Rocksmith Unveils Huge Chunk of Setlist

We know you’re all just here for the Hero, but as we did with Power Gig (not that we want to curse Ubisoft by drawing comparisons to that atrocity), we’re featuring news for any instrument-based game that doesn’t fall under the magical umbrella of our pals over at RockBandAide.

Recently, we’ve been bringing you some news here and there about Ubisoft’s Rocksmith, which works with your current electric guitar, meaning you don’t have to go buy new plastic or “Pro” instruments in order to enjoy it to the fullest. If you don’t have a real guitar, however, then the game might end up being pricier than your typical Guitar Hero or Rock Band title.

Today, Ubisoft and the Rocksmith team revealed a huge list of tracks that will be appearing in the upcoming game. To be honest, the game features a decent amount of tracks that have appeared in an instrument-based game previously, but hopefully the game will utilize them in entirely new ways thanks to the reportedly intuitive instrument teaching mechanics. Even so, it seems as though Ubisoft went out of their way in some instances to get songs that haven’t yet appeared on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, such as The Pixies ”Where is My Mind” or Radiohead’s “High and Dry”

Check out the full list of what we know so far and let us know in the comments what you think about the setlist so far.

  1. @Brian

But let me tell you something dude how can you tolerate someone who would reply to you like that? did you see what he replied to me? the guy is an obvious jerk…I can't tolerate people like MR. Dan Bolivar, people like him tick me off….

  2. this wont do! we need to be able to put on the songs we like not songs some dude thinks ill like! i only have one of em songs on my ipod and thats the pixies! and some acoustic songs as well! what do u think about that!?

  3. Hope they get Zeppelin. They have been tight lipped about it, but I did hear that they were talking to Robert and Jimmy about including a song.

    1. Nah Zeppelin wont happen, I mean I'm just as eager as you to see Led Zep in a music game but, Jimmy Page said so himself that he hates Guitar Hero and Rock Band and does not want to see his music in these games. So we would have to wait until his whole band dies, horrid thing for me to say but it's true, I'm sure Kurt Kobaine would have hated these games with his very soul himself but he is not around now is he?

  4. Where's Metallica?! Im lookin for songs they didnt put in Gh:Metallica like Harvester of Sorrow or The Four Horsemen i could go on for days with songs that should have been in that game!

  5. I don't know most of the songs but after listening to the set list the guitar parts are interest. Alot are worth learning so I think they did a good job at picking the songs.

  6. Great setlist but i was hoping for some metal like Metallica or Dark Tranquillity :/ Hope they make expansions, I'd buy them!

  7. I like maybe 20% of these songs and i havent heard of alot of them and i have heard why. They arent that great. I like the concept of the game but Really need to work more on this playlist. I am no where impressed with most of the choices. and i do play guitar..sort of lol

  9. Not really liking the setlist so far. Some good songs, but most of what I see here that I like we already have in RB or GH (granted, not many of them with pro). Doesn't seem all that diverse either. Lots of artists with two songs, and I hate to be "that guy," but this setlist really does need at least a few metal tracks. I'm not one of those guys who complains about lack of metal or thinks WoR had the best setlist EVAR (I'm a metalhead and even I think they went overboard), but seriously.

Also WTF CREAM AND SOUNDGARDEN? So much for exclusivity contracts. Not gonna lie, kind of pisses me off that we missed out on Spoonman and Black Hole Sun for RB3 and here we are barely half a year later and Soundgarden is already signing deals with other games.

  10. yeah, I am not really feeling the setlist as well. A few good ones in there, but nothing that is making this a buy before the bargin bin.

      1. They MUST be saving SOME of the best till last!! hmmm… Muse HAVE to be on there somewhere…

  11. Meh, setlist is pretty bad to me. Just a few songs that I actually like so far, but I won't be buying the game anyway.

  12. I know this game is meant for real instrument play, can you still use your old plastic toy guitars for it too?…..I don't have a real guitar or real bas guitar, all I have are toy guitars, I'm just wondering if they would still work for the game

      1. hmm well that's cool and all….but even if its using a real guitar, it's still considered a game regardless of how you see it…it's kind of a fail not to include the toy guitars to work, hey I got no problem with it but I can see people having a problem with that though, because people don't want to have to buy an instrument, because they still have their old plastic guitars to play with….but then again like you said this is a teaching game, so that's true it shouldn't use guitar hero or rock band guitars….i might not see alot of people buying this if it doesnt support old toy guitars i'm just pointing that out

        1. Are you out of your mind??? NOT SEE people buying it? Sure not the MORONS that think guitar playing consists of little stupid colored buttons on a piece of plastic. The same IDIOTS that make and post videos of themselves being "GUITAR HEROES" on Youtube, they may not buy it because they lack the devotion to MAKE it happen instead of MAKING BELIEVE it's happening while they strum away on those doohickeys and later compare it to an actual instrument!

Your statement is THE MOST, utterly ridiculous comment I've ever had the roll on the floor laughing experience in reading!

It's just a game? NO, it's not just a game when at the end on a level completion you've LEARNED A FREAKING SONG and can play it on a REAL GUITAR!

Aside from the fact that to a guitarist, playing guitar is a lot more fun than making believe you are!

          1. OHHHHHHH, gee do I feel buuurrrnnneeed, whoa you got me on that one, HELP! I need to go to the hospital right now…(sarcasm)

you know not everyone wants to play a real guitar and no one really actually cares as much, The Hero Feed is only posting news about Rocksmith becasue GH is down, if it ever comes back goodbye Rocksmith we don't care for you anymore, simple as that. I certainly do not compare this to a real guitar ok you dumbfuck you're just being a fucking dick. I enjoy playing with the guitar hero toy guitars and if you have a problem with that well tough luck, you're only bitching because you probably suck ass at the RB or GH games, they may be colored buttons to you but people like playing with it, you would probably enjoy it too if you were actually any good at the game. You know why people play these games? oh gee it's one very simple word, it's called: FUN? not that you understand the difference but why bother trying to explain it to a retard. You can go ahead and keep playing with your real guitar no one really gives a crap, and I was right btw sales sucked, I know cause I check sales and rocksmith isn't doing too good, so suck on that you little pussy prick

          2. @Leonardo Shorti

I've warned you before and this is the last time I will do so:

          3. You said it, brother… +1
I can't believe anyone would say that RockSmith is a fail…because it doesnt support plastic toys as a usable instrument. Wow… I can't believe that guy's comment. Wow.. can't believe it. You're awesome. ha. GodSpeed.
