Hmm… well, what would have worked well in March? Of course, that’s not the only hint present. Dan Amrich posted a (thankfully) easier (than last week) hint this week on the forums.
Have you gotten it yet? The people in this image are Lawrence Welk, Douglas Adams, Joseph Louis Francois Bertrand, and Yakko & Wakko from the Animaniacs. Still confused? Well, the three real people were born on March 11th, and the man who voiced Yakko & Wakko (Rob Paulsen) was born on, you guessed it, March 11th! In America, the date format would be 03/11. Since you’ve no doubt read the title, and seen the picture, I think you can guess where I’m headed with this! If the people weren’t enough of a hint, the picture is also (apparently) rotated -49°, and 360-49 = 311. Math! Oh, also, March 11th was a Tuesday, so a 311 pack would have been great for that day.
Here’s what we think could be coming with this pack:

Super chill and loaded with arpeggios, this song would be great in any 311 pack. Also, see below, because we have a very good idea that this will show up…
Beautiful Disaster
Arguably the most well known 311 song to rhythm game fans thanks to its appearance in Guitar Hero World Tour, as well as it’s recent addition as Rock Band DLC, it would be crazy to leave this song out of the pack.
Come Original
If the title doesn’t immediately jump out at you, there’s a good chance you’ve still heard this one. Or, at least, if you listen(ed) to a lot of Y2K-era alternative rock it will…

This is irrelevant but according to IMDB Jess Harnell was the voice of Wakko. Jess Harnell is also the lead singer of the band Rock Sugar so could this week be Rock Sugar week? Hmmm?

The hint isn’t from the debut album it’s from the self-titled (1995) “Blue” Album. Debut was in 93 with “Music.”

the jacksons great man, and i don’t see how anyone can tell me with a straight face that this past month and a half of dlc has anything other than miserable. And fyi just because i have a jackson that does not mean i am a heavy metal shredhead, I love all kinds of music.
I can tell you I have enjoyed a lot of the DLC from the past month and a half (and Rocksmith period; Own 146/273 songs). M20, Garbage, The 90s singles, and AFI all made it into my collection. Sure I skipped over a few packs myself because different people have different musical tastes. I don’t mind giving my wallet a break every now and then.
i did grab afi girls not grey for the rockband nostolgia its pretty fun. That M20 pack could have had some better choices (real world, if your gone). I’m mostly kind of tired of all the alt rock though, some southern rock would be something new, I would LOVE a molly hatchet pack, or some progressive rock as well.
Kind of in the same boat – I’m an old-schooler, though I don’t mind discovering some new stuff. But man… some Molly Hatchet would be pretty amazing.

I would get for the bass grooves alone. This band is good by today’s standards but back in the 90s they were not taken very seriously
So how exactly is the DLC determined? Do they (Rocksmith people) take request?
Um yes they do.
Hit up their facebook page and make a request. You need a Uplay account I think but you should be able to make any requests you want. I’m not sure how much thought they put into obscure/unknown bands when there aren’t hundreds of people requesting them. And I don’t know how long it takes between making the request and to the release of that song but there’s always hope. Give it a try.
Well. This is not for me. But the DLC floweth, and I’m happy to sit one out.

disgusting, at least we are getting mastodon and ratm soon. If rocksmith keeps up with the good dlc we are getting soon they might be able to make up for the past two months of garbage (pun intended) they have been giving us.

nope i like all kinds,I have kind of grown out of metal a bit (although I still like it). I especially like classic rock and prog, but this is total dudebro music from the 90s and we have had way to much 90s lately. If they wanted to shove more 90s down our throats they could have at least gave us some candlebox or sublime or more pearl jam.
I’m a huge Sublime fan but I’m interested to see you differentiate the “dude-broness” of Sublime from 311 in an objective fashion.

there is not much of a difference but at least i can listen to sublime, a band that is actually out of my comfort zone and enjoy them. I think that says something about the quality difference between the two bands.

Not sure why people need to complain about DLS, its just a game, you can still play your guitar without RS. That is like saying…”HALO is not coming out wiht enought map DLC…I hate it….wah wah wah”

I’ll admit that comment i made was a little off based and mean(they are a pretty band band though) but we have been given alot of given alot of junk lately, 311, a day to remember(euuggh) and halestorm, and it has got me a little on edge. Down by 311 still hurts to listen to though and im sorry if that makes anybody mad but that song WOW! i just cringed the whole way through and im pretty tolerant guy when it comes to music.

I’m not a fan of their style either but who am I or you to tell anyone what they can or can’t like? Everyone’s entitled to opinions. Clearly there must have been requests for the band since Ubi is giving them DLC. Those who like the band will enjoy it, and I’m mature enough to be happy for them instead of throwing tantrums on the board about how I never get things my way.
I’m perfectly okay not getting to enjoy some new DLC this week. My wallet could use a break from that.
311 is in a genre of its own, essentially. My PRS will have fun with Mahoney after Tremonti (both have signature PRS’s)
I love “Beautiful Disaster” but I really want “Come Original” so the pack won’t be AORB.
Either way, I’ll be satisfied.
If they’re keeping up the PRS frenzy, I would hope for some Opeth, Jane’s addiction, and incubus from Mike’s PRS era.
shinedown’s guitarist also plays a PRS but i would rather not get any shinedown dlc. Some whitesnake or more santana (also PRS) would be nice though.

If they have ‘come original’ I’ll get it just for another slap bass track, I can’t believe there’s still only ‘higher ground’, but that’s another discussion…
