Speculation: Rocksmith Newsletter Hints at November DLC

Greetings, Rocksmith fans!

As the weather gets colder, rainier, and more bipolar (figuratively and literally), especially here in Cleveland, November ushers in to bring us another well-anticipated month of Rocksmith DLC, and just in time for the latest newsletter!

“A Precious Stone”

Pearl Jam – Even Flow

Does this signify Pearl Jam‘s long-awaited return to Rocksmith? Or maybe Neil Diamond, or perhaps this well-known gem from Guitar Hero III:

Kaiser Chiefs – Ruby

Elliott‘s hoping for this:

Rancid – Ruby Soho

“A weird Jam”

At first, I had absolutely no idea what this could mean, until I looked at this lyric from Ziggy Stardust:

Ziggy played guitar, jamming good with Weird and Gilly

I think it might be safe to assume this is what the newsletter meant.

Confirmed

“Something Joyous!”

This might be wishful thinking, but I sincerely hope for:

Joy Division – Love Will Tear Us Apart

Hey, they’re on Rock Band, why not on Rocksmith?

Or maybe…

The Joy Formidable – Whirring

So, Rocksmith fans, are you hopeful this holiday season will be filled with as much awesomeness as last year’s? What do you think the newsletter is suggesting? Leave a comment below, and have a fulfilling month!

    1. This is one of the things I really like about Rocksmith-introducing music to the masses. I’d heard of the Black Keys but never heard their music until Rocksmith. With what’s been released so far, I’m enjoying what they have to offer. Have since acquired a cd and watched them on Austin City Limits.

While I’m still hoping for a miracle from what remains of the Top 40 requests list, I can deal with the Black Keys.

      Not bad.

  1. I immediately thought of the Seals and Crofts song “Diamond Girl” for the first phrase.
Their hints are not usually literal lyrics, though…

  2. Next week is rancid? Ugh, i like ska but not rancid (from what I’ve heard of them) i was hoping if they ever released ska it would be reel big fish! hoping its a mix ska pack if it’s not confirmed yet!

  3. My dream for November would be November Rain 😀 I know it’s not going to happen, but we already have a lot of songs I never thought would come, so who knows 🙂

  4. Sorry if that last post pegs me as a plaid flannel wearing grunge guy…guilty as charged! I hear my wardrobe is almost back in style.

  5. I honestly can’t say anything new. We are speculating, but I am not going to believe pearl jam nirvana Stone Temple Pilots rumors until I see it. Oh axe grinder nailed my sentiment almost perfectly. I would like the cult as well but I find that limiting Pearl Jam to 3 tracks off their first album is narrow, I would love so many songs off their later stuff. Spin the black circle, smile, up in my tree, no way, glorified g, animal…et stinkin’ cetera. Nirvana would be cool and Joyous. A wierd Jam…pearl jam would be a wierd jam. Stone Temple Pilots…that temple made of stone would be precious…especially if it flies…and can be piloted…damn, I guess I can speculate.

  6. If it’s a pearl jam pack … I will actually be happy and promise not to post anything negative for the rest of the year!!!!!

        1. I have, I view them more as pop-punk, borderline ska-punk. I’m ready for some real punk like the Sex Pistols and Black Flag.

I mean, Armstrong writes songs for people like Pink and Gwen Stafani. That says enough

          1. Out Come The Wolves is a punk album, doesn’t matter what Tim did for th- *holds back vomit* The Transplants.

Playing your instruments well doesn’t make you less punk. Would rather have Dead Kennedys or Minor Threat over Sex Pistols.

            Also insert “fk Greg Ginn”

          2. Any punk band is better than the sex pistols. All image and no talent. I’d much rather have more from The Clash, especially their punkier stuff. Just put Give em Enough Rope on Rocksmith already!

  7. Yes please…I would love I am Evil. That would give me my Metallica fix. Why not go for bands that were clearly influences of the ones we can’t get?

  8. I understand that there are artists that are extremely hard to get to agree to Rocksmith tracks : Metallica, Zepplin, Pink Floyd etc. So my question is, why doesn’t Ubisoft concentrate on licensing packs from the numerous great artists that are already in Rocksmith? STP pack Rob/white Zombie pack, Alice Cooper pack Nirvana pack, Stones big 12 pack and so on. Not to mention second packs by many others. Judas Priest 2 comes to mind : Helion/Electric Eye, Hell bent for leather, You got another thing coming, Ram it down and Metal Meltdown Please 🙂

  9. Before it was figured out that weird jam was for Ziggy, I thought we might be getting Green Jelly of 3 little pigs fame lol

  10. Okay, just throwing this out there as usual. I mean we often mirror Rockband right?

    Something Joyous ……………….. JUMP.

  11. I talked to the guys from Rancid (their management company) about 6 months and can confirm they said they would be interested – I told Dan but I doubt it went anywhere.

  12. A Precious Stone

Rosetta Stone? Or should i say Rosetta StonED? Almost impossible but hey, Never say never (and Pearl Jam too). (Rosetta Stoned, Lateralus, 10,000 Days, Ænima, The Pot)

    Something Joyous

I’m with you on Joy Division. We need them. (Transmission, Dead Souls, Shadowplay, Love Will Tear Us Apart, Isolation)

  13. I like the earlier suggestion of Ruby Tuesday by the Rolling Stones because it would match the clue as a song and as a group.

  14. I put my last bit of hope in the Halloween pack, and that was a mess. They will probably give us a 10 pack from Jewel..

  15. Precious Stone:
+ Emerald (Thin Lizzy, Mastodon did a great cover of it too)
+ Diamonds and Rust (Joan Baez, covered by Judas Priest great live version on Unleashed In The East)
+ Lucy In The Sky With Diamond (The Beetles)
    + Diamond Dust (Jeff Beck)
+ Diamond In The Witch House (Mastodon)
+ Ol' Diamondback Sturgeon (Fisherman's Chronicles, Pt. 3) (Primus)
+ Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pink Floyd)

    Something Joyous:
    + I'm So Glad (Cream)
+ Sea of Joy (Blind Faith)
    + Happy Jack (The Who)

    Weird Jam:
    + Freeway Jam (Jeff Beck)

    1. Jewel could also fit the bill, shes a very talented guitarist, but this forum would implode if they released a Jewel pack 😛

  16. i think that last week dlc will be the only buy for this month ill wait till december and really hopping something good for the 25 dec

  17. maybe offspring? aint when you have offspring its something to be joyous about? and it upbeat etc…prob reaching but it would be nice to get another three pack at least from them(if we were to get offspring ,pearl jam and nirvana in the same month my head would explode)

  18. “Something Joyous”

    Could You Be Loved
    One Love
and for some of you out there the start of the first verse in “Easy Skanking” could result in something joyous.

    1. Excuse me while I light my spliff!! If we get Bob I would lose my shit!! Redemption song please!! We need an acoustic pack!!

  19. The “Precious Stone” hits on 2 levels leaning toward Pearl Jam. The name of the band and one of their guitar players.

      1. Yeah, that was a good call. And if Ubisoft repeats that great streak of DLC that ended last year, Nirvana would seem a likely choice.

        1. If we get Pearl Jam and Nirvana in the same month that would be akin to winning the Rocksmith DLC lottery for me! I’d be happy to buy that ticket, take my money now!
