed

  8. All great tracks from great artists. Excited about the Cure track because I love The Cure and was missing this one. Bill Withers is a show in. Very happy about the Steve Vai track, I am always happy when RS puts out another instrumental track, especially when they are so technically difficult. Hope that soon we can look forward to more instrumental tracks. Bachsmith, Sweet Dreams, For the Love of God, Surf Rock Song Pack, Hide Away, all wonderful! Absolutely cant wait for “Sleep Walk” by Santo and Johnny to join the list. Help with the requests and vote with your dollars! Keep guitar instrumentals alive!

  9. When I looked at the Steve Vai picture I said.

For The Love Of God, But out of the songs that is the only song I know.

  10. Self congratulations for getting one of the songs correct. Lovely Day was so close to edging out Love Rollercoaster in my guesses but I was just going off past game experiences – very happy to see it in! Can’t wait for later

  11. ahhh… yes.. and no…. I requested Vai last year. One track… ok, but does this mean we WILL get a Vai pack, or we WON’T get a Vai Pack? Still in that same state over Motorhead and Extreme. I do love that track though so I’ll buy it. But yeah, I worry that when we get one single it means we aren’t getting a pack.

  12. It’s hilarious when an outstanding bass song is released how the guitarists get all bent out of shape. That said, there’s about 500 better soul/R&B/funk/disco bass songs out there, and it’s pretty lame that since Ubisoft releases about 2 of these type songs a year, that they chose this particular one. There really can’t be many people using the app requesting Bill Withers songs (although I admit I did request Ain’t No Sunshine).

  13. Wowza. That Vai song has been on my playlists for several years, but only in my wildest dreams could I play that (or anything by Satch haha).

    Enjoy, everyone!

    1. Amen. Was hoping for at least Radar Love. Play on any enjoy, those of you who like this pack. Me, not so much.

  14. I don’t know why I bother guessing songs when I’m never even close. Cool pack though! Enjoy the variety and like all the songs. Will probably just get Vai. Can’t wait to get started on For The Love Of God. That was always one of my favorites of his. It’ll be nice to play an expert guitarist song that’s somewhat doable and won’t completely destroy my confidence like Satch Boogie or Cliffs of Dover.

Wish I could do pinch harmonics better and had a whammy bar…

  15. Definitely getting the Steve Vai tune. I’ve always been really irritated by the Bill Withers song, I find the repetitive chorus to be annoying. I might get The Cure song, but it will probably be a wishlist song until it goes on sale.

  16. Dammit, Steve Vai just makes me think Devin Townsend, and that makes me sad we’ll never get any Dev in RS.

In for the Cure song probably.

  17. Great additions to the game but not stuff i see myself playing much. Mostly cause steve vai is way out of my league and I’m not crazy for bill withers and i didn’t know the cure song. I’ll get the cure one later at some point maybe if any. Was really hoping for i love rock and roll though!
