Hello Rocksmith fans!

It’s been awhile since we last spoke, but today we have some big news…

That’s right, we finally have a release date, and it’s a WEEK away!

In addition to announcing the release for PC this afternoon, there’s also a contest to enter where they are giving away FOUR guitars, including…

Tool confirmed? 🤭

They’ve also added videos to their YouTube channel

Hey Doug!

Here’s the Press Release from today, which details some of the artists in the 5000+ song library (emphasis mine)

Grab your electric, acoustic, or bass guitar and get ready to improve your skills by playing along with your favorite songs in Rocksmith+, coming to PC exclusively through the Ubisoft Store on September 6. The new subscription service will have the largest catalog of official songs ever offered in a music learning service, and will be regularly adding songs with millions more to come through partnerships with famed labels such as Sony and Universal. At launch, over 5,000 songs across multiple genres will be available from a variety of artists including The Clash, Juan Gabriel, Eurythmics, Cake, Muddy Waters, Natalia Lafourcade, Alicia Keys, Boston, Martinho Da Vila, Peter Tosh, Santana, Van Morrison, and many more.

Plus, if you’ve played Rocksmith before or took part in the Rocksmith+ PC Closed Beta, you can unlock an exclusive loyalty offer at launch: get 1-month free when you subscribe for three months, or 3-months free when you subscribe for a year. Most PC users can access Rocksmith+, and you can check out the PC minimum and recommended system requirements here.

Developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, Rocksmith+ gives you access to the Rocksmith guitar-learning method, which is built on 10 years of successful music teaching experience and has helped over 5 million people learn to play guitar.* Take advantage of features like real-time feedback, which continuously tracks and analyzes your performance while providing instant recommendations, and a suite of practice tools that you control, such as Riff Repeater, Adaptive Difficulty, and more.

You can connect** any electric, acoustic, or bass guitar to your PC with the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable or with the free Rocksmith+ Connect mobile app, which has phone-as-mic technology that uses the on-board microphone to track your playing with no additional gear needed.

From now until September 6 at 9:00AM PT, Rocksmith+ and the Ubisoft Store are offering a chance to win a signature Gibson or Epiphone guitar! You can enter the contest once a day for more chances to win, and winners will be notified by email. Rocksmith+ offers 1-month, 3-month and 12-month subscription options, which you can purchase through the Ubisoft Store. In addition to PC, Rocksmith+ will be available later this fall on mobile. For more on Rocksmith+, check out the official site and stay tuned to the Ubisoft News Hub.

UPDATE:

Ubisoft has launched their song library page but as you expected it’s hiding some content (region specific, that is), thankfully you have us to fix that in a not so pretty but good for now kind of way

  1. I really hope this makes its way to PS4/5 as I have all the 2014 songs purchased there and don’t want to restart on PC.

  2. 100 bucks per year, it sounds like marketing managers don’t expect it to last more than a year. In other words let’s get as much money as possible while the novelty effect lasts.

I am huge fan and supporter of both Ubisoft and Gibson (my wife better not know how much I actually spent on those 2 company products) but this one is no-no for me.

  3. Wow what a disappointment. If this list was a song pack for 2014 I couldn’t find 5 songs that make it worth buying for $10.99.

  4. I stopped reading the song list the second I saw it has 18 backstreet boy song. That’s it. I’m out. I’m done. That is a terrible bs list of songs.

    1. What matters is the songs you want that aren’t there not songs that are there you don’t like. I am sure you didn’t like more than one artist they released packs for in previous games and still continued to enjoy the games. If the rest of the list were the songs you wanted I am sure BSB songs wouldn’t stop you.

  5. Saying I am disappointed with this list would be an understatement.

I’ve spent so much money on on 2014 songs that I actually want to play, it looks like I will be staying there for a while.

It’s good to see Ultraspank getting some attention tho -. FIVE!

  6. I wonder if I can download at midnight on Monday and be the first person in the world to play Life on a chain by Pete Yorn

  7. Yeah – some nice surprises (eg. Michael Hedges, The Chats haha), but most of the songs from any band – expected or not – are not the key tracks you want to learn, or listen to… Also feels like they are throwing a bone with crappy tracks to different countries. I would much rather learn 100 bangers than 5000 WTF is that?

  8. I was waiting for this release for so long that I’m a bit disappointed by the songs list. They obviously focused on quantity instead of quality, and that’s a real bummer for me.

Still going for a one year subscription because I really want to support the team and the game, but I do hope they will release some major titles in the comming months to pursue my journey here.

There is a lot of positive things in this new version but I’d rather stick with 2014 if they only add unknown songs for the sake of adding more songs.

  9. A ton of wiggles songs. A lot of content. But when you look closer, they don’t have the hits from anyone. It’s all b-sides and deep tracks from unpopular albums. They have Rick Astley, but they don’t have Never Gonna Give You Up. I mean, it’s great that they have a lot of titles, but what are the songs I tell my friends about to get them excited about this? What song titles is Ubi excited to be bringing us? I’m not seeing it.

  10. Wanted to share my personal opinion on the song list. Looking through this list I literally had goosebumps. It looks like it was curated by the editor of Mojo magazine. My only complaint personally is that a lot of the songs are ‘chord charts’ but if that feature is decently implemented I can live with it. Also tons of variety in styles which for bass personally I really value, even more variety than 2014…i love this. Thank you rocksmith

  11. Wow, I was pumped for a few minutes seeing 15 HUM songs – then I looked closer and no bass. I started filtering through these and once I went to bass those 10k songs dropped dramatically. That was one thing about Rocksmith and 2014 DLC’s; they had the parts. As primarily a bassist that was great. If they’re advertising these as “look what we have – spend your money with us” and in small print “maybe 1/2 to 2/3 don’t have bass parts”, I think they’ve already lost me. Unless I see something better pop up, I’ll be sticking to my 2014.

    1. Noticed that it’s not just with bass. The majority of songs are ‘chord charts’, when you filter out by guitar it drops down to almost the same number of songs as bass. I think that list is the core game right now, the charts are probably tab. What’s there is more than enough for me personally to sub day one once it hits PS4

  12. The song looks like bottom scraping so they could announce “thousands of songs” without actually curating those songs. Even bands with guitar cred hits have songs that aren’t any of those hits. My guess is they’re acquiring catalogues and will let the community do all the notet racking work for them. Which might be great. It also might mean tons of terrible arrangements a la the tab sites.

  13. I will try it, but I am severely underwhelmed by the song list. Yes, it is vast and there are some decent songs, but most of this crap is stuff you’d hear at an older couple’s wedding. Is this going to be like other streaming services where every month they cycle in new songs and cycle out others? Are we going to be able to port over our DLC from 2014? I have put a lot of money into tunes I actually like to play. Hoping that is not all for not.

  14. Was this funded by a cartel? Looking at the song list, this is a half-baked, “let’s see what A.I. can do for us” type effort. Seriously, what a ridiculous set of tunes. #autismawareness #sinkingship

  15. I will still sub day one, but the library that is currently shown at the site is a bit disappointing. Almost none of the songs I like to play on RS2014 are there, apparently. I hope this is temporary.

    1. “Almost none of the songs I like to play on RS2014 are there”

There are maybe 20 songs on the list out of the previous two games. Either they botched something with the licensing, their own licenses prevent use in this game, or we’re not getting a complete list. I’m willing to wait and see on launch day, and for any news that may come out soon after launch.

  16. I just looked at the library I’ve got to say I am greatly underwhelmed. Is that all the songs being released next week? I love and support Rocksmith and will buy a years subscription but they got to release better songs and note tracks. Are they holding back until the release?

    1. The Rights for Good Songs also costs money?
And hey, they have Metallica. That´s all people wanted…
