Rocksmith+ closes 2023 with Green Day, The Police, and more covers!

Hello Rocksmith fans!

We knew it was coming but we are happy to see it anyway! On Wednesday night we got a drop of under 20 songs but 14 of them are Green Day!

New to the library is Warning and Hitchin’ a Ride

One thing that differs between Rocksmith+ and the Rocksmith 2014 DLC is that all the songs are uncensored 🙀 (won’t someone think of the children?!)

Note: We have noticed that X-Kid is missing in some regions.

Speaking of Rocksmith 2014 thanks to the Stranger Things Soundtrack we have Every Breath You Take in the library again!

We also received a new round of covers including Megadeth’s Hangar 18, Snow Patrol Chasing Cars, Van Halen’s Eruption, and (in certain regions) Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama!

Piano didn’t get much this time around and most of it seems like Guitar as Piano type stuff but six songs ain’t too bad if you factor in Sweet Home Alabama.

There was yet ANOTHER video released which hints at some other upcoming releases in 2024 👀

Confirmation of The Doobie Brothers, Foreigner, more Deftones (from White Pony) and Distburbrbed!

Can we hope for more Paramore as well?

a Cover of Tornado of Souls…

I’m sure some people are going to find a cover of Cherub Rock real funny…

Looks like a lot of covers are coming, 20th Century Rocksmith+ is in the mix

There’s also a promotion (till January 10th) which gives you a 30 day trial when you sign up for a year of Rocksmith+

🍁🍁🍁

In addition to all this, there’s a contest going on via Twitter/Instagram where if you post a video of you playing Rocksmith+ you have the opportunity to win one of FOUR guitars!

  1. I still don’t like the subscription idea. I know netflix, disney, etc. all do it, and I don’t like it there either. I’m old school where I want my music, video, games and apps locally installed where I don’t have to be dependent on an internet connection or being tracked/spied on.

  2. Looks like the trial is new users only. Good on you @SkyMoose for staying positive, the rest of these comments sure getting toxic. Calling RS+ a money grab is weird, but pretending like the software doesn’t have tons of room for improvement is just as weird IMO. Having another record label on board and piano support is a huge step in the right direction for rocksmith, glad to see a lot of what’s teased for 2024. But the game’s framework/menus still need a lot of work, I probably won’t ever pay until they fix a lot of quality of life things.

To name a few big issues present as of the 30-day trial I played last month:

    • Sortable favorites lists rather than the list being in the order you add songs to it. (A-Z, tunings, year, genre, etc, RS2014 let you have multiple lists, and each had 10 or so different sorting options)
    • better song organization (aka things like shakira and many others not being lumped into the “rock” genre search) they probably need to add more genres to sort the songs they have into, mislabeling stuff makes it harder for everyone to find music they want.
    • better hotkeys for menu navigation, I think removing lots of RS2014 hotkeys is mostly a symptom of them not focusing on the console versions that are allegedly not officially cancelled yet, I think, but I miss hotkeys a lot in RS+ compared to RS2014 on PC.
    • an option to speed up the start of songs and disable waiting for the stupid XP counter etc showing after EVERY, SINGLE, SONG. It’s 2023, that’s bad design not load time, and wasting 30-45 sec doing nothing every single song you play adds up.

I could go on but this is already a big post, it’s not that far fetched for someone to be disappointed with it RS+ when all the things I just mentioned aren’t issues in the previous game.

RS+ certainly fixable someday, and I hope they stick with it and keep improving it. But the amount songs I want to play and fighting the menus to play them compared to RS2014 just hasn’t held my attention for more than maybe a week out of 67 days of free trial they’ve given me so far.

  3. Nothing more than a money grab to help unsuspecting people move on from the original Rocksmith…..I honestly don’t think they could add enough songs, covers or otherwise, to make me switch……

    1. >Nothing more than a money grab to help unsuspecting people move on from the original Rocksmith

I also hate when companies provide content to gain customers, it’s such a money grab

  4. Wow! So many additions right at the end of the year and some great ones to look forward to! Finally going to be hitting Rocksmith daily again!
