Speculation: Thirty Seconds to Mars to Land on Rocksmith

Hello Rocksmith fans!

Coming up next week is a FIVE pack from American rock band @30SECONDSTOMARS!

Does the lead singer look familiar to you? You aren’t seeing things, this is indeed @JaredLeto’s rock band.

Thirty Seconds to Mars are no strangers to music games- having been featured on-disc in such games as Guitar Hero: World Tour (2008) with their hit The Kill (which recently showed up again in Guitar Hero Live), and in 2010 received a three pack of songs featuring: Kings and Queens, Attack, and From Yesterday.  On Rock Band 30STM received five DLC songs including This Is War, and Closer to The Edge, this will be their first debut in a real guitar game!

Before we get to the speculation on songs, let’s check out @DanAmrich’s hint!

Once you solve the crossword you are left with the following letters:

XIHDEHTARGUSAPOCRAPNEF

It’s an anagram for…

FIND THE ARGUS APOCRAPHEX

Which was an ARG conducted by the band as explained here.

Here are the Top 10 songs on Spotify US for @30SECONDSTOMARS! What song is most likely to appear in next week’s five pack? Vote below!

Now, given the newsletter hint for this month (sorry for the lack of a write up, it was hectic yesterday) being this…

Could that mean that we are getting this? I’d say it’s a safe bet…

What else are you hoping to see in the pack?  Let us know in the comments below!

  1. Keep the Music coming. I am improving weekly and going back to older DLC to advance. PS always go back and check for bonuses. More Alternate leads and such. As you improve these become unlocked. I discovered a couple of more this week.

  2. these guys really have the finger on the pulse of what people want to play i saw that facebook has more comments about this than likes. Now if only they added that dislike button that might change

    1. I’d have to agree and judging by the bands picture up there I’m guessing at least some of these songs won’t be in E standard tuning (lol) but someone must have requested them so happy new year to them. Good news is that the odds are next week will bring better dlc, lol.

  3. Did you know: it’s impossible to get to Mars in 30 seconds through physical space? You’d have to go at least 5 times the speed of light!

    1. I’m not that good at math but if mars is around 140 million miles from earth on average and the speed of light is around 186,000 miles per second than wouldn’t that make it more like 25 times the speed of light that you would need to go? (15x C at closest?)

      1. 5.6 * 10^10 m (closest after a quick google, aka 56 million km), so divide by 30 sec and you get 18.67 * 10^8 m/s, which is over 6 times speed of light.

Also, don’t say ‘c’. That’s only good for use in equations, not in conversation

        1. Just to clarify, what I’m trying to get at is there is no point at which you can travel to Mars in 30 seconds according to an external observer, because even at the closest point you’re going too fast.

Also: 56 million km is approximately 35 million miles

I’ll save a relativistic calculation, which will allow you to calculate the speed which you need to go at to get to Mars in 30 seconds according to the traveller, for later.

          1. You guys are SOOOO geo-centric!
There’s a sphere in space surrounding Mars that is in fact 30 seconds to/from mars.
Assuming unpropelled bodies falling towards the surface the inside shell of the sphere would be approximately 1674.73620958m (rounded for ease of calculations, of course) from the planet’s surface.

The big trick is getting the band there! ;p

          2. Lol,I botched the miles to km conversion for the closest approach. I’m getting just over six now. Still getting 25 for average distance though. Wouldn’t the relativistic effects of such a short trip at light speed be negligible? Don’t sweat the nanoseconds. xD

  4. It would be awesome if Dan put as much effort into getting better DLC to offer us as he does with these weekly puzzles.

    1. I’m not really a fan of this band either but as long as we don’t get any Justin bieber or one direction dlc for rocksmith Dan can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned.

    2. Dan, and his clues don’t affect the the turn out of dlc’s. He’s broken down the process a million times. The hold up is not on RS end. Its either lack of interest from RS community or refusal or delays on the rights holder side. Maybe if YOU put in as much effort mobilizing support for whichever artist you’d like to see released in the game you could offer something of value. Lobby the artist, or get folks to put in request. Skillet got a whopping 26 votes in the best of December poll, it doesn’t take much. Several of us enjoy the hints, and the advance notice of upcoming dlc’s they provide.

    3. Perfect time to repost one of Dan’s comments regarding this issue—in case y’all missed it the first time.

“Please remember that we’re here to serve a wide audience and every week’s DLC is going to resonate with different segments of the audience. That’s okay. That’s how it’s actually designed to work. Do not expect anything else, or you’ll simply be making yourself unhappy, and we can’t change that. “

I’m not the first, or even the only one to say this, but I’ll state it again. The bands we see as DLC have fans. Let those fans have their day. I’m not a fan of this week’s DLC either, but I had my day last month with STP. Like Take 6 said, “Spread love”. (I’d be shocked if anyone reading this actually knows what band I’m quoting.) Anyway, as has happened to me before, give them a listen. You may grow to find some new music to get into thanks to Rocksmith.

  5. I would be happy with any of those top songs. sure, most of their music isn’t very complex but its fun to play, well written, and I find it enjoyable to listen to. Will be purchasing this pack even though I know how to play all but two of those top songs.

    1. thats what I was thinking when they figured out it was 30 seconds. Im indifferent to their music in general, but if the guitar work is good Ill buy it. Unfortunately, what I have heard from them doesn’t sound all that challenging but I’ve been pleasantly surprised before. I felt the same about STP and was surprised by the little details DeLeo threw in, so Ill wait and see the charts.

  6. Not only did he kill john Lennon but than he makes this music for the living. I still like him in my so called life
