  1. Maybe we’ll finally get another Artic Monkeys track…isn’t R U Mine one of the most played songs from the RS2014 setlist?

That reminds me…I’m curious how well the Kaiser Chiefs DLC sold. I’d like to see Oh My God one of these days

    1. I have a friend who is a big arctic monkeys fan. She wears a couple of shirts. There is a bit of a running gag, when I see her wearing them. Basically I point out that they’re called penguins. Sometimes I do it in Ren’s (as in & Stimpy) voice and might slip in an “you idiot”. For some reason she always laughs. Only reason I keep doing it. Utter silliness.

  2. Oh no. I just was looking at the video Ellison posted. He’s calling his band/project sleeper. That’s the name of a 90s Brit pop band who also recently reunited and are putting out an album from what I heard. I don’t use any form of social media, so I won’t be signing up to tell him this. Would somebody relay the news to him so he can find another name sooner then later. Give him my condolences as well, I’m sure this isn’t something anyone ever wants to hear.

      1. Good to hear. I really couldn’t watch the video once I had started it and saw that. I just was like that’s not good & A bit confused since it’s easy to do an internet search but I didn’t really want to bum anyone out about their project. Much better to hear that. I’m dyslexic anyway but the band named looked looks me the song title to me.

  3. I better hope that “Meant to live” or other Switchfoot would be joining this 2000 Mix’s Pack V! Who wants Switchfoot to appear in this pack?

  4. There are a lot of bands that I wouldn’t be surprised to see in one of these 2000’s packs: Ok Go, Cage the Elephant, Death Cab for Cutie, Arcade Fire, Phoenix, MGMT, Tegan & Sara,The Ting-Tings, Plain White T’s, Eagles of Death Metal, Blue October, Puddle of Mudd, Saving Abel, P!nk, Black Stone Cherry….I could go on and on.

Personally I would love to see some Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, some more Silversun Pickups, some Baroness, or perhaps Girl by Beck.

    1. Definitely have requested some BRMC and Cage the Elephant. Wouldn’t mind if they showed up this week. I’d been thinking about that already.

  5. Just saw Beck is getting divorced, which, sorry dude, that’s never fun for anyone (be glad none of you married a lawyer. That is brutal. Very, very brutal. But that’s my mistake. However I realized there is nothing by him yet in the game and Midnight Vultures was a good album. Unless it was still getting air play from the year before I think that was released in 2000. One of those tracks would be a fun addition. Guess we’ll find out soon.

      1. Well that is yet another sizeable untouched catalogue by Ubi. Time will tell. Just mentioning or guessing like everyone else. I do request tracks but here on this site is what I meant.

  6. Oh, wow, guess I should have read the full post. OUTKAST!!!!! YES!!!! It’s a shame Aquemini just missed the cut. Rosa Parks sounds like it’d be fun to play.

Any of those first three tracks of Stankonia would be good, Gasoline Dreams (a rocker), So Fresh So Clean (jazzy), Ms Jackson.

Actually wouldn’t mind that Nickleback either.

  7. I’m sure neither will show up here but since this is a 2000s pack anyone else remember when FFDP’s Ivan Moody was in Motograter or Ghost Machine? Probably just me I’m guessing.

    1. Both great bands, whereas I’m not really into FFDP. I own Ghost Machine on CD which is extremely hard to find now. Obviously neither band would ever be in Rocksmith but if I could just have one song I’d get Ghost Machine – Burning Bridges.

  8. Kinda like this song, I won’t mind some Atreyu, Gorillaz, SOAD, BFMV or even MOAR Muse to complete this pack. Let’s see what they have in stock for the 2 others.

  9. The least interesting Fountains of Wayne song ?

Radiation Vibe would have been far better, or I Want An Alien for Christmas even.

  10. I’m out, not even gonna waste my time looking anymore, all they have is crap songs, bye, bye, money from me.

  11. I have no idea how Rocksmith got this song considering today’s environment (imma leave it at that as well don’t a war here)

          1. JEESUS CHRIST! Not even the riff repeater is safe from this shit. Yes pc culture is out of control, and it’s mostly people on the left. Not like the religious Right ever tried to control what people said … Oh wait! Lol. Now that your pain has been documented do you need a cookie for your boo boo?

    1. That would be awesome. I hope AIC gets another full pack though. Maybe add in Again, Bleed the Freak, Grind…

    2. Btw you may want to check out Cantrell’s solo albums. Degradation trip was my favorite. There is a single disc and double disc version. Probably valid strengths to both but if you really want to dig into them I’d go with the double. Also there is mad season if you want more of LS.

        1. A pack of Cantrell would be pretty cool. Maybe we’ll get one some day, but since Ubi liked releasing Queen material with the film out, maybe a new AIC pack is on the way.

          1. Oops forget to mention Rainier Fog the New AIC album, which is why we might get the new pack. Thought it, didn’t type it. D’oh.

              1. Damn you’re right. I remember the announcement but had completely forgotten it in the interim, until you mentioned it. More reason for another AIC pack.

  12. Is it just me or does anyone feel like Stacy’s Mom and Jessie’s Girl are related through some time warp or black hole event. I’m not a big fan but I figured this is a like a must have for rocksmith at some point. I wish Puddle of Mudd would show up in this pack. We all know She Hates Me was probably requested like a million times by now

    1. ….mmm speaking of time warp, the sudden unexplained kitchen dance scene in this video is like a call back to the Hot For Teacher video.

    1. Well that would be the time period, however from what I’ve heard there has been some accounts of people trying to get Gilmour tracks and he just says no. Of course I’ll just assume it’s on a per indecent judgement. But I will say I have that album, so who knows what each person would pick for their first choice of gilmour guitar being introduced (wish you were here, among others), you won’t get my objection.

  13. Still wondering when we’ll get our first appearance from John Mayer, Los Lonely Boys, and more No Doubt. Not too hopeful, but this would be the time period.

    1. Well I know some of the tracks you were hoping for from ND were the 90s, that can specifically recall, but if you look in the game the year is wrong for some of the songs because they are off of hits albums (and do we have some live ones, I can’t remember), so just cause it says 2000s don’t rule it out. On that note odd time period flashback the radio station in my area back when, when my friend was doing his shift would run, I’m just a girl with tripping daisies, I got a girl, back to back. I forever associate those two tracks together.

      1. It seems like Rocksmith rarely touches on live tracks. First one that comes to mind is The Blues Brothers version of Soul Man.

For No Doubt, I’d love to see more music off of Tragic Kingdom; however, I was thinking for this pack more along the lines of after 2K with New or Bathwater off 2K’s Return to Saturn, Don’t Let Me Down from Rocksteady, or their version of It’s My Life.

Also, and yes I know the thumbs will show I’m an Army of 1 on this but, I’d like to see Long Time Gone by the Dixie Chicks.

        1. Oh yeah, I’ve got soul man. Good track. Hey don’t worry about the thumbs down it’s not like they matter. Anyone can put together a post designed to get a thumbs up. That’s meaningless. You’re just being honest. Nothing wrong with that. And it’s usually kind of fun to laugh at the people it annoys any way. Besides you want unpopular. I’ll bet I’m the only person who has requested songs from the following group of people. Zappa, captain Beefheart, Tom Waits, Chuck E. Weiss, Warren Zevon, Slim Harpo, Leadbelly, Django Reinhardt, Ali Farka Toure, Buckethead, The Eels, Treat Her Right, Sister Machine Gun, RevCo, BHole Surfers(I’m assuming that will get me flagged or edited), Lard, Mudhoney and about 1,000 other people. Find me one person onboard for that and requested it. Not going to happen. We all meet it in the middle with the likes of Hendrix, Petty, Pink Floyd, Led Z., Sabbath, RHCP and the like and see what we get from there. You can’t worry about those other people. Besides on a good week we get Chuck and Muddy. Thrills a guy like you and me. Not so much some others. We Aren’t thrilled every week either but it’s worth checking. Right now we have 2 more songs that might be nice surprises.

          1. Appreciate the support. It is comical sometimes. Some people just like to watch the world burn. One thing I like about your lists and comments is the diverse styles. I think it’s cool when folks bring up that honest group of artists that they’re into. 1) Let’s us know the diverse styles an individual is into, which lends credibility to future comments. 2) It is interesting to see names outside of what we generally agree on (The 3 Kings, SRV, VH, Muddy, AC/DC to go along with those you mentioned.) Nice to see you waving the flag for those artists not often mentioned in these conversations. Hopefully others might chime in to put out there that you aren’t actually alone. I’ve got a list of not so commons as well. Zapp, A Tribe Called Quest, Morgan Heritage, Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, George Benson, Anuhea, Word of Life Hawaii, DJ Quik, Jimmie Vaughan, James Taylor, the Benjamin Gate, Tony Toni Tone, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Staples Singers, Peter Tosh, Alabama, music produced by Dr. Dre, the Dixie Chicks, and music produced by Organized Noise (OutKast and the Goodie Mob). Then there are others who are more name dropped but not talked about nearly enough. Although we mention Maggot Brain here often, Funkadelic and Parliament have so much under appreciated music it’s sickening (Red Hot Mama, Super Stupid perfect for classic rock) A few others that lean closer to metal, and then that nose wrinkling funk from Funkentelechy to Aqua Boogie. There are great forgotten songs by well knows like Santana, VH, Heart (In A Silent Way, D.O.A., Even it Up respectively) Give Into Me by MJ would be a great addition to Rocksmith until, if ever, GnR arrives. Los Lonely Boys have a hot blues rocker called Crazy Dream, off their first album that would be good for this week’s early 2Ks pack. EVH has a couple of songs with LL Cool J that would look good on Rocksmith too. Oh and then there’s Cameo, the Isley Brothers, the O’Jays, Buju Banton, the Manao Company, Pat Benetar, Ice Cube, Tom Tom Club, I want to keep going.

Seriously though, I love Sam in VH but there really is more than one way to rock. Rocksteady, Heart of Rock n Roll, Rock the Bells, etc One Nation Under a Groove.

I’m interested to hear what anyone else requested and thinks they’re alone on (or if anyone even read this far down). Just curious who’s in the room.

            1. Well all in all that’s the thing there is a huge amount of music out there, if Ubi does 20 more years the are still just scratching the surface. Being this is a 00’s pack I was thinking about a lot of things ended then. Boxes weekly/monthly don’t show up loaded with free albums anymore on my door step. I loved that. You got to check out a ton of stuff, keep whatever you liked and trade the rest of it for more stuff you liked or give it to friends. It was awesome. Can’t socialize with people at tower records in Hollywood (moved anyway) there was always 2 people who worked there with great taste, not your own but you had a mutual foundation, that you’d become friends with and based on that you both would check things out you wouldn’t have otherwise. Let alone the people who walked in there, I don’t know anyone who talked to Christopher Lloyd when he would pop in you could tell you should never do that, but you could tell if someone mentioned back to the future to him. He went off, which was kind of fun, at least if you weren’t the ninny who did it.

But genre wise I could go on huge riffs, lord how I love the blues. I still think chess is the greatest record label off all time. Then again I am a huge metal fan and much like chess, up until the point they sold out to a big label, band per band I think roadrunner was the best label in the 90s for metal into the 00s sell out. I’m a big ol’ Industrial fan which was set to be the dominant music force in the world and one album killed it. Nevermind. Cobain felt really bad about that. One he liked the genre, but thousands of bands lost there recording contract over night, which deeply bothered him but some of those folks were friends and bands he liked. History now. Japanese taiko drumming I like, but can’t do anything with it here. However since you had mentioned hip-hop, I know I mentioned prophets of rage (RATM+Public Enemy+Cypress Hill) but if you ever heard of a cat called Saul Williams he actually did an album with NINs Trent Reznor. All the material from Trent was stuff from his fragile album but that is a very interesting project. The album title is a taken from David Bowie’s Ziggy album, but changed to the Inevitabal Rise and Fall of Niggy Tardust. A friend of mine who got shot, I got hooked on that, but there isn’t really another album quit like it. It’s an oddity, but a pretty good one. I don’t think we’ll get it but I’d be amused if we ever got some Taj Mahal, the early blues is my favorite but he certain started taking other things and put them in the blender.

That’s one of the things though. Personal taste aside and what sells as well, music has another section and it’s the foundational blocks. If you hang out with musicians a lot of the same names pop up. The metal guys here probably wouldn’t get how many of thier favorite bands listen to Tom Waits, among others, Just as an example. But that guys name pops up all over the place (among others) when it’s people who make the records. Then there are bands who sit on the crossroads huge sales and influence Chuck Berry I love, Beatles I don’t (yeah you’re not supposed to say it, dont care), or sales no substance New kids on Block (totally fair to pick on them). Being this is a music game Ubi knows they have to sell us things but sometimes I think they should give us what people might not know they need. A Django Reinhardt here, some Larry Graham there, a bit of Velvet Underground, or Leadbelly and so on. Musicians music. Where things come from. If people want to then delve into it good for them. They don’t have to. Then again what do I know. I have Smithsonian records from the 1890s that have things like chain gangs and field song recordings on them. Interesting from a historical point, but I like a few of them. Anything can be done well, it goes down from there and the majority of anything is not quality. Oddly despite the saying cream doesn’t always rise to the top either. Even accounting for personal taste it’s why those who are musically obsessed keep hunting. There are lost treasures waiting to be found.

          2. FWIW I’ve already requested some cuts from Waits and Zevon and Mudhoney. Some of those Beefheart guitar lines would be a trip to play, that’s an inspired idea.
SMG would be a cool left field pick, It’s be a lot of fun to play Burn or Overload or Hole in the Ground

            1. I will admit Beefhearts Batchain puller has gotten stuck in my head before. Good to hear some else is requesting those other guys as well. My 2 favorite SMG albums are Burn (industrial blues, love it) and metropolis, so most of the songs I requested are off those. But to get some of those, though thrilling, I will admit is probably a long shot. But we never know.

                1. I’ve listened to them both a lot. No idea if one sold better. Those were just the strongest most consistent albums that got put out. The other ones could have good tracks but to repeatedly listen to them was no where near as satisfying. Although I think there is a fairly recent album, but I haven’t gotten around to checking it out. They did show up on some soundtracks, mostly remixes but a few weren’t, I think Mortal Kombat or something had a good original track or maybe you just couldn’t get the album it was from yet at the time. Regardless there is some material there that would be fun to have in the game. Industrial doesn’t seem to get love from Ubi though. No front line Assembly, NIN, 16volt, stabbing Westward, static-x, machines of loving grace, gravity kills, ministry, etc.. I’ve made requests and I still got hope though.
