Hope your holiday was joyous and not too chilly as we wrap up a great year of DLC content and get ready to decide the Best DLC of 2016.
Before we get to December, let’s see how you voted last month.
Not much of a surprise that Stevie Ray Vaughan dominated the polls, but shoutout to the very awesome variety pack of UBI30: 1986 a strong contender indeed.
December kicked off with the sixth Variety Pack containing singles from newcomers The Fall of Troy, Gin Blossoms, the return of Brian Setzer and yet another single from David Bowie! Next up was three songs from the always in demand Creedence Clearwater Revival, this time featuring D Standard tuning for those Fogerty leads. Finally the return of Green Day with a five song pack sampling a few hit songs from their 30 year+ career.

This month was very E Standard focused, but as always there were a few drop tuned entries.

Went for CCR even though I bought as many songs that week as I did in the variety week.
I love Green Day, but the pack missed the mark for me, I get the wanting to represent all the albums, but it’s a shame when two of those albums are awful.
Wow, can’t believe I’m voting against what should have been the two best packs of the month. These Variety packs really don’t swing wide enough, in my opinion, to be called “Variety” packs. V-pack VI is one of the ones that has come the closest. Still off the mark, but not far. Applauding the effort and the V-pack 6 gets my vote.
While I understand the difficulties, CCR should have been a larger pack. For Green Day, well I think we’ve all pounded that monster into submission.
The ’86 pack beat the 3rd eye blind pack? = well, I never thought that I would be voting for a variety pack in a month that included CCR or GD but I did because it had two songs that I really liked and the other two packs only had one each even though I really like the bands. Thanks for a fun year Riff Repeater!
