  1. Sweet! I love the Edgar Winter Group! Definitely will buy Free Ride. Makes me think of my dad since he used to love blasting that song at top volume and jamming along on guitar when I was a kid.

The rest is meh. I might have picked up Crawling in the Dark by Hoobastank, but The Reason is stupid AF.

  2. Love the cars .. Should burn the other 3! For real burn them.. Edgar winter is sooooooo horrible would like to forget music like that ever existed.. The other 2 are so bad,the best thing to do is not talk about them at all..stinky singles pack!

    1. I think someone needs to call your mom and tell her to change the wifi password, maybe give you a time out for once. You said you’re 12 right?

  3. I meant to click yeah yeah Yeah but accidentally clicked the other one. Love the cars, Like the other songs too. Great pack!

  4. Got my bestfriend’s girl, its a blast on lead. also picked up The Cars pack yesterday which was well worth the purchase as well. didnt buy any others from the pack; Free ride and The reason are maybe for me in the future, and Summertime Blues just doesnt really appeal to me to play.

Great variety of Hits nonetheless 🙂

  5. Nice pack. :+1: It’s funny how I anticipate if I’m going to like (or not like) playing certain songs. I just started leveling up Summertime Blues and it’s really fun. Hitting that B7 chord feels good! Love Free Ride too, but too short.

    1. That’s the chord a teenage Paul McCartney purportedly rode a bus across town to learn from some guy.

      1. damn things have changed i could just look up chord shapes on my phone and this guy had to take a bus to learn a freaking chord.

  6. Its a shame the reason made it to rocksmith before Crawling in the Dark and Same Direction (they’re best song)

  7. I was hopping to see “Summertime Blues” as performed by The Who, but it seem it ain’t happening anytime soon. 🙁

  8. Just to make sure everyone knows, “My Best Friend’s Girl” is another case of the song being pitched down, much like “Hitch A Ride” from the Boston Pack. It’s up for debate whether or not they played it in F during recording or whether or not it was sped up after recording, but the tune you will hear in game will sound considerably different from what you’re expecting.

    1. Yes, that pitch-shifting surprised me, too. I am presuming that the extended permission required to get that song repitched was responsible for it not being in the original The Cars song pack.

Given that I recall Ubisoft saying that they try and use filmed footage of the band/artist playing to help with note-tracking, I have just looked at three different live videos of The Cars playing this song (one of which was noted as having dated back to 1979 — a year after the song came out), and it was in E major in both cases, suggesting that the original recording was indeed varisped up a semitone.

  9. I like three songs but Hoobawhat’s it is so depressing while listening started wondering if my shoelace would support my weight if I hang myself from the curtain rail gonna buy three n forgo the discount

  10. Damn, nothing I like besides Summertime blues, and it’s too short and too easy for me to buy. Oh well, I’m sure some people will be happy. Since Megadeth, for me, it’s been really weak DLC (ok I liked the women who rock pack).

      1. I don’t know who ‘fam’ is, but the answer, as you can’t seem to work it out yourself, is since megadeth and besides women who rock. Pretty obvious really.

  11. sigh, another HIT SINGLES pack with a “who the firetruck is that?” band

literally never heard of them, and I don’t mean Eddie 🙂

OK just youtubed it, really? that was a hit? oh my standards really did slip in the noughties

So lots of Americans bought it, it qualifies as a hit I guess, glad it never made it down under

        1. Bazz was just pointing out that Hoobastank aren’t that well known here in Oz.

I also had to look them up and had much the same reaction as Bazz.

The song did make it to #7 on the charts here, but I’ve never heard any of their songs played here on the radio.

  12. I am mostly indifferent to this pack. I would have considered buying Hoobastank’s Crawling in the Dark, but The Reason is a song I’ve heard way too many times. Free Ride has some great guitar playing in it, but its not a song I love or feel like I have to learn.

  13. “The reason” is a great song…to sing in the shower!! Crawling in the dark would’ve been better. Still waiting on that Chop suey single.

  14. Am I the only one tired of all these “Hit Singles” packs? I prefer to get an artist pack not just some random assortment of songs.

      1. It’s a good way to get a wide variety of music out at one time. Besides, I’m not sure there are many folks out there familiar enough with Eddie Cochran, Hoobastank, and Edgar Winter to warrant a full pack by each of these artists.

Plus, I’m sure some songs just fit well within a various artists pack. Case in point, I’m still waiting to see what pack Magic Man and Even It Up by Heart fit into. (C’mon Ubisoft what’s the hold up)?

      2. Thanks for the info. I guess that’s why they make these packs, didn’t know people seemed to prefer them.

        1. I’d rather have the singles pack. At least I may have the option to get 1 or 2 compared to a 3-5 pack of an artist I have zero interest in. Though I wish they would find better songs that represent the 90’s and up

  15. So I pretty much refuse to buy singles from packs because I’m OCD about getting the pack discount and I figure as long as I like the pack overall, there’s value in learning songs that aren’t my favorite.

This is one of those weeks where I wish I wasn’t like that. 3 of the songs seem pretty good and I have no problem with Hoobastank (I’d even be all for Crawling in the Dark), but The Reason is probably among my least favorite songs in all of Rocksmith so far.

  16. Some maybe a little, maybe a little more, and maybe some not enough in my opinion. Who knows until we see it \(un)/

  17. “My Best Friend’s Girl” gave me a “Free Ride” and “The Reason” he has the “Summertime Blues”…
    Nice diverse selection of tunes…

    1. That song kind of works the other way though. Nobody gets that. She’s my best friend’s girl, but “she used to be mine.” Your friend is a dick and clearly doesn’t follow bro code.

  18. Ok…not nice…I am just joshin. Good stuff, just not suited to my mood right now. I will get it later.

  19. All your favorite oldies to accompany you from the 1st to the 44th floor…Lawrence Welk has warmed up the bubble machine to accompany the Muzak.
