Rocksmith posted comment on Facebook that they requested but did not get permission. I bet they have been trying to get them a long time maybe by year end we can get a Rhcp pack

i’m not a fan of nu-metal but i would have bought the pack anyway if the songs were in E standard tuning. i’m not buying anymore down tuned songs until the game can properly register drop tuned notes (on bass) and/or provide 5 string charts for them.

have you tried heavier strings on your bass?
I play guitar, but since i changed my strings for heavier ones, the game register my drop tuned notes way better. and now i simply prefer heavy strings.
dougybongy is 100% correct. Heavier stings help a lot. I would also recommend a tuner (I love my Snark) since the in game seems to be way too lenient on that front which throws things way out of whack.
I have no problem with down tuned songs for bass with my DR DDT strings and a tuner… C standard with no issues.
Hm, I’ve had the same problem. Heavier than what? Can you recommend specific strings? (I’m afraid I don’t know what “DR DDT” means)
Heavier than “regular” strings..
DR is a brand of strings, and DDT are their special Drop Down Tunings strings.
Strings are usually classified as lite/medium/heavy, or something like that. Just choose the brand you like, and select their special strings for drop tunings, or what they call heavy..
Not always as simple as heavier strings (although they do help). Nut height/string action, neck tension, and intonation are all changed slightly by changes to tuning.
How hard you fret the string can change the tuning by quite a lot on a down-tuned guitar if the string action at the nut is quite high and the strings slack.
Pressing with the same strength to fret the string as you would when it is tuned higher, changes the fretted note when down-tuned, almost like performing a bend which sends the fretted note out of tune.
You cant really be expected to change the nut height or intonation every time you down-tune, but at least you know whats causing the misses and try to hit the frets much lighter than you would with standard tuning.
This issue is always discussed quite a lot with lowered tunings. People always blame RS accuracy when its just the physics of the down-tuned strings and their guitar/bass setup. Not that it’s their fault, or their guitar’s, just that there is a reason that it happens.
those aren’t a great option. they dont sound nearly as nice, and they tend to be harder to press. they just use a super thick core to compensate for the reduction in tension that you get with a drop tuning. this results in a string that sounds about as musical as rebar.
if you want to down tune, do it properly. get thicker strings. i have created my own set by getting individual strings. most music shops have singles, as do most online sellers. Daddario is the easiest to do this way. a general rule is go one guage thicker (0.5 thicker) for every semi tone you want to tune down. and DO NOT buy a 5 string set and tune up. way too much tension in those strings.
just remember that when you get thicker strings, it will need a setup, and potentially nut adjustments. my american standard p bass didn’t need any adjustments at the nut somehow, and its in drop c following the guidelines i set out. my gibson needed a very minor nut adjustment for eb standard.
and here’s the kicker. these two basses register every single note every single time while my fender bass in e standard has constant missing. i’m picking along a straight constant set of notes and it just stops registering what i’m playing. calibration doesn’t help this issue with my e standard fender.
I’ve only ever had a an issue with bass on one song, Pantera – Cemetery Gates. It says the output is too low, which still pisses me off, otherwise I’ve never had a problem with drop tuning..

I had a feeling Getting Away With Murder would look pretty unimpressive on guitar. Thanks for taking one for the team, guitarists (you know we bassists have had to do it plenty of times!).
not for me. I don’t like nu-metal. korn were ok. Still wouldn’t buy a pack though.
Nu metal was a nice idea at first.. Mixing the power of metal, the suffering of grunge and the some fresh touch of hip hop… the two firsts albums of korn are simply great, everything went bad after that. Slipknot, System of a down, early Limp Bizkit, early Deftones, and more, were sounding agressive and true right after the death of grunge, but then the 2000’s came, and that genre became awfull.
Well at least that’s how i lived and see that period of time.
No Lifeline ? Dayum…The only song I know from them is not included…

Then again, it could also be state dependant auditory memory. You just need to be really wasted for it to sound any good…
