Hello Rocksmith fans!
April showers bring May flowers and you know, also new Rocksmith 2014 DLC!
Let’s take a look at @DanAmrich’s clue for this week.
Wow, that was fast and of course Dan confirmed it a few posts later.
Now — this is part of a 4-song variety pack. It’s actually called Variety Song Pack I. And while we use that term a lot, because our library has a very wide range of styles and artists, this is the most concentrated pack of WTF I’ve seen in a while. These four songs are as different from each other as they can be. So if you are excited for “Little Talks,” great — just know that the other three songs do not sound anything like it, and take that as a good thing or a bad thing as your personal tastes suggest.
Another artist will be teased Monday, and Tuesday will have the full reveal as usual.
No point of speculating on our behalf of what else is coming next week, you’ll just have to wait till Monday like everyone else. Also we aren’t exactly sure if this week corresponds with “A cold one” or not…

I’m tired of people saying that there is no good music in the past ten years. Have you tried looking, or just lazily turn on the radio, and instantly judge everything. So cynical, and close minded. You have to actually look for the good stuff, and there is amazing music out there. A lot of great progessive bands, and metal bands. Glad to see people mention Opeth. How about some instrumental prog? Scale the Summit, I built the sky, just to name a couple. Never seen anyone list Seemless. They’re a great heavy blues band, and would be perfect for rocksmith. A good song by them is “War and Peace”. One of my most desired bands. some complain about all the mainstream music, but from what I’ve read the past several months that’s all you talk about, and request. You’re music is more mainstream than you think. Open your musical library, and give something else a chance. Sorry had to vent
Not only do i listen radio , youtube or take show list and see what they sound like you dont know me i dont know you we dont know each choices in life that makes us the person we are there band that sound the same in what i listen but melodically its more advanced and sound different instead of todays band that dont want to sound like this and try that mixolydian scales with three inversion and finish à diminished 13th à the end just to be special or different ( sounds like shit ) or trying new concept or creating à new style or one that hasnt been played from eon. For sure im not open minded you know me alot when igive my opinion i says that band is shit not that the person is à scatologic narrow minded selfish person ( sry love amplification ) . 7-8 string guitar is à good thing but does all band with 7-8 string do good music for me not all , opeth Has good moment but after seeing them live almost fell asleep maybe they didnt played with enough emotion maybe they doesnt care about emotion maybe it was à bad day i dont know but what i heard those 2 show they were in plus those 3 album on my brother PC maybe 1 song i can listen till the end , some good acoustic in it but the song turns bizarre all the time theyre not bad muscician but play à style that i dont understand for me theres something missing . I do listen to band that sound the same because i like the energy it give , the lyrics , the emotion i felt while listening and if those 3 criteria are in a song or album for sure im gonna listen. Lyrics of today are selfish , mean almost nothing or just aintinmy value i can understand bandmaking song with funnylyrics but i doesnt last à career. For sure im not open in my musical taste after all i heard in life , there genre i bannish because idontlike something jazz , funk, rnb, rap , doommetal , norwegian metal , liquid metal , folk of today , pop of today , for sure sometimes in those categorie i can find something listenable , because à good musician what ever style he plays , im able to understand or fell his song , and for me that feeling happen vert very very rarely in 10 years , i didnt list all genre i like or dislike nor band with à full explanation of why it sound like poo in my ear . Im happy that you wrote this paragraph butmy opinion i got it from learning music and bymy taste that i developp through years when younger i was listening to electric music rap , and then à friend when iwas 11 made me listen still waiting by sum41 that change the way i listen to music in some 3 min and then the next 1 was Crazy Train by Randy Rhoads after that songit really change it all ill remember that day for a very long time . If you ever have the courage to fully read and ask question about my answer go ahead but dont ever says im à close minded . I prefer chocolate and you white chocolate , theyre both chocolate but their taste if full of difference. ( lol i didnt tough about it but after writting that chocolate sentence lolll brown or dark chocolate is real while white is some what artificial if you know chocolate ingredient , againi didntmeant to write it for that ) have à good life listening to what you want!
I know you’re not open minded when you judge all modern music as the same. You haven’t listened to everything. My comment wasn’t specificly aimed at you, just at all the complainers over the past year. I can’t respond to everything you wrote, a bit hard to understand with the grammar. Not all lyrics are selfish. There is a lot of empowering stuff out there. Music today is better in some ways, because we’re not stuck listening to what is on the radio, or television. We have more freedom, and choice than ever. It doesn’t bother me that you don’t like a band, or say that it’s”shit”. There are plenty of bands i don’t like. I just don’t understand how you can say all modern music is terrible. There is good, and bad music from every decade. Never called you selfish, or judged. I asked the question have you tried looking for modern music, or just judge everything off of what is popular? Yes it is cynical, and closed minded to say all modern music is horrible. That’s just an observation. Never attacked you personally.

I dont find it hard that is Hardly listenable. Guitar is way meaner in Céline Dion song , theres nothing to play in that song a 15-20 second track on repeat . Flogging Molly are divinity compare to thèm , sigh hope to get song from 77 – 89 best Era for métal hard rock éven pop was listenable and 1000 Times better than any song coming from the last t’en years , simplicity is winning , not All song that are hard are good to but pourcentage is way higher . Hope for guitar track each 3 month i can say id buy 1-2 pack plus 2 to 5 song nor is track like this where you dont learn anything bécause guitar isnt centered or éven the 2-3 instrument in importance , i cant stand choice like this . It almost Says we just want money over poor one that doesnt Put enough effort to learn hard one , maybe is not what they want being good enough , im afraid that m’y conclusion is this game can Help you to learn how to play but for begginner when you reach level 4-5 on 10 is over you wont learn anything else and that level you earn it playing through a variéty of song . Wish there was no n’es music after 2005-2006 it wouldnt get me sad each Time i hear a new one , but… That s m’y opinion if you lové that millenium music go ahead ill leave it All to those who love that

Interesting. Icelandic music is great, I guess they have little else to do. I will probably get this pack or at least the track.
My sole and only criticism of the mixed packs is the game doesn’t have a way of easily sorting to find the new tracks.

I’ve found that if you have played all your songs at least once through “learn a song” then if you sort by “recommended” anything new you buy should show up at the top of the list. 🙂
Recommended sorting will always list the DLC you just bought in first place 😉
I though so too until I bought a second console and started playing on it. I downloaded my old dlc but didn’t replay them all and now each week when I buy new songs they do not always appear at the top of the recommended list. Other older songs that are easy and show 0% mastery show up on top instead and I have to search by artist/title to find the new stuff.
I’m still enjoying Crobot and Rise Against. Both solid packs.

I just may snap.. Ubisoft has made Rocksmith into the garbage heap of shit that other game won’t put on their set lists.. At least I’m saving money for the past 5 months,because none of the stuff put out this year has been good at all!
I’m sure that none of us would protest were you to simply treat the upcoming week’s release as if it had been a Coldplay pack instead.

What was the setlist of those game before and after they crashed ?? ( haha ) and they tried to savetheir gamewith some new song or fresh band while the pack that sells the most are band older than 20 years sometimes 40 or 50! I didnt want to say thing in a mean way , i have the right to give an opinion . I like the variety packs, good chance to get at least one buy. This song is popular, though it doesn’t scream guitar to me.
So let’s see, if the genres are as far apart as possible, and we’ve started with folk/indie rock, maybes next we’ll go to zeuhl, them how about some rap, and then throw in some Latin soap opera ballads. That’s some pretty good variety I think.
I am seriously looking forward to whatever else is in this pack. For the 2 people on this site who haven’t heard Of Monsters and Men, there are 138 million other people who have watched the video for “Little Talks” so you definitely can’t say that this song isn’t a huge hit.
