Speculation: Rocksmith 2014 brings Queens of the Stone Age back

Greetings Rocksmith fans!

This week we have another Top 40 Artist coming to the Rocksmith 2014 library! Now they may have been on Rocksmith and had a DLC song but Queens of the Stone Age (@QoTSA) are always high in demand!

How did we figure out this week’s DLC? Let’s take a look at @DanAmrich’s clue!

Gertrude Caton-Thomson Jean Vander Pyl
Proconsul africanus Mary Leakey

Right on, and guess what… No One Knows is confirmed and it’s a five pack!!

Already featured on Guitar Hero, and Rock Band (Pro Chart) take note Rocksmith fans, this song is in C Standard!

Wait, what are you trying to tell us? Is it this?

Update: it’s not, but it’s still one of our picks for tomorrow 🙂

Another classic song from Guitar Hero III and later Rock Band!

What other three songs would we hope or expect in this five pack?

A more laid back selection but features a great guitar solo and was included on disc for Guitar Hero 5

An extremely dark song off their latest album…Like Clockwork (2013)

A long shot, but hey why not right?

Are you excited for the Queens to return? Or is this one music royalty you will not bow to? Let us know!

  1. Hey guys, if you sing the riff from No One Knows with the Doos in the tweet, it sounds just like the riff. So 3’s and 7’s ain’t confirmed. (though i’m still wishing)

  2. What a man gotta do to get a Neil Young pack..

    Down by the river
    Rockin in the free world
    Fu@kin up

Ubisoft is that to much to ask???

            1. It’s pretty dang funny, no? They also do “Whip My Hair”. And that’s really Bruce Springsteen.

  3. My predictions:

    No One Knows
    3’s and 7’s
    Burn the Witch
    Little Sister
    I Sat by the Ocean

  4. No one knows is good enough to get pack for me. I bet next pack is nirvana since it has to be Dave grohl related

  5. ‘Broken Box’ would fit the ‘Doo Doo Doo Doo’ hint, a bit. I’d like to see ‘Regular John’, ‘How To Handle a Rope’ and then they can squeeze Kyuss in there too with ’50 Million Year Trip’.

  6. This is one of those bands that I wish I liked more than I actually do but I’ll buy it since its not metal, lol.

  7. I’ll most likely buy the pack, but I hope the tunes are WAY better than the one that’s already on RS.

  8. I listened to Stevie via… Got those Roth albums… When I was 13… And the black keys pack is pretty good.

    1. Good to hear, glad you like it! 🙂

Next for Vai, check out “Passion & Warfare” and “The Ultra Zone.” Probablt his two best solo albums, but of course that is an opinion not a fact.

  9. Too many good songs to count. I am sure anything they put out I will be into. Thank you much Rocksmith!

  10. QOTSA? Ermahgerd:
    Little Sister
No One Knows (Dan amrich Confirmed)
3’s and 7’s (or Sick, Sick, Sick)
Smooth Sailing (or If I Had a Tail)
    First It Giveth

    I’m gonna LOOOOOVE this!

  11. Well thank god I didn’t get my hopes up for it to be anything remotely good ….maybe next..not!!

    1. You have been quite negative lately. Try looking for something positive in this like “Now I can focus on that Black Keys pack I bought longer” or “Now I will have time to listen to some Steve Vai and see how masterful that dude is”

  12. ermahgerd, I am so hyped! A band that has so many songs so many good memories attached to it. My predicted 5-pack would be with actually possible songs imo (and memories in brackets):

    1. No One Knows (well this one is confirmed, but still… one of my childhood best friends is usually the driver that brought us down to his place near Balaton, the usual designated holiday spot – this was one of the songs that we could get into together and try to sing loudly without knowing the actual lyrics to the annoyance / entertainment of the other passangers – mostly due to the really fun video clip this song has)
    2. Make it with Chu (one of my favorite love / sex songs ever, and one of the few songs that actually played a big part in me getting laid – Led Zeppelin: Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You being another, but that is never going to happen in Rocksmith; steps to follow: create the good environment that supports 2 people getting funky, put this songs on, when Josh starts to sing I wanna make it with chu, sing it with him, then lean in for the kiss)
    3. In My Head (this is the song I first really liked when tuning in to the band – I do not like it as much today, but I still hope this will be included for nostalgia’s sake)
    4. 3’s and 7’s (no special memories for the one, but I’m guessing cause it is fairly popular)
    5. If I had a Tail (okay, I just want this badly :D)

  13. Just can’t get into this band. I’ve tried, but it doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t get the Kyuss comparisons I have heard, I love Kyuss and have all their records but no, can’t get into these guys. It’s good, so I am not sure why it’s not grabbing me. I don’t think I like his voice, maybe that’s it.

    1. kyuss….*sighs* those on rocksmith…i’d buy complete records if they’d offer it…
and i don’t think you can compare them to each other still i love EVERYTHING that kyuss evolved into. brant bjork’s stuff is awesome everything that garcia touches makes me love that guy even more then before and homme’s stuff never disapointed me. not sure if oliveri ever did more then mondo generator but thats was nice too. kyuss ….kyuss gimme kyuss goddamit! now!

  14. Don’t make me beg, just f*ck me.

Anything is welcome to me. Deep cuts like The Fun Machine, Battery Acid, and You Can’t Quit Me would be amazing to see.
