  1. Not trying to trash anyone’s musical preferences, but it really feels like Ubisoft has little to no desire to bring in new fans. Feels like nearly every month or for sure nearly every year since the high point of RS2014 some form of hard rock, alternative, or metal has been provided in unapologetically larger volumes than any other single genre.

With so much music out, let’s say since the 1950s (explosion the pop/rock n roll era) why is RS DLC feeling so one sided? Why isn’t there more representation from R&B, Country, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop, Gospel, reggae, and Blues? Whole album ideas, Southernplayalisticadillacmusic-Outkast, Rumors-Fleetwood Mac, Brown Sugar-D’Angelo, John Mayall, etc. You have piano available now. How about more Elton John, Edwin Hawkins, Ray Charles, Taj Mahal. There’s so much untouched reggae and Jawaiian music, Kalohe Kai, Morgan Heritage, Black Uhuru, Buddha Iz. There are a lot of worthy funk songs associated with George Clinton, more SRV, John Mayer and more. What about today’s pop artists, Sheeran, Swift, Lacy. How about spreading things around, Andrae Crouch, more from ATCQ, B.B King, or here’s an idea. Do a set of songs that have been famously sampled in hip hop. Now you can bring in Issac Haynes, Isley Brothers, Brick, Ohio Players etc.

Yes that is a lot of names, a small testament to how much is being missed, audiences and money that this game could be drawing in. Again i am not dogging metal in any of it’s forms, but the guitar can be used to play a consistently wide variety of music. The fact that the music this game rests on so often is metal seems lazy minded.  Step away. See all that is out there and understand so many other genres exist, use the guitar, bass and piano, and remain popular. Put WAAAY more focus that the same old same old as now into getting that music in the game. Advertise once that starts happening and maybe the popularity of RS will increase as well. Dylan, George Clinton, Blonde, Springsteen all have coming or recently released biopics. Grad those moments to get more fans.
