Song Speculation: Brad Paisley checks himself into Rocksmith

Hello Rocksmith fans!

Another Friday, another clue to solve, another brand new artist joins the Rocksmith library! Let’s see how it went down this time…

An ice hockey clue? What a time for our resident Canadian to be on holiday

With the .gif solved and the .jpg decoded, a search of the quote leads to a very specific website

Checking for ticks, huh? That’s not a theme often sung about…but wait!

It’s only Brad “I’d like to check you for ticks” Paisley!

Previously released as DLC for Guitar Hero: World Tour, Brad Paisley’s Ticks, is the first revealed track in the THREE song pack!

In addition to Guitar Hero @BradPaisley has been featured in Rock Band in both DLC and the Rock Band 4 setlist!

Would be a good way to get @KeithUrban as well!

What could the other two countrylicious songs be?

What follows is speculation

A guitar driven duet with a potential future Rocksmith addition?

Impress your lady with these sweet lyrics and even sweeter solo

The cause of, and solution to all of life’s problems

I’m sure some of us can relate to this

?

Are you excited for some modern country-shred? Or does country music = an instant skip week for you? Let us know!

  1. I’m not personally interested, but I’m very happy to see this. I want everybody to have a chance to play their favorites. If every week had DLC I wanted (and most do, anyway) I’d be out a minimum of $420 a year. So I’m cool with skipping some weeks, and even a country-music outsider like me knows this guy is hugely popular. Let the fans enjoy without raising a stink. And hopefully his fans don’t whine if I finally get my Depeche Mode song pack hahaha

    1. I’d take a 5 pack of just playing the angel tracks. That came out the same year as NIN released with(out) teeth. DM out Reznored NIN that year. Only time I’ve seen or heard that happen.

    2. Glad to see a post like this. It’s cool to skip weeks and I understand what you mean by favorable packs coming out each week. In fact, something like what you fear happened to me last year. It was the first (an remains the only) year where every month there was at least 1 pack (sometimes only 1 pack) that I couldn’t resist. The fact that there hasn’t been much that I’ve wanted this year is actually a good thing. The wallet is pleased.

On the flip-side some of the styles we see this year, aren’t often represented in the game. (country and pop among the biggest and finally a little jazz.) For my tastes, I doubt Ubisoft will top 2017. (actually hope they don’t try). Its nice to see everyone…well almost everyone… get some love. (Still missing some ol’ delta blues, gospel, and the one hanging largely now, as it’s been a while……..FUNK).

  2. Glad to see this pack, but I’d rather get “Mud on the Tires” than “Ticks”. They are exactly the same story, but with different words. Maybe we’ll get both? Throw in “Start a Band” for the 3rd song and we’ve got a winner pack. 🙂

  3. Him & Keith Urban probably the closest to the country Van Halen’s as you are going to get. both of them really know how to play. I’m happy to see this pack I haven’t been getting anything for a while or playing for that matter. I may just have to get the guitar out an play some and get this.

  4. This is excellent news! I’m not a “huge” Brad Paisley fan but I like to see that modern country is getting some attention. I hope to see a bunch more to come. There’s a lot of good country music out there that a lot of people would enjoy to learn. Keep the country comin!

  5. I’m psyched for the people into this pack but personally modern country isn’t my thing. But I will say, isn’t this the first country pack from a single artist? I know there has been a country variety pack and that one 4th of July pack had a song but is that really it? I’m just surprised.

      1. The one thing we can all agree on is Rocksmith continues to pump out artists and tracks to the point we forget what artists we have. Although some weeks I complain (especially this year), I appreciate those guys hard work and am amazed with the dearth of songs I have and the amount of time I still use the system. In my case, I have practically become a spoiled brat, where I expect Led Zeppelin every week..

  6. No idea who this is but warming up to country tunes, give me more Shania Twain or ideally a Lady Antebellum pack please and thank you ?

  7. Not particularly interested myself, but I definitely think we were overdue for songs from him or some modern country artists like him. Even not being very into country music I’ve gotta respect a lot of that guitar work.

      1. Tom petty said it best, country bands these days are just bad rock bands with fiddles. Certainly the polite way to put it. I will not be buying this pack.

  8. Well it’s about time. This is Country, time to Play. I’ve been waiting on a pack from, as Guitar One magazine once stated, “Eddie Van Halen on Cornbread. Really wish this were at least 5 songs, but will take what we can get. Anything from the following list would be great.

    Eastwood*
    Cliffs of Rock City*
    Old Alabama*
    Camouflage*
    Alcohol*
    Me Neither
    Mud on the Tires
    The World
    Cluster Pluck
Let the Good TImes Roll (featuring Sir Riley B King)
    I’ll take you back
even his version of What A Friend We Have In Jesus is good.
Been nearly a year since I’ve said the “I”-word as soon as a pack got announce. In the mean time, both my wallet, and the old DLC still begging for attention have been thankful. Guess that’s been Time Well Wasted.

    1. Eddie Van Halen?! Whoever wrote that article must have been “hanging out” a bit too late backstage. Dude has a few snappy licks, but I wouldn’t even put him close to a Mark Knopfler.

      1. As a big fan of every incarnation of Van Halen, and a fan of EVH’s playing (as a man he comes off as a bit of bum) I would not actually give Brad that title either; however, it’s a good hook to get you to read the article. (Hendrix, Page, EVH, Dimebag, and SRV are among the most popular names used to sell mags) I believe the comparison is focused mostly on the speed aspect. If anyone in country could be compared to EVH, Brad would be the guy. (of course I don’t listen to a whole lot of country, so from an outsider’s view, I can only guess that statement is correct.)

For me Brad, is closer to John Mayer than anyone else. He’s often very crafty with his approach to lyrics (listen to Me Neither as a brief example) and his playing bounces back and forth between very heartfelt to just plain fast.

        1. Fair enough! I am not a country fan myself, but if I had to pick one country guitarist who really blew me away was Vince Gill. Once again, check out his work on Crossroads-the very same concert where Mayer killed it with “Gravity” I will definitely buy this pack, regardless.

          1. Agreed. I have all the Crossroads festivals done since 2004. Love everyone of them. I knew of Vince Gill but had never heard him until that ’04 concert. Was impressed, and fully understand why he got invited back each year, among others. (Side note: I read somewhere that EVH was invited and declined. Just one of many elements that feed into my earlier statement)
