Hello Rocksmith fans!

What’s shakin’ Hip Cats? @DanAmrich posted an clue earlier today which makes it very obvious what next week’s Rocksmith 2014 DLC will consist of!

Black text: What the song break at apache
White text: is only for dancing the

Password: Apache

Which gives us this image

What could it mean? Oh wait, Apache is the bar from this scene!

Yup, it’s Tequila by The Champs!

What other 50’s Rock songs could we be seeing next Tuesday in this THREE pack?

Is it finally time?

If I keep predicting this maybe it will happen…

Keeping with the Latin theme perhaps?

Are you excited for another Variety Pack going waaay back? What songs are you hoping to fill the two slots? Let us know!

  1. Pretty sure that the pack is
    La Bamba – Richie Valens
    Tequila – The Champs
Rock Around the Clock – Bill Haley & His Comets

    1. I have no idea what threat I gave you and I also don’t talk tough on the internet so I don’t see your point? Go act like a tough guy somewhere else rather than on the www.

      1. Hank Williams–Lovesick Blues sounds interesting. I had a lot of fun with “I’m so Lonesome I Could Cry”.

  2. Meh, We just had rockabilly not too long ago, and that’s as close to 50’s as I dare tread. if its not the lackluster guitar playing (compared to more modern music, mind you. Such as 1969 or or above) its the awful sound quality (again compared to more modern music.)
50’s music to me is not as timeless as classical such as Bach/Mozart. I just cant get into it when the newer options are so much better. Maybe next week Ubisoft, but this week I keep my money. I just cant enjoy 50’s rock, the bar has been raised so high since then in every facet of music.

  3. I’m not super excited by this pack but I’ll buy it and probably enjoy it. I’ve never been able to get ‘request a song’ to work. If there are any sympathetic fellow bassists out there will 1 of you please request “get me back on time, engine #9” (parts 1 AND 2!) by Wilson pickett for me and I’ll be polish your bass daily for a month, lol.

  4. Brian u r all about a lonely little boy….. If you don’t like my posts don’t read them ya ass clown!

  5. if the other two are better than tequelia than perhaps
they’ll be worthy purchase come Steam sale time

  6. i hate the single-pack clues, we get one song confirmed then rampant speculation for several days. Utterly pointless. I’ll wait and see what’s there and then get excited or not.

    1. I don’t really get that either. These guys are putting this DLC out for sale. You would think they’d want as much exposure and advertisement as possible. Instead they play this little secrecy game. How does that entice anyone but the die-hard fans?

        1. I think it just leaves everything open to too much speculation and a lot of people get annoyed or disappointed when they don’t get their way. They could just do press releases each month and advertise the upcoming packs and give them time to gain momentum before release.

  7. Okay so reading all of these posts has me under the belief we won’t get Green Onions (came out in the 60s), and it’s highly unlikely we’ll get Chuck Berry. Not a big Elvis fan, however; I know his contributions were huge. Is his music hard to get at like Chuck Berry? What about Buddy Holly? With all of this going on, I see why it’s only a 3 pack.

How about adding some Muddy Waters? We have Howlin’ Wolf, what about Muddy?

  8. This pack could be good if the right songs are picked … But we all know if it’s a 5 pack 3 will most definitely be turds!

  9. YOGA PANTS.
(I’ll get to that in a second)

Yeah, now we’re talking. With the way 2015 started, it’s nice to see that Ubisoft has decided to go in a few new directions over the last few months–blues, country, rockabilly. I guess this goes to show you have to be patient. (still holding out for that reggae and some either spanish or classical)

While I too admit, another new direction for RS would be to give us some more music that is less than 20 years old, I’m pretty sure I’ll be very happy with this 50s pack.

Would prefer Chuck Berry’s – Guitar Boogie to Johnny B Goode but hey, as I’ve said before, it seems almost asinine for any guitar game/lessons to not include Johnny B Goode or Joan Jett’s I Love Rock N Roll. Those are two essentials

Bill Haley is an essential in a 50s pack like this.

And ABOVE ALL ELSE. If this song isn’t included, the pack is a FAIL.

(not sure which one of y’all’s mom was dancing in this video, but she was gettin off. You should be proud.)

Here’s a more comical version featuring Marilyn Monroe and a young Alec “Obi Wan” Guiness. Also, it looks like they may have had yoga pants way back in the 60s. 🙂

      1. Saw Chuck Berry live a few years back. At his age the guy still loved every minute he was on stage. Even did the duck walk. He likes to please the fans. I bet if RS tried and explained what this was, they could get a deal out of it.

    1. How about just buying the tabs if you are so adamant about playing Chuck Berry!? Seems silly to have a hissy-fit about a game that tries it’s hardest to put out good music on a weekly basis while trying to get around music licensing. I mean guys, Rocksmith is an amazing learning tool and I am grateful for what it has done for me, but if you are really serious about learning music there are other avenues to explore. Hey, Necromangler36 do you think Chuck Berry used Rocksmith to learn guitar? Did he just put down the guitar when they didn’t release his favorite music one week. Crazy how people nowadays are so entitled to everything, sheesh. Stick a fork in this guy cause he is going to be DONE haha. One less complainer thankfully; and thank you Rocksmith for always providing us with great music on a weekly basis!

  10. Oh, @ JKRO…I am actually happy for those who want this pack…I am just hoping the folks ar RS will spice up future selections.

  11. No wait…did I say this was alright I guess? I lied…I have spent about 1500 bucks on dlc…I think ubisoft should spork over some licensing dough and get something I want before I spend another dime. Bigger bands, more relevant, someone that is still drawing breath even? No offense to those who have assumed rooM temperature, but I’m bored with old bargain basement stuff.

    1. This is a little too close to the rockabilly pack for my taste but I know eventually I will get it.im getting excited for year end releases they gotta have something big again

    2. I’m with you. I was hoping it would be a good year before we got anything else this old. These mixed packs, in my opinion of course, have only had one good song on average. I’m guessing the rest of the songs will be from bands that I’ve never heard of.

      1. SPEAK UP, i CAN’T HEAR YOU. Sorry, It was me, my hearing aid went dead again.

Listen sonny, I don’t have many years left to play guitar before the ole arthritis kicks in, and I am thrilled to be able to play something that really rocked in my day.

So unless you wanna rock old school

        STAY OFF MY LAWN.

Sorry about that, last bit, us old timers have trouble with the caps lock from time to time Seriously though, I would buy anything pre-the last big war, you know, Korea.

  12. I guess. I think I got burnt out on this stuff during the 80’s 50’s revival…it will suffice, but it is just another week of kind of yawning for me. Chuck Berry is cool, no doubt…but…everyone on earth has remade that tune. I will cling to the hope that something will thrill me someday soon…though I am not exactly sure what it could be….Van morrison and megadeth and dave matthews…and it could be songs about the end of the world…oh yeah add u2….cool. I can dream can’t I?

    1. You talk about relevance and you add the name of Dave Matthews to your list of people who should be represented on Rocksmith. Hahahahahahah! Dave Matthews c’mon man! Hmmmm? Chuck Berry or Dave Matthews? Laughable!!!!! This is precisely why Rocksmith will never be able to win with fans. I mean here we have a guy who wants some really big bands, etc. (I do agree with him about U2, Edge is a genius with FX) and won’t buy anything until Van Morrison and Dave Matthews are released on Rocksmith? I can’t think of two people I’d rather not see on Rocksmith unless you like to play some boring rhythm guitar. I do love Van but not on Rocksmith. Dave Matthews plain blows unless you are still a teenage girl? If you are I am sorry.

      1. Dave mathews in the dicaprio of 90s and earley 00s rock.Just like dicaprio , a few big hits have overshadowed the raw talent underneath. They also become easy targets to short sighted people. Leos titanic is dave mattews space between . But then you see leo in basketball diares._and you realize , holy crap i was wrong , guys got serious talent, dave matthews basketball diaries is seeing him and his ensemble cast of musisans live, then you relize , wow , guys got some serious talent. Hated d.M.B for years , then i realized besides the radio i had never listened to them. Yeah , sometimes the badwagon is wrong.;;)

        1. Nice try buddy but nahhhhhh really bad analogy! I agree with you on Leo, but never will I delve into the soft, redundant music of Dave Matthews. If I don’t make it into Heaven my eternal punishment of damnation will be to hear Ants Marching for all eternity with that whiny, annoying voice. Dave Matthews blows!

          1. Im just saying , i was just like you , then i watched him live, haaaaaaaave you seen him live or are you going off radio singles that i agree suck. Guy has like a 13 person band , and its members have serious talent , it took me like ten plus years to give it a chance and i had my finger on the trigger the whole time , i was impressed

  13. Nevermind my other comment I did not watch the live video, just listened to the pee wee Herman clip. Looks fun. And I also am really hoping for Rock Around

  14. I like these kinda songs. But is it just me or is there not a whole lot of guitar in Tequila? Not sure if I’m just not hearing it over the sax or whatever instrument that is.

  15. Whenever I hear the song Tequila, I always think about the kids from The Sandlot chewing tobacco and then spraying vomit all over everybody riding with them on that carnival ride.

Still kind of want to buy it though.
