Opinion: Will the new Rocksmith be revealed in July?

Hello fans of Rocksmith!

Hope everyone is well and still striving to master the 1565 songs available for Rocksmith Remastered!

There hasn’t been much news to talk about, but today there was a tweet from @Ubisoft that was then quoted by @UbisoftStudioSF (the studio that brought us Rocksmith).

Could this mean a look at the Future of Music Learning? Or will it be anything but?

Although E3 won’t exist this year due to COVID-19, there’s a little history of the Rocksmith team unveiling important milestones that coincide with the summer gaming retail event.

  1. If it is a music learning game of any type and I either cannot play my current Rocksmith DLC on it or even have to pay a penny per song to port them in… forget about it. $3 /song is more than enough to pay to expect it to be forward compatible.

    1. You mean compatible right? Don’t know, don’t care about Xbox I’ve never used, owned or spent a penny on anything that goes to bill gates. And I don’t intend to ever do so. However all of us who are using anything else have the same question. Will i have to upgrade?

  2. How about DLC flexibility? I have like 500$ worth of songs on Xbox one that I forward compatibility used from Xbox 360. But I also have a ps4 and am mostly done with dealing with Microsoft. Them deciding that me paying once for resident evil 4 and GTA San Andreas was enough for me (had purchased the games, but when more polished versions came out they disappeared from my hard drive, with the only option being to buy the newer version)

I know there’s likely no fucking way that happens. But that’ll make me think twice before I sink anymore money into your fancy franchise. Not to mention plenty of services are popping up like mushrooms online that are essentially discount rock smiths. All that being said I love the series, I just feel bitter after waiting week to week to be disappointed somewhat consistently by the dlc selections. Probably gonna buy The new one so this is mostly venting.

  3. I think that would be a great time to announce something. I really cant believe they have not even hinted at what the new project is. I really thought that they would say or demonstrate something with each weekly twitch stream but I was wrong. I really hope the new project is very similar or an update to Rocksmith. I have invested hundreds of hours and money into the program. Its a great teaching tool. Still learning guitar and hope it continues in some form.
