Update: Playstation 3 users in Europe will have to wait a bit longer for this DLC Pack:

London, UK – October 22 th, 2012 – Today, Ubisoft ® announced that Rocksmith™ Classic Rock DLC pack is now available for download on Xbox LIVE for Xbox 360 ® in Europe, the Middle-East and Asia. It will be available on October 31 st, 2012 on the Playstation Network for Playstation ®3. This pack will be followed by the Alternative Rock pack and the Metal pack to enrich even more Rocksmith’s track list with different rock styles.

Highly acclaimed in North America, Rocksmith is a revolution in the music game genre: for the first time ever, players can plug any real electric guitar or bass into their Xbox 360 ® or PlayStation ®3 console. Rocksmith is the real thing for those who are serious about guitar learning and playing.

In addition, Ubisoft has released “Timesaver” packs, which will unlock songs, Guitarcade games, venues and more. Unfortunately, rather than simply entering in a button combination in such a way that unlocks the songs like in the good old days, players will need to purchase this perks digitally.

Ubisoft has also stated that there will be no new downloadable songs for RockSmith until the end of October in order to allow for new players to catch up on all the content the game has to offer.

  1. 'Alternative pack? really?maroon 5 (or marron 5 ingame lol) Alternative? foster the p ? alternative? the knack? alternative?
what a joke, and why does everything in Australia cost double the USA price even tho our dollar is worth more????
    RIPOFF!!!!!

    1. I agree Bazz. Our dollar is stronger than the US so we are nearly paying double for no reason that I can see at all. On top of that I can't even buy the tracks I want!

Stop running the banner at the bottom of the game telling me the Foo Fighters are available when you won't even sell it to me on the PS3! It is killing me.

Wish I had this game on PC instead so I could get around the BS PS3 issues.

  2. How about songs that focus on learning chord progressions so you can really learn to play.
Beginner chord songs is a more logical way to learn guitar but it starts you in riffs and single note runs before you even learn chords is ridiculous.
I bought Rocksmith on release day and have bought almost all of the DLC.
I even bought an extra real tone cable.
I think trying to learn "songs" (mostly leads & riffs) without understanding basic chord structure is a mistake.
The first 2 or 3 venues should be just learning & strumming chords.
Then slowly add a few little runs and riffs.

The "play the whole song" thing seems to be real discouraging to the people I've talked to who are just starting on guitar.

    1. Dave, are you a moron?
cant u look up a chord chart on the internet-thingamyjiggy?
THEN you can learn the chords you idiot!

  3. i think you should have the option to purchase all the dlc songs in one pack/payment, i understand splitting it up but please add the option of buying everything, might end up being expensive, but would be worth it as people might want different songs out of the massive dlc packs up there.

  4. Just got Rocksmith, yesterday… Played all night and still tons of songs I haven't touched on, yet. I will probably buy these bundled songs just to support the game.

P.S. Folks wanting a refund after a year of enjoying the product are insane.

  5. This is to allow people who want the DLC to catchup pure and simple it makes business sense for ubisoft to do this. you might not like it but think of all the people who didn't have the dlc available at all, I bet there will still be someone moaning about I want this song from this pack and that song from that pack. the game is worth supporting so bide your time and download what you can afford/like. I don't like the black keys as a band but I still am learning there songs. and would download there stuff as well, it's something to learn to play.

  6. I was so dissapointed Wednesday morning when I found no new songs to download………I looked to the sky and yelled RAT FARTS and wouldn't ya know I was almost damn near struck by lightning!

  7. So do those of us who have dutifully downloaded each 3-song batch every two weeks get a refund on this now? We're the ones who have been keeping the income flowing to Ubisoft this past year, and now people who haven't been supporting the game religiously get a discount on the DLC? Lame.

    1. What you get in return is that you got to play them for the past year. Just like I said to the people complaining about the Rock Band sale, everything goes down in price over time. Quit being a self-entitled little shit.

  8. Yes we do. What is up with this discount? I think ROCKSMITH should try to include more venues that unlock secret songs or "jam along" versions of songs. I get penalized every time I try to add some flavor to a song. What is up with that? Maybe some more mini games like "Jazz Chords From Hell" or a Quick Draw game where you have to complete the scale faster every time. Man, I don't know….but come on! We don't need Twisted Sister.

    1. I agree I have bought every single song that has come out whether i like it or not on my Xbox and ps3 just to support Rocksmith cause I believe in this great game. But my patience is running thin. I haven't been happy at all with some of the song selections.
