Speculation: Rocksmith Newsletter Hints at May DLC

Hello Rocksmith fans!

Hot out of the e-mail press is the Rocksmith Newsletter, giving us our monthly cryptic hint at DLC to come!

“The Sound of a Heartbeat Pounding Away”

Well, not much to be said about heartbeats pounding away

“A Cold One”

Okay, how about a cold one?  Could we be referring to a beer?  (Hmm, “Say it Ain’t So” is already on-disc…) How about some Stevie Ray Vaughan?

Could we finally be in for the long overdue debut of Coldplay?

“Something Fuzzy”

This one has us stumped- could we be referring to tone?  A band?  Does fur count as fuzz?

What would you like to see in May’s DLC?  Sound off in the comments below!

  1. A Cold One: Kiss – Cold Gin maybe?

Something Fuzzy: This must be Nazareth – Hair of the Dog that (announced as part of this week’s DLC)

Sound of a Heartbeat Pounding Away: Has got to be Huey Lewis – The Heart of Rock and Roll.

  2. While I know 90% of us guessing bands who may have appeared in the Billboard top 10 are probably going to get the answers to these clues wrong, it’s still fun to guess.

Question: Would a Leppard be considered fuzzy?

    Just thinking of the possibilities.

  3. I hope I’m wrong but meryl Streep sings a song called a cold one in the film Ricky and the flash maybe songs from movies pack

  4. Since it is May, how about some Mae?
Silversun pickups refer to their sound as the fuzz and Panic switch is one of my fav tracks on the game.
Would be amazing if something cold referred to Cold Company and we get more minus the bear.

    1. YES!!!!!

Can’t believe I missed that. Got to be Huey Lewis and the News. Good call!
      Heart of Rock N Rock
      Heart and Soul
      Hip to Be Square
      Workin’ for a Livin’

Theres too many to call on.

        1. Oh forget it, that was the clue for the band we got last week, that’s too bad. Would have preferred Huey over that any day

  5. Here are my guesses:

Cold One = George Thorogood – “one bourbon, one scotch…”

    Something fuzzy = ZZ Top?

Yeah, I doubt we’d get two blues acts in the same month but one can dream, right? 🙂

  6. Would love for SRV to finally make it to Rocksmith, however; as monumental as that would be, I’d think Ubisoft would save a gem like that for the holidays. The same can almost be said for ZZ Top.

Now, on to another clue. The sound of a heartbeat. Could we finally see some reggae?

  7. something cold, well I can think of a few Frank Zappa songs having to do with the cold. Watermelon in Easter Hay, Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow and Nanook Rubs It, Comsik Debris (asteroids are cold in space right?) or maybe it’s hinting at Foreigner, Cold as Ice? Or going back to Zappa something fuzzy could be Peaches en Regalia… Please?

  8. How about ‘a cold one’ being Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band? Sliver Bullet being a Coors and all. I’d be in for that, but would still prefer SRV.

Fuzzy peach? Eat A Peach … More Allman Brothers? Blue Sky would be very welcome.

  9. I hope the cold one refers to Cold. Would love to learn Suffocate, Happens All the Time, Remedy, Stupid Girl, etc.

    1. Also worth noting that the heavy fuzz riff in that song is/was played on bass. The guitar bit is boring as fuck during the heavy bit.

  10. Being from Pennsylvania, I was able to see Kix a lot in the 80’s. I’m hoping for COLD SHOWER. Once while seeing them, I was at complete universal oneness with that riff. Might have been the acid… but would still dig a Kix tune on RS.

      1. Are you THE Craig McCracken, the creator of such masterpieces as Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, or are you just a fan? Had to ask.

  11. Sure hoping for some SRV.

At this point, I may be done with buying DLC until something like SRV, ZZ Top, or Grateful Dead shows up. There is too much I’ve bought and don’t play enough.

I don’t think they (or anyone) caught my request to fill the extra time on the stream with Albert King and SRV. Reason was Albert’s bday was last week and SRV was also big time influenced by Lonnie Mack, who died last week. Though, by that, they could have played many songs, especially Allman Brothers.

    Anyway, YES, please, on SRV.

  12. I bet “something fuzzy” refers to Peaches by PUSA.

We desperately need some SRV in the game, so I hope you’re right about Cold Shot.

    1. Life by the Drop by SRV would be good as it has been in a previous Ubisoft game – Guitar Hits
