Speculation: Rocksmith Newsletter hints at February DLC

Hello Rocksmith fans!

While you were busy planning your Valentines Day, the monthly newsletter came out! You know what that means… We have some speculating to do!

“Two Kids”

This one is easy, it’s referring to The @Offspring pack. Specifically The Kids Aren’t Alright and You’re Gonna Go Far Kid!

“Some Dreams”

The staff is divided on this one…

I personally think it’s time for @Dreamtheater

Or perhaps it’s time for a @marilynmanson pack…

@forrest11903 is hoping it’s a hint towards a Cheap Trick DLC.

“A train”

My money is on this hinting at Train Kept A Rollin’ which would point towards Aerosmith II.

Or perhaps…

and this suggestion which got @BestFenton fired

“Romance for the 14th”

But Dan… That’s a SUNDAY!

Oh well, have at it folks. What are you hoping to be included in this years Valentines themed pack? Let us know what you are expecting to come this month.

Stay tuned on Friday for the hint towards next DLC!

  1. Train is so vague… But intrigues me because there are so many examples of the use of Train in Rock that I am excited just to see what it is…

Here are a list of 10 examples. Albeit, some are highly unlikely but if wishes were horses my house would be full of horse crap!

My personal Order of preference (Top being first)

    1 – ‘Crazy Train’ – Ozzy Osbourne
    2 – ‘Train, Train’ – Blackfoot
3 – ‘Locomotive Breath’ – Jethro Tull (Tied with Train, Train on my wish list)
    4 – ‘Train Kept A Rollin” – Aerosmith
5 – ‘Hear My Train A Comin” – Jimi Hendrix
    6 – ‘Rock N Roll Train’ – AC/DC
    7 – ‘Nighttrain’ – Guns N’ Roses
8 – ‘Blue Train’ – Jimmy Page and Robert Plant
9 – ‘Slow Train Coming’ – Bob Dylan
10 – ‘Train In Vain (Stand By Me)’ – The Clash

  2. “Get me back on time, engine #9” (Hopefully both parts) and I’ll be in heaven but I’ll settle for another aerosmith (train kept Rollin) or doobie bros. (Long train running) pack. Valentines day “piece of my heart” by Joplin or “somebody to love” by jef.airplane would be fantastic.

  3. Dream Theater would kick some ass. Don’t know how Drops of Jupiter would fit, being so centered on the piano. Manson’s cover of Sweet Dreams would be awesome.

  4. It just says “a train” does it have to have that specific word in the title or band name? What about a song like Locomotivebreath by Jethro Tull?

  5. Oh, I’ve got to change my answer. I forgot, it’s that time of year again to honor Tuff Gong.

    A Train:
It Ain’t No Fun(If the Homies Can’t Have None)-Snoop Dogg

    Dreams:
    Natural Mystic – Robert Nesta

    Romance:
    No Woman No Cry

    Happy Birthday Bob.

  6. The video steamroller posted on the forum really reminds me of California Dreamin as someone else mentioned. Not sure if that really fits with the Valentine’s Day thing though. But that does fit with the Dream hint. Hmmmmmmm

  7. Some Dreams:
Crazy Dream – Los Lonely Boys
    Dreams – Fleetwood Mac
Boulevard of Broken Dreams – Green Day

    A Train:
It Ain’t No Fun(If The Homie Can’t Have None) – Snoop Dogg 😛

  8. Southern Rock variety pack…
    Molly Hatchet… Dreams I’ll Never See…
    Blackfoot… Train Train…
The Outlaws… There Goes Another Love Song…

  9. After really enjoying The Astonishing by Dream Theater, I’m getting high hopes for them to show up on Rocksmith in the near future. Only time will tell. 🙂

    1. maybe after 7-string support or B standard get added as supportedd tunings.

i’m sure their earlier stuff is do-able but all of the astonishing is played on a 7-string.

tbh, i was pumped during the dystopian overture but after that the record seemed to drag on… there were a few great moments but overall 2 hours of DT was wayyy too much (for me).

      1. I felt the same way the first time I listened to it. It really started to grow on me after multiple listens. I do agree that some parts are either dragged on or feel forced, but for me it’s a great album at it’s core. 🙂

      2. Support for 7-stringed guitars and lower tunings would be amazing. Opens up for so many songs and artists. I mean, they skipped Breaking Benjamin’s most obvious choice (The Diary of Jane), presumably because of the drop A# tuning.

  10. I must say I am a little disapointed. I have been wishing and hoping that they would do more Bowie songs in honor of this true legend’s passing. Not to mention he was a fan of music games like Amplatude. Come on Rocksmith do all us Bowie fans a soild and give us a new pack, please. Who’s with me?

  11. Romance = My Chemical Romance?

I, like many, would instantly purchase an Aerosmith II pack of (all) classic songs.

  12. Dreams: Apocalypse Dreams. Come on ubi. We need some more Tame. (Apocalypse Dreams, Runaways, Houses, Cities, Clouds, Alter Ego, Mind Mischief, Let It Happen).

Train: Peace Train by a cat called stevens (Peace Train, Father And Son, Wild World, Two Fine People, Sitting).

Romance: Valentine’s pack. I don’t have any love songs in my head so I don’t know.
