Rocksmith 2014 DLC 7/28/2015 – Faith No More

Hello Rocksmith fans!

This week’s DLC is certainly Epic with five hits coming San Francisco’s favourite alternative funk metal group @FaithNoMore!

The tracklisting is certainly diverse as it features three songs from Mike Patton’s debut album in the band, The Real Thing. That means that we are getting Epic, Falling to Pieces, and From Out of Nowhere!

Next up is a great song off the masterpiece that is Angel Dust, Midlife Crisis. Also, happy to report that one of my predictions came true as the pack is capped off with a single from King For A Day… Fool for a LifetimeDigging the Grave!

@UbisoftStudioSF has been quite kind to our four string friends lately…

Faith No More Song Pack – $11.99 / Steam

  1. Maybe the stuff improves later in the songs, but the only one that looks like it won’t be a snoozefest on bass is Digging the Grave. I may pick that one up.

  2. Eh, guitar charts for these songs do not look that special. Sounds like this more of a bass pack. I will pick up epic and midlife crisis for nostalgia though. I hope they start making dlc that’s more for guitar again soon. This pack makes me want RHCP rather than the value brand RHCP we got this week.

    1. Almost every pack and song is focused on the guitars while most bass is dull. I’m not sure how you got to that. Sir duke, skinard and primus are the only “challenging” bass lines in months.

  3. I’m not a huge fan of FNM’s ordinary sound, but Digging The Grave is a gem, and I will definitely pick that one up. I need more hard rock in my E Standard.

  4. Well from the lack of posts I can tell how bad this dlc is and only guys like Brian with no actuall lives spend money on this kind of crap

    1. Can we get this guy banned already? Whenever a DLC doesn’t fit his taste his comments are nothing but negativity and ad hominem.

      1. OP isn’t breaking any rules, there’s no reason PJ-10 can’t express his dissatisfaction with the DLC, and there’s also no reason people can’t make fun of him for it.

        Just keep it clean folks.

Not every week can be Skynyrd

    2. PJ, you don’t know me. If you want to be a POS posting negativity about dlc every week, well, to each their own, but please leave me out of it.

    1. Throwin’ a bone here. I saw them at the Shoreline Amphetheater this month. Dave actually did surprisingly well for the first quarter of the show. But with so many fans singing both louder and in the correct key, it’s almost like Dave was just there to fill a fourth man slot.

Now if someone could get EVH to either act his age and mend the bridges or simply shut the hell up, fan reaction to the band as a whole might be a little better. Heard quite a few people talking about how the band sounds better live with Sammy.

  5. I was really hoping for “caffiene” or “the gentle art of making enemies”, but i’m still pretty happy for this.

  6. Definitely gonna buy! But still, wish my favourite song of theirs was included: “Ashes to Ashes”! It has really awesome guitar and is better than “Falling to Pieces” IMO, which I also like, but yeah…. maybe next pack.

  7. My mid life crisis calls out for these songs. Does anybody else have a hard time not getting dlc i think I’m at 500 songs almost?

    1. I can relate. I pretty much buy everything at this point unless it’s way out of my zone of familiarity. The stuff I know the least has been what I’ve been learning the most from (different chords and voicings, new solo patterns, from what I’m used to). One of the most unexpected side benefits from the game has been the exposure to new (to me) music (harder to find the older you get).

      1. Yeah I know how you feel. I have bought nearly every song. Even a lot of the heavier stuff and pop stuff that doesn’t really fit my tastes. I have only regretted buying songs in a few cases. I pretty much buy anything that I have skipped later when the steam sales are on. The great thing is I find myself getting into moods where I will only play one style of music in a session, like a blues mood or a heavy rock mood. Frankly, I’m glad rocksmith just keeps releasing songs every week!

    2. I buy all the DLC as well. Some stuff gets played once or twice on each path and then I don’t mess with it again. It’s nice to have though for when I jam with others. They may want to try that song that I haven’t played in a year. I never regret buying anything just because it’s worth the few dollars to have a couple minutes of something I wouldn’t normally choose to play… and it’s my only vice after booze, drugs, sex and gambling. :smirk:

      just kidding… i don’t gamble.

  8. Cool, I like these. I’m pleased they didn’t bother with ‘easy’ and gave us one of their own instead.

  9. Those lyrics though, I enjoy reading the lyrics whilst watching/playing. I always thought it was Bungle was the experimental stuff and FNM was vanilla, but it really isn’t.

I mean just the vocal patterns, it’s like jazz. You give those lyrics and the song to someone else to sing and it wouldn’t sound anything like this, the phrasing on this song (Midlife Crisis) is so indicative of Patton’s voice.

  10. Well, at least these probably won’t be above my pay grade like trying to bass “sir Duke” was, lol.

  11. Maybe from out of nowhere the only one i can stand ….maybe cause i played too much nhl 2005 in every bandyou can find one or 2 song but 4 sure the rest i cant , Mr. Bungle that i can stand goodbye sober day would make me sing and jizz during chak! Tchakchaktak à tak à tchak

I hate autocorrect cant write properly

  12. Nice pack! I was hoping that Easy (Commodores’ cover) would be part of it, but that’s cool anyway!

  13. As excited as I am to play these songs, they’ll only make me want my Jim Martin wishlist all the more. His playing on Angel Dust is spot on, if occasionally sparse on tracks like Midlife Crisis.
