Rumour: Rage Against The Machine finally arrives on Rocksmith 2014

Doesn’t this image look familiar?

MythicWall posted this image on the Rocksmith Forums earlier today which clearly shows that Rage Against The Machine is headed to Rocksmith 2014!

Last time this happened was with Weezer and the DLC came next week, so get your pick-up selector switching skills up to par and shorten your guitar strap!

You may have noticed in the title we included the word “Finally” well there is a good reason for that…

It has been too long, damn you @DMC_Ryan!

What is your ultimate RATM pack? Here is what we hope to see.

That’s one way to get Maynard into Rocksmith!

COME WIT IT NOW

Hmm, well maybe not “next week”

  1. So next week we’re getting a three bands three pack…

I’m curious, is it gonna hit the same genre? Will it be themed? Unknown bands? More low difficulty songs or tricky ones?

    hmm..

  2. RATM is a band i’m waiting to see as DLC since RS1.. i’m really disappointed it’s not for next week..
It seems that band was pleasing everyone (except Matt), and it’s the first time i see it on TRR..
it means it would sell very well, and it’s very ironic as RATM is politically anti-capitalism …
so i really hope it will come soon.
Next week’s DLC will have to be a very impressive mixed pack if Ubi don’t want to see a rage coming from the fans we are…
    maybe a pack like : Primus/NOFX/Tool………. 😀

  3. This would be sweet. is it possible to release the first album? it would be nice if they started doing that. start with rage then californication then black album or something. alsp could please have black stone cherry and blues deluxe by joe bonamassa?

  4. I hope this happens soon. I need some more stuff to test and improve my skill (yes I’m still working on the Megadeth solos, Satch Boogie and Cliffs of Dover but variety is nice dammit!).

  5. 5-pack
sleep now in the fire 😐
    bombtrack 😕
    bulls on parade 🙂
    testify 😀
    killing in the name of

  6. I’m probably the only one here who is not willing to suck off the members of rage against the machine. Audiosalve would have been a better choice for my ca$h. I’ll definitely pass on this one.

  7. I would buy a motherfucking 20 pack of RATM songs in a heartbeat. Eventhough I already know most of them. Literally any 5 pack will be good enough. So so disappointed when I saw Woo’s tweet at the end of the article.

There is always hope for the future.

  8. I’ve always thought Rage was a strange choice for music games. I love the band, but so much of Tom Morello’s appeal comes from how he manipulates the sounds his guitar makes rather than what notes he’s playing. I love the band more than enough to buy the pack, but I’m not sold on how well the guitar parts will translate and how fun they’ll be to play.

    1. I can’t speak for Tom, but Timmy C’s basslines are some of the funnest groove laden riffs that a beginner can learn. And not all of his stuff is super beginner either.

Bullet in the Head for example has some nice tritone double stops in it and thumb action. Intro to Calm Like a Bomb. Take the Power Back has some nice basic slap. Bulls on Parade has a mini bass solo. Bombtrack has to be in a RATM pack though. Iconic.

      1. Good point. The problem with Rage bass lines, though, is that they’re so repetitive. Then again, so are most bass lines. So never mind.

  9. This cannot come soon enough! Can this be our first 10-pack? 12-pack even??

And in regards to another comment on here, I certainly hope they have a deal with RHCP still. That’d be some great DLC, too!

  10. This will be a fun one!
As a side question (not a request) – Does RS still have a deal with Chili Peppers?

    1. Btw, i got a 50 mb update for rocksmith 2014 on xbox today. Do anyone know what it did fix or if there are new features?

  11. The catch with RATM is that the tracks have to be Rocksmith compatible. Some of Morello’s stuff just can’t be put into notation on a screen.

    1. I’m sick of hearing this crap. I’ve got an official RATM tab book, it’s perfectly feasible to do a transcription for the songs. For the unorthodox parts you could still transcribe a melody or progression over them.

        1. Official tab book means nothing. I learned this back when Nivana’s Nevermind tab book came out and “Come as you are” was so poorly written that it was obvious it was not the correct way to play it.

        2. I agree, it can be transcribed. However, not everyone could play it as Morello does. For example, to play “Know Your Enemy,” you would need a guitar with a toggle switch and a Rocksmith mechanic to tell you to abuse the shit out of it haha

      1. It’s feasible to play, but it won’t sound anything like it does when Tom plays it. Much of what makes his music so good is that he manipulates his guitar in ways beyond simply plucking its strings. Your tab book has the guitar parts, but IMO they are relatively boring to play or listen to without the rest of what goes into it.

  12. Needs more of everyone on that list. I’d like to see some more Lenny Kravitz and KoL. Maybe some Prince.

  13. FINALLY SOMETHING AWESOME!!!! This pack is gonna rock, I hope they include sth from “Renegades”, which IMO is the best cover album in the history of music, and their best album on par with debut. It looks like it was well worth the wait, considering last two months in DLC was a dry spell (since the Doors only Dylan was worth the money, rest was, pardon the pun, Garbage. And the last AWESOME DLC’s were Oasis and R.E.M.) My dream RATM 5-pack would be: Maggie’s Farm, Freedom, Bulls, Guerilla and KitN because is classic.

  14. should have know they would shoot it down they still have to release another crappy band like the killers probably before we see anything as good as RATM
