Song Speculation: Funkadelic brings 70s instrumental epic to Rocksmith

Rocksmith is pregnant for the third time…

Yes, no meme here! I was granted the honour of revealing the first track of the 70s Mix V pack was indeed Funkadelic’s 10:23 instrumental masterpiece Maggot Brain (1971).

I had to rise above it all

What other TWO songs might join one of the best guitar solos of all time?

What follows is speculation

We consider architecture?

Maybe it’s time for another song from CCR?

How about one for @pcgamingisted as well?

Can everyone go ahead and request this one?

Are you excited to finally tackle Maggot Brain? Or is it a bit too psychedelic for your tastes? Let us know!

  1. Well the Hollies doing Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress is probably as close to CCR without being them. Elliot wasn’t to far off.

  2. So this means Cornbugs, Pigmy Love Circus and Colonel Claypool’s Bucket of Bernie Brains are getting packs next right? Sorry temporarly delusional after seeing the improbable to possibly impossible happen.

  3. “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” is certainly one of my favourite CCR songs (right up there with “Up Around The Bend”) and I wouldn’t mind another CCR song.

A curveball which is highly unlikely (because not well known in the US) would be Status Quo’s “Roll Over Lay Down” from their 1973 album “Hello!” which would be a treat for all lead, rhythm, and bass players out there.

  4. It’ll never happen, but I’d love it if it included some of The Jam…maybe “This Is The Modern World”?

But, I’ll settle for some sweet Talking Heads!

  5. As having watched the band play live recently, I was hoping for this song to finally appear. As for the other songs, I’m going to throw in Rambling Man by Allman Bros and Overkill by Motörhead

  6. Awesome. I call it that this pack will also have Stairway to Heaven and Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts I – IX for a epic runtime. Totally reasonable of me to expect forty minutes of music this week.

  7. THIS IS MONUMENTAL

Will The Coalition please rise and approach the front of the room.
(a brief message from a group, that is “so wide you can’t get around it”)

“Citizens of the universe, recording angels”

“Do not attempt to adjust your radio, there is nothing wrong

We have taken control as to bring you this special show

We will return it to you as soon as you are grooving

Welcome to station W.E.F.U.N.K., better known as We-Funk”

Ubisoft has given us a message saying we did not “give up”. You “had to rise above it all”, and “you have overcome” Mahalo nui loa.

Again, for anyone who’s given up on a song, waited eons for an artist, or just feel like you aren’t seeing your favorites show up, this weeks’ DLC is proof.
    GIVE IT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There’s so much music to get to and so many artists and execs to deal with. That song could be coming.

Now, as we check another one off that list I posted 3 weeks ago, put your shades on, grab your ax, and let’s go crazy.

“If you hear any noise, it’s just me and the boys”

    1. I know what you are feeling right now. I have been crying for the last 10 hours, unable to write anything, tears of joy, needless to say.

    2. Nope, I’ve long given up on seeing certain artists ever appearing in Rocksmith and the more time that passes (6 years and counting) the more right it makes me

      1. I’ve read (I think it was in the Ubisoft forum) some folks have been waiting 7 – 8 years for this song. (well before I got into the game). That’s going back to the original Rocksmith.

  8. Stevie Wonder – “I Wish” & James Brown – “Sex Machine” would complete the pack perfectly. Come on. :p

  9. I wonder where MarleySantana is right now. That guy is gonna freak when he find out what starts off this week. I definitely have some ideas for things I’d like to see in this pack but I’ll happily take that CCR track as well.

    1. With this news, I’m trying to stay grounded while at work. It ain’t easy. The air up here is real thin, right now.

As far as DLC goes, I’m now good for the rest of the year.

      1. Well I think you still get to make requests but Myself and a few others might have been a little more amused by the weekly dedication to dropping the maggot bomb, lets just say you have three months to figure out what ever your next epic song request be it Sir Pyscho Sex RHCPs, Stairway T.H., something by C.Mingus whatever it ior maybe for those who didn’t see the humor in it the time off while you prepare to roll envelopes the next barrage. Pick a good one. No Bieber. May you Funk to your hearts content.

        1. Damn spell check never fixes what it should and fixes what it shouldn’t. Oh well. You get the idea. Anyway enjoy and I don’t have to say may, now with maggot brain on your side you know the Funk be with you.

        2. I won’t get into it yet. Gotta let the brain breathe.

What I can say is, the song has already been mentioned in the forums.
