Hello Rocksmith fans!

March has been a controversial month to say the least. We had a Bachsmith-esque pack which seemed to fall flat on many of our readers ears (Rocksmith Goes To The Movies), then we had a second helping of Women Who Rock, the debut of Collective Soul, the highly polarizing release of a not so guitar driven band, Imagine Dragons, and finally Hit Singles V!

Before we get to all that let’s take a look at how you felt about February’s offerings, shall we?

Looks like nostalgia won out with @TheOffspring taking the lead, followed by the talented but often bashed, @MCROfficial. Our readers were definitely into Hit Singles IV but clearly there was not much love for Valentines Day

Bassists had some material to work through this month with offerings The Notetrackers (Jurassic Park – Theme), The Pretty Reckless (Heaven Knows), Flyleaf (I’m So Sick), Collective Soul (World I Know), and Edgar Winter’s Free Ride.

This one gets a bit tricky

Pretty unexpected and awesome bass!

Drop D and distorted? We’re in

Nothing too tricky here, just a fun bass line to play

You already know dis gonna be good

Guitar had some gems also this month, let’s check out a few picks.

Epic

Great tone, big stretches, and a guitar solo. The Donnas rock

Fun to play and the tones are really fun to mess around with

The Collective Soul pack delivered in a big way and this song was no exception, watch out for that tap slide! No match for the power of halsb though…

If you’re gonna buy an @ImagineDragons song for guitar, this is the one you want

Time to practice your alt string skipping! We’d recommend the rhythm arrangement as well

Good luck with this one…

While E Standard still comes out on top, there was a new Alt. Lead (Batman – Theme) and some new additions to Drop D, Eb Drop Db, and of course Eb Standard.

Arrangement E Standard Eb Standard Drop D Eb Drop Db
Lead 15 2 2 1
Rhythm 14 3 3 X
Bass 14 2 3 1
Alt. Lead 1 X X X

Which brings us to the question on everyone’s mind…

  1. Tried RockSmith at the movies DLC and I have to say I deleted it off my hard drive, very disappointed but maybe that’s just me. Really surprised with Collective Soul having never heard of them I have to say playing their songs is some of them best fun I’ve had on RS, for me it’s been the best DLC since STP. But that’s the fun of the Tuesdays releases finding out new music, each week is like Marmite some love it, some hate it. Here’s to what April brings ??♥️

  2. 1) collective soul 2) hit singles v 3) women who rock. Loved all three packs and passed on the other two (but willing to listen if anyone thinks they’re really worth buying).
