Hello Rocksmith fans!

Next week’s DLC is sure to have something you’ve heard before as it’s rearrangements of classic movie themes by @UbisoftStudioSF.

Check out @DanAmrich’s clue here

Here is what to expect a Rocksmith take on next week!

Batman Theme (Danny Elfman)

Superman Theme (John Williams)

All I can think about is this… I’m old…

Lord Of The Rings Theme (Howard Shore)

Back to the Future Theme (Alan Silvestri)

Jurassic Park Theme (John Williams)

These are similar to Bachsmith in that they are our recordings, but whereas Bachsmith was approached as a total reinterpretation of the original works, the arrangements of these themes are closer to what you know from the films.

The 5-pack will be available for $9.99, as we still had to license the work, but we did not license the master recordings. These songs will not be available as singles; Rocksmith Goes to the Movies is only available as a 5-pack.

So what songs are you most looking forward to playing on Guitar and Bass? Or is this something that you are just not interested in? Let us know!

  1. take out the lush orchestrations, sorry, synths, and there is little real music left. Pretty lame imho.
Movie themes are not ‘songs’ and without the footage are pretty meaningless.
I’d rather a 5 pack from a massively popular band, but we haven’t had that since STP

  2. Pretty cool stuff. I’ve always loved the dark sound of that Batman score and I have a feeling BTTF will be really fun too. Very interested to see RS’s take on all these songs. I doubt it will disappoint since I loved Bachsmith I and II.

  3. I wonder if the Dances with Wolves soundtrack (looks like a suicide) was ever in the consideration for this pack?

  4. I wish they sold this as singles not just a pack. I think the two that interest me the most are back to the future and Batman other than that I’m not too interested.

  5. Yes. I should have said songs like 6am Salvation and Snarling of the beasts. Because really I like all of them and I want more.

I am not a fan of only choosing music that people know. Some time it is better to be introduced to new music.

    1. I feel a good one coming on… Can’t believe someone else knows who Blackberry Smoke even is… Bunch of good tunes off the Whippoorwill album also… very cool band to see live…

        1. Right on… must be a cracker thang… I saw them in Gainesville last time they made it this far south… Enjoy!!!

  6. Can’t please all of the people……but the RAGE about not getting what you want will always be there from some people?. Hat’s off to Dan, he has the patience of an angel. ? . Cant understand why he won’t reply to the Metallica questions though? ?????

    1. Unsure which Metallica question you mean, but the main one is “why aren’t they in the game?” The answer is “we’ve asked, and we don’t have the license necessary,” and then the rest of the overview is at bit.ly/rsprocess

  7. Ok, the fact that they got anything from John Williams is amazing. Of course Raiders and SW would have been the best, but he’s done such good work, almost anything is acceptable.

Got to admit from Star Wars, a guitar and bass version of “The Forrest Battle” from Jedi would have been one of my most preferred.

Imagine playing this with about 4 guitarists and 2 bass players.

  8. I am really excited about this pack. I love all of these themes and think this is a great idea. I listen to a lot of film scores too, BTTF, Jurassic Park, and Lord of the Rings all have amazing scores. The Batman theme is a throwback to my younger years watching the animated series. I loved that theme. I wholeheartedly support this pack.

  9. Indiana Jones would have been cool for this pack. I’m surprised after Galactic Empire released their star wars theme arrangement that sw didn’t make the cut. Also maybe down the line they’ll have a TV theme pack, early request knight rider, dukes of hazzard (don’t know how to reconcile the banjo part), Seinfeld (for the bassists), and what would you guys request/vote for?

      1. I’ve picked up about 10 songs in the past 6 months. Not a lot in respect to the amount of content that’s put out.

  10. Man, I wasn’t thinking original scores, Yesterday when I was reading the 3/1DLC forums I thought it might be Prince’s BatDance. Huey Lewis for BTTF and such.
I’ll have to watch the samples after launch to decide.

    1. It’s not an either/or situation, though — it’s not movies or TV. The future could well offer both.

Request those themes. This is proof that guitar arrangements of Hollywood stuff can happen.

        1. BlueCollarNINJA everyone knows the best tv themes are british. Only fools and Horses. Minder. The Sweeney. Kilroy.

  11. Well, I sort of got what I asked for. I submitted requests for several TV theme songs a while back. This is close to that!

    1. Rock bottem? Dude… RB4 got Justin bieber and one direction dlc. I can think of a ton of songs I’d rather have than this pack but I can also think of EVEN MORE songs I’d rather not have instead of this. At least its something different.

  12. LORD OF THE RINGS OH MAH GAWD!

Also, speaking of movies. Can we get a Bond theme pack? They tend to be very good (except for Sam Smith on Spectre, seriously it was a bad move choosing him over Radiohead).

        1. So Dan, can you tell me again why there’s no Metallica in Rocksmith2014 yet or do I have to wait for the sequel? Lol

        2. Dan, this is so awesome! I was just trying to figure out the Superman theme the other day, now I’ll have Rocksmith to guide me.

Question: Is there any chance that the talented guitar trackers will release any more of their own music as DLC?

6am Salvation and Snarling of the beasts make me want more.
