Rocksmith 2014 DLC 6/13/2016 – Variety Pack II

Hello Rocksmith fans!

Last week we confirmed that we had a Variety four pack on the way to Rocksmith 2014 and with the confirmed song of The Gambler we were already on our way.

A Classic Collaboration anyone? Rounding out the pack are the pop punk stylings of SR-71 with Right Now and the hit song (at least where I live) Save Tonight by Eagle Eye Cherry.

Variety Pack II Song Pack – $9.99 / Steam

Swedish Alternative Pop-Rock, Country, Classic Rock, and Pop Punk? That’s some variety all right!

  1. Ubisoft even suggested playing fingerstyle even though I’m quite certain John Deacon uses a pick for Under Pressure.

  2. Something stinks… Oh never mind it’s just this pack.. Ubisoft should have to pay us $9.99.. This entire year has sucked.. Last good pack was STP…someone there should be fired!!

    1. Just out of curiosity, do you even OWN a guitar or bass? Because if so, I am starting to wonder if someone needs to call social services for the sake of the instruments’ well-being.

    2. Except for those who are into metal, punk, and pop, this year has been rather bland. I wouldn’t say it sucked. There have been some songs that I liked but weren’t worth paying for.

If I remember correctly, it was around June or July last year where the DLC started going off in some new (or not as frequently traversed) directions.

      1. Yeah, I agree completely and the three genres you mentioned are my least favorites (along with country). Going through my RS library I see a lot of great ROCK groups that deserve a second pack. I don’t agree with PJ but I think rocksmith could up the ante a bit in terms of dlc. We need some FUNK up in this bitch!

  3. I hate you all!! Do you know how long it took to get “Right Now” out of my head on in high school!?

  4. I remember arguing over under pressure with vanilla ice fans for hours when he sampled that song…love it and the gambler…I also like the others here. I keep tipping my hat at the selections…they are alright.

    1. And to be honest “the gambler” wasn’t worth the dollar a paid for it just to play it on bass but I hope the guitarists enjoy it and I really hope that it means we won’t see any more country for awhile. Lol.

  5. Meh… Pop or Karaoke. Not my cup of tea unfortunately, especially when they’ve burned two of the clues in one 4 pack.

    1. Keep holding on. I’ve written Guitar One, Guitar World, Total Guitar, and Guitar Player, plus searched online trying to get tabs on this song. I’ve figured out the first 2-3 minutes on my own. Need help for the rest.

Made the request at the Request a Song app too.

      Hopefully some day.

  6. 3 out of 4 of this pack are awesome. But that one song which reminds us that music can be both popular and shit, is neatly wrapped in there. “Right Now” is an Offspring song in an alternate tuning with worse lyrics. I am so happy to have Queen/Bowie, Eagle Eye Cherry and Kenny Rodgers. I guess they call it a variety pack for a reason though. At least “Right Now” has a good solo.

      1. I guess it has more than I gave it credit for. I’ve just never liked the song TBH. I now think I might enjoy playing the guitar though.

          1. Weird, I know the song Right now but never heard Save Tonight before, And I’m from Canada as well 😉

      2. Im pretty sure there’s also a little arpeggio in the build up that the guy in the video doesnt play. Listen at around 25secsonds.

  7. I’m in for the whole hog even though I doubt that “the gambler” is going to be very much fun on bass. Thank you for “under pressure” rocksmith. This feels like the “emergency bowie dlc” I wanted back in January. 🙂

  8. Was torn when I saw the RS tweet earlier. It confirmed our speculation of Under Pressure, but it means no Bowie or Queen pack, this time or likely for some time.

There is enough goodness beyond that I’ll end up buying the pack.
