Greetings Rocksmith fans!
Following on from the Rocksmith teams previous reveal of screenshots of Rocksmith 2014 Remastered (release date October 4th), they treated us to some more screen shots, this time showing off the new player stats during the Rush II pack live stream.
Some things to get out of the way first;
- Rocksmith has been keeping most of these stats already. This means that everyone will get to see their existing stats as soon as the remastered patch is live, taking the data from when they created their current profile!
- The stats are only view-able in game, no CSV or text files containing the stats will be easily accessible outside of the game.
- Some stats (not seen in this weeks screen caps) haven’t been kept since day 1, but are new metrics that will only begin being tallied once the Remastered update takes effect.
These screen shots are from a pre-release build, so may not end up exactly this way in the patch. They were also taken from Chris Woo’s account (SquirrellyNinja), he is the guy tasked with recording the footage for the DLC trailer videos, as such the stats you see in these screen shots may not make a lot of sense.
I’m not sure how long @SquirrelyNinja has worked as part of the team – but he has managed to play the game for over 310 hours – that is around 8 working weeks! Assuming that time is calculated the same way it is for the 60 day challenge, then it is the time spent with a guitar in hand, be that in Learn A Song, Guitarcade, Score Attack or Lessons – not just idling in menus (unlike the way Steam reports total game time).
The Current and Longest Streak stats seem obvious in their meaning, while some people may consider them to be pointless, I’m sure the mere existence of the stat will be enough to get some people starting up the game each day so as to not reset their streak. What we don’t know is, how long you need to play each day to avoid a streak reset – the 60 day challenge requires an hour a day to count – therefore it is possible this stat was originally being kept with that purpose in mind. Hopefully someone from the UbiSF team will stop by and let us know.
We finally have a way to track our completed missions! This is a big one for the people trying to get the Mission 214 and the Hitting .500 mission game achievements, but had no idea if they were 2 missions away from them or 200.
Songs Mastered should be a fun stat to see come release day, the screenshot threads on /r/rocksmith and the Ubisoft forums will be interesting to say the least. There are some serious bragging rights to be had here, however it is likely to be dominated by the bass and rhythm players and not the likes of halsb, since it seems logical this stat would be taken from across all paths.
The Path Breakdown doesn’t appear to be showing you how much time you’ve spent in each of the paths – but rather how many of the tracks you’ve attempted on each path. Perhaps it is average mastery for that path, again it isn’t entirely clear from these screen shots and wasn’t covered in detail during the stream.
Here we have the Skills portion of the stats, showing us some of the same info we currently see once we complete a song – but also adding a few global figures into the mix as well.
Highest accuracy is pretty self explanatory – I imagine quite a few people will have this one at 100% – since accuracy is based only on the notes you were shown and it isn’t a path dependent stat.
Overall Mastery however, is a figure we’ve never seen before in the game – and is taken from your results on all paths and all songs. Presumably this is only from the paths/tracks you’ve actually attempted, so you won’t get a lower stat because you can’t (or don’t want to) re-tune to play some of the lower tuned tracks.
Longest Streak is a fun one, Non-Stop Play should be good for getting this number right up into silly territory, since Non-Stop Play counts the streak over multiple songs.
Guitar and bass techniques is simply a case of how many techniques you have successfully hit at-least once. Hammer Ons, Pull Offs, Tapping, Slapping, Popping etc are what these are all about. There is no evidence of a provision to see what techniques you haven’t yet managed to do however – or even an indicator of what the total number possible is. I would expect there to be more Bass techniques that the game recognizes, thus competent bass players will have at least one stat to brag about over their “thin stringed peasant” friends.
Unique Chords and Highest Solo Accuracy are possibly stats that haven’t been kept up to this point, hence they show as 0% in these screen shots. Alternatively they have been – and the 0% is more to do with the development build nature of the screen shots. We will find out for sure on patch day.
The Unique Chords Played number does seem like a fun stat to keep coming back to.
“How do you get Lessons Completed being higher than Lessons Attempted? Good question, we think that’s Chris Woo’s crazy account”
– @DanAmrich
I think we should just chalk those weird figures up to being a pre-release build and the weird things that go on when an account is mostly used for testing things and recording footage.
Here we have some stats about the songs we choose to play, Distinct songs played would be a tally across all paths. So if you have only played a song once and only on rhythm, it’ll still be counted here.
There is an achievement for having played every Rocksmith 2014 on disc song once, the Disc Songs Played seems like a stat borne out of that originally. This number should top out at 55, or 66 depending on if the un-lockable songs are included or not.
I fear that the Song Playthroughs and Songs Owned stats could be used as evidence in divorce proceedings at some point.
Most Played Song and Most Played Artist are calculated across all paths and tracks, so they may not always end up having an obvious correlation. These could provide for some embarrassment amongst players when the stats start showing up…… I’m fairly sure my most played song across all paths will be “Ain’t No Sunshine” but am hoping the artist is Rage Against The Machine or Rush, to give myself some semblance of redemption.
My wife likes to play Ain’t No Sunshine on bass, so we use it as a warm up track – that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
The Overall Accuracy stat is an average of everything the game can detect. This should actually be an interesting stat to see amongst users, since a player that prefers to let the Dynamic Difficulty system do it’s own thing and attains a 70% Mastery, could potentially see a really high number here. While someone that prefers to manually set every track to 100% difficulty would be getting a much lower overall accuracy figure here, while attaining the same Mastery %. This stat should really take on some extra relevance when combined with the Overall Mastery stat that can be found within the Skills tab.
The other tabs were not shown, but JarMacSF did mention that the Guitarcade / Highscores tabs will now show your top 5(ish) scores, not just your single highest. It was likened to being more of a classic arcade system High Scores screen, rather than just showing the single top score the way the Guitarcade currently does.
We’ve seen some interesting changes so far and everyone has their own favourite amongst them.
What stats are you most looking forward to seeing? What Rocksmith players do you most want to see screenshots from? Who at @UbisoftStudioSF team do you most want to share their stats?
Or do you not care about the stats? Are there features announced for Remastered that you most want to see a screenshot of?
Let us know!
When you mention the speed of the song – do you mean the Beats Per Minute (BPM) or the scroll speed of the chart?
The scroll speed is a setting within the chart (certain songs have lead scrolling MUCH faster than rhythm or bass, for an eg check out Satch Boogie) and isn’t tied to the BPM. For me, a super fast scroll speed chart can be much more difficult to play than I imagine the same chart would be at a slower scroll speed.
BPM (or note density) is what I meant.
I don’t remember being able to adjust the scroll speed. I thought that the song scrolled according to it’s tempo. I can’t imagine it being otherwise.
I know its a different game but its related…..on rock band 3 there’s a setting called “breakneck speed” that speeds up the scroll of the highway coming at you while keeping the same tempo. At first it seems really fast but once you get your head around it you see that now the notes appear more spread out relative to one another and are thus easier to see and make fast passages easier to “play”. (It also improves your reaction time, lol)
You cant alter the scroll speed, it is a setting – per chart – that is defined when UbiSoft make the note chart. Like I said above, check out Satch Boogie as an eg, the lead chart has an insanely fast scroll speed, while the bass and rhythm charts are much slower.
Can’t wait for this and the new songs to come out. I’ve been wanting to see my overall accuracy since the beginning.
It’s interesting to be places like Comic Con and overhear folks talking about RS. There are a lot more people playing this then I knew. And yet there are people I talk to that don’t know about it and say “about time something like that came out.”
Hope that we can get some more big names soon – U2, Black Sabbath, etc.
P.S. “thin-stringed peasant” LOL Jarred Dines, King of Bass, A One Act Play, I can just see it now.
The changes are welcome. But they really should have included song speed in the search features, considering how important tempo is to music. And only 5 play lists? It’s 2016. DOS is dead.
Glenn Reid. Now we can see in more detail how shit we are
We can already see that, that’s why we practice
We need 5 string bass and 7 string guitar support, not this ;-;

The last month on xbox if i buy a song on my 360 i cannot get it on my xbox one like i have been able to in the last year or so… So this week i buy the rush pack on my xbox one and nothing… Didnt even download… Microsoft live help said i didnt have the licence to download it even though they can see i paid for it… What is going on with rocksmith servers lately???
It’s not the servers it’s the Xbox Dashboard updates it seems
The Riff Repeater yes i think so too
Louis Duggan this looks nice
It’s cool that it’s gonna be an update
Too bad broadcasting Rocksmith really isn’t an option, share is only screenshots because everything else is blocked, its a bummer, too bad something couldn’t been done to improve the share feature on the ps4 versions.
Music Licensing
Yes, I know its ridiculous, if its a game, an instructional game at that, I’ve heard YouTube strike videos from guitar instructors because it sounded too close to the real thing, like I said its a bummer.
Can’t wait for the patch
Will it combine my PS3 and PS4 time played, or just each console? The patch looks fantastic
just each console
Darn. Thanks
If there was a great time to release big packs that have been on the back burner (nirvana,r.Stones, pearl jam, ccr, chilli peppers) or REALLY big artists that nobody thinks we will ever get in rocksmith (kudos on marley ,jackson and elvis) think this is a good time to do it , lot of new people going to hop on , from oct 4th to end of feb Im expecting some amazing additions…I could see dire straits, coheed & cambria(maaaaybe), scorpions, 5 finger death punch as realistic …Cash, Ozzy or Sabbath more wishful kinda thinking . I think realistic packs or more singles from paramore , foo fighters , lenny kraviz, fleetwood mac , silversun pickups, blink 182, s.o.a.d, artic monkeys( single) , bowie, cooper, jack white, deftones, pumpkins could be possible .
There’s your Fleetwood Mac single ahead of schedule. Lol
This is probably the feature I’m most excited about.
eep
Rocksmith to me is basically Learn A Song and Riff Repeater (and Tone Designer but I got my custom sounds done long ago so it’s not something I need to revisit). I have very little familiarity with the other functions even though I did the beginning quests that took me through a variety of features. Those other features didn’t really pull me in.
The key missing functions for me in RS are:
1) the means to sort songs according to how fast they are (however that’s measured) because speed of song correlates with difficulty of song very very strongly and I don’t often feel like being hurried along.
2) play lists so I can organize the songs according to my wants. If I’m in the mood for a particular type of song, I don’t want to scroll past 200 other songs, all beckoning me to play them. But, how I categorize music is not how other people categorize music.
3) pause anywhere anytime just like any other music application for the same reasons.
Unfortunately, although RS does calculate song speed somehow, that will not be a feature in the updated sort function even though song speed is a crucial distinction for everyone.
Playlists are limited to only 5 thereby limiting our ability to categorize songs as we see fit. Windows Media Payer has no limit on number of song lists as far as I am aware.
P.S. “thin-stringed peasant” LOL Jarred Dines, King of Bass, A One Act Play, I can just see it now.
