Speculation: Rocksmith Newsletter hints at December 2019 DLC

Hello Rocksmith fans!

We got the newsletter, and with it comes the final clue of 2019 for Rocksmith Remastered DLC!

Let’s see what UbiVertigo and @UbisoftStudioSF are hinting at, shall we?

Let’s take care of the two obvious ones…

We know where we’re going

Weezer II

We keep an eye on the crown

There’s another one for the ABBA pack

Some ups and downs

Alright, it’s the FINAL DLC of 2019, let’s think big…

2011 – Megadeth, Free Holiday Pack, The Black Keys
2012 – Pantera, Nickelback, Foo Fighters
2013 – The Who / JRock Singles, Disturbed, Muse/Golden Bomber
2014 – Bon Jovi, RATM, Hendrix
2015 – Skillet/Band of Merrymakers, Tenacious D, Motley Crue, STP
2016 – Variety Pack VI, CCR, Green Day II
2017 – Steve Miller Band, Alice In Chains II, Johnny Cash
2018 – Alice Cooper, FFDP, The Rolling Stones

2019 – Weezer II, ABBA, ???

The first pack from Aerosmith was met with mixed reactions, could it be time to revisit with some of the sorely missing hits such as the above?

They’ve been up

they’ve been down

but they haven’t been in Rocksmith yet!

from ABBA to ZZ Top?

I hear Billie Eillish personally requested Van Halen this week

I think everyone wants a second pack

Here’s some other possibilities…

What do you think @UbisoftStudioSF and @Rocksmithgame are hinting at for the final DLC of 2019? Are you excited? Let us know!

  1. don’t understand why we haven’t gotten Ozzy or Black Sabbath yet.

A 15 pack of ramones would be pretty cheap and easy to do

  2. I’m going to guess it won’t be “Nine Inch Nails – Down in It”. (“I was up above it. Now I’m down in it”) Because that would be a strange pick. But I would love some Nine Inch Nails someday.

My real guess is “Janis Joplin – Down and Out”. Janis Joplin would be very “Rocksmith” and a good pick for end of year artist. A pack with Piece of my Heart and Cry Baby. I can see it happening…

    1. Love the NIN guess, that would be awesome but the end of the year timing wouldn’t work especially after a questionable pack for some like ABBA. Janis would be great as well, I’ve always wanted piece of my ❤️

  3. Would the crown be referring to King Crimson… I’m up for a Mandy Soundtrack pack, feat Starless by KC, Divebomb Blues feat Sunn O)))) and the theme (adapted from synth).

  4. I’d take a second Yes pack with Close to the Edge, please. Or make it a Prog Epics pack with Rush’s 2112 and Uriah Heep’s Salisbury.

      1. Only Close to the Edge matches the clue, the other two were just random picks off the top of my head to round out a theoretical prog 3-pack.

  5. As much as I want to see more system, Bounce is more of a deeper cut, and for a while it seems like the RS team prioritizes songs based on the number of plays on spotify, so it’s not likely that’s the clue’s song.

I have hopes for the last song pack, even if this has been the year where I’ve bought the least amount of packs by far, and December hasn’t been any better for me, I’ve enjoyed every every other year’s final pack, so maybe my luck saw the downs and it’s time for the ups.

  6. If this is a Public Enemy pack I will love it!!!

“Get up, get, get, get down
Late 911 wears the late crown”

Some hot samples of guitar, plus potentially Anthrax / Slayer in the mix…

    1. For reference, it’s a joke, she was asked during a night show a question about Van Halen and she replied that she didn’t know who they were, and of course, part of the internet took that wrong and made jokes out of it.

Personally I don’t blame her, she makes pop music so I guess she must be into that. I’m into rock/metal, so if somebody were to ask me about an 80s pop act, I’d most likely give the same reply, even if said act was big at the time.

      1. Ahh right. That’s fair enough. I don’t keep up with them sort of trends you see.
It would of been good to have her on our side though.
They need to start doing unreleased song.
The first 3 system albums would be soooo good. Deftones too

    1. I would settle just for getting I Gotsta get paid, from la futura. Definitely my favorite even though I’ve kind already got it figured out for the most part. Still would be fun.

  7. So in 2018 I made a prediction that the year would end with either the Stones or Aerosmith. (I had my reasons) We got the Stones last year, so it’s about time for Steve, Joe and the boys to make a return. (Oni – calling you out on this one. Magic Touch should be one of the tracks. )

As one of the artists in my most favored list I feel comfortable being able to badmouth this next bunch as well, and with all the hell they’ve caused, they deserve it. Any VH release in video game form could be a mess. As shown in that crap they delivered with Guitar Hero: VH and the following attempt to remove Michael Anthony from their history, whatever these goofballs are up to now, can’t be in the best interest of the fans. (Yeah I know you can’t please everyone.) At lease they should acknowledge their “WHOLE HISTORY”. VH has great songs with Dave, they have great songs with Sam, and there’s a few decent ones with Gary. With all the continued drama and the storied history, it would be difficult to look at a VH pack that is less than 6 – 10 songs as being good, and we know that many in a pack is unlikely. (I say this as whatever pack that shows up should represent all 4 recorded versions of the band.) The pack should be what VH should do in a farewell concert. Have representation from all 4 bands and then ride off into the sunset.

On to the next one. ZZ Top, please step up to the front of the class. It’s about time.

Here’s a few other suggestions, just to add more confusion.

A Rocket tends to go up and then come down. Def Leppard
Get Up for the Down Stroke – Parliament (yeah that might piss some folks off as end of the year DLC)
Get up offa that thang with James Brown
Since Elliott referenced a wheel a few times in the “possibilities” how about a Wheel in the Sky. Journey

    Just reachin’

    1. I have been on record about my annoyance at the lack of late80s-mid90s Aerosmith. While toys in the Attic is absolutely the best album (uncle salty and big ten inch would be nice), that eta is there best and most consistent. Tracks like Deuces are Wild, walk on water, Eat the Rich, Love in an Elevator , shut up & Dance, Angel, Line Up (I think is the track w/Lenny Kravitz), among a dozen or more other tracks are all good, fun worthy inclusions in the game. I can but request them once.

Psst if your picking something with awesome bass from an artist we don’t have knowing it will make people crazy (unlike another primus pack) how about something off of Zillotron or maybe from Cornbugs. Although I’m actually impressed we have as many tracks with with James Jamerson as we do though, not that we aren’t missing a bunch of my first choices.
