Creedence Clearwater Revival and Iron Butterfly headed to Rocksmith!

We hope you are enjoying the Bass Content and the Patch Update for Rocksmith! Ubisoft is hoping you kept some spare cash for next week though, as next week’s DLC release looks to be a must buy!

Our first hint came on Thursday afternoon, check it!

A San Francisco based jazz label? You mean like Fantasy Records? Any band names stand out on that Wikipedia page, maybe a little band called Creedence Clearwater Revival! Our Google Tactics of typing in crude tablature revealed the song to be none other than Born on the Bayou

Next up was one of the most difficult puzzles to solve since The Police back in April.

Talk about a generic bass line… Guesses ranged from Hotel California to American Pie until Rocksmith revealed a second hint to help us solve this difficult puzzle.

After that we narrowed it down to a few choices:

  • Hotel California – The Eagles

Bass came in way too soon and doesn’t have any bass breaks near the end.

  • American Pie – Don McClean

Has a bass break, but there’s only one, and it’s far longer than those pictured.

  • Bat Out of Hell – Meatloaf

Song is too long and varied for the sections pictured to make sense

  • In a Gadda Da Vida – Iron Butterfly

There is the drum break, four iterations of the riff, a keyboard break, and then a few final notes.

So even though we aren’t completely sure that it’s Iron Butterfly’s “Inna Gadda Da Vida,” we think it’s a safe enough bet to lock it in for next week.

There’s still one more song to be revealed however so be sure to come back on Monday when we find out the third song for Rocksmith’s 8/21 DLC release!

  1. The singer had drunk a gallon of cheapo wine before recording this tune; it was supposed to be "In a Garden Of Eden". Damn baby boomer hippies!
