Hello Bachsmith fans!

We were told that something joyous was on the way and it definitely is in the form of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony!

Yes, it’s the return of Bachsmith with five more tracks arranged by the talented notetracking team at @UbisoftStudioSF!

The hints that @DanAmrich posted today all point towards five quotes from five different movies.

all things being equal I’d rather be in Philadelphia

holy mother of jesus she’s a man i went to second base with a damn frenchman”

It obviously doesn’t do any good to pull your heads off in front of people if they can’t see you

No, Rayette, it’s not a question of sides. It’s a question of musical integrity.

Time that was, time shall be, but waste it not, ere it waste thee.

What are you hoping to see join “Ode To Joy” on Tuesday? Are you excited for Bachsmith II? Let us know!

  1. I made a comment a few weeks ago about too much punk but this is awesome!!!!! and I agree with everyone above (That was positive about this weeks DLC!!!! This is only second time they put out a classical music DLC!!!! come on!!!! AND at least 1 Christmas track!!!!! AWESOME!!!!! So even though I criticized the Pop-Punk this is a redemption!!!!!! Thank you Thank you Thank You!!!!!

  2. I love Rondo alla turca…so nice. I would like Jazz as well…that would be ok…but I think I am looking forward to some grungesmith. Bring it! How about some funksmith. Ok I am out for now. I have enough dlc for a couple years now…whatever is fine. This will be cool.

  3. The Funeral March might be as close as we’ll get to AC/DC for now – Bach in Black.

I am very excited to check out these arrangements – I’m still learning a ton from Bachsmith I!!!

And I also can’t wait for the day that we see Jazzsmith, too!

  4. They did a good really good job choosing but the taste they gave it too was horrible 4 3 of them fugue was the best 1 and it was the one with less change on it

  5. Now they’re just plain old greedy. Can’t miss 5 pack. Can’t argue that these are some sweet selections. I wish they would have a sight reading lesson update…cause that would be cool if we could use a staff instead of tabs for these songs…right?

    1. It’s worth noting that Rocksmith 2014 was designed to help people play guitar, but it was not the goal of the project to teach people to read music. It’s like criticizing a car for not being able to fly like a plane. Yeah, it’s got an engine, but that’s not what it was designed to do.

We’re well aware of how we can expand Rocksmith in the future. Maybe someday, we can address this, but it won’t be something we try to bolt on as DLC to an experience with a very different focus and goal.

I don’t see how putting out DLC makes us greedy any more than the audience saying “we’d like to see more Bachsmith” makes them greedy. If memory serves, it placed very highly in the 2014 DLC poll on this very site.

      1. I think Daves “greedy” comment might have been a kind of compliment, kinda like just take my money I gotta have this pack. If so count me in to. I hope we keep getting Bachsmiths. Along the line of classics, any chance of FolkSmith? Id love some Whiskey before breakfast, The Girl I left behind me, Bill Cheatem, Lark in the Morning, Gallopede, Old Joe Clark.

        1. also, would it be possible to note track Chris Thile’s mandolin parts in Nickle Creek to the guitar? I know you guys have done it with other instruments

      2. And I’m SO glad rocksmith was designed the way it was because it was having to read music that put me off learning guitar decades ago (well, that and the fact that I really wanted a bass instead of the guitar I was given, lol). Thanks to rocksmith I can just enjoy playing without having to read music or memorize songs.

    1. How about you actually wait till the songs are revealed and able to be listened to before saying theyre garbage. Your post has zero creditability, proves you just hate for the sake of hating ( and making an a$$ out of yourself) lol

    2. OK. Now you’ve crossed the line. I have lost all the little respect i had for you. Seriously! It’s classic music turned into rock! How can you not like that?! And since they’re not out yet, so you cannot judge them because you do not know what they’ll sound like. Seriously dude, open your mind a little bit to new music.

      1. Classical music please… Why don’t u 3 put on some lipstick and go blow someone… Classical music please!!… This is rocksmith not wuss smith!

        1. There’s nothing wussy about having a refined musical palate. I’m fine with you disliking most packs that get released, but why do you always make personal attacks at people in the comments section? Stuff like this is why almost everybody on here has permanently discredited your opinions.

          1. Don’t really care .. It’s America right???…not North Korea … But then again most of you guys act like Ubisoft is Kim Jong-un…. Agreeing with every pack that comes out.. Give me a break and call most of these pack what they are..crap!!

            1. If you play guitar as well as you express yourself in these comments, Bachsmith will be out of your league anyway buddy.

              1. Pahahahha – I have to agree – stop sucking Ubi ass – & loving everything – suplicating isn’t cool – its weak & thats just not rock GRrrrrr.

                  1. Woooah! ok… I think I must be the only female on this forum judging by the amount of homophobia. & the Cult thing ……….. that is just to far !!! & I am not your m8 because you sound like a moron.

                    1. Grow up. You diss what everyone else likes and then cry when someone disses what you like? and the only homophobic thing I see in this conversation was what pj-10 said and you agreed with them.. think before you speak.

                    2. Judging by the way you write:
                      Pj-10 has discovered your E-mail
                      You are Pj-10’s sister
Pj-10 changed his E-mail and username to sound like there is actually another person who supports him.

                      I’m guessing it’s the latter.

Also, just because you don’t like it does not mean that everybody should not like it. Learn that

                    3. Interesting hypothesis – But sadly I don’t give a flying f@#k who likes what etc, and I doubt you could possibly comprehend how anyone’s opinion on my opinion is of any relevance to me. But in the interests of comedy value – keep up the – I love this weeks dlc

            2. And because it’s America you’re also perfectly free to go outside and walk down main street shouting to everyone you pass about how classical music is for homosexuals (using more colorful language than I’m using here of course), but I’m guessing you don’t do that, so why don’t you kindly take the same approach here?

            3. Occasionally a pack is crap (like brand new and all time low imo) but rocksmith has to try to cater to everyone. I think classical music is awesome so I guess I’ll have to put on some lipstick and find someone to blow, lol.

            4. Seems whenever someone says something unpopular and gets called out for it, they fall back on “it’s a free country.”

You are absolutely free to express your opinion in America. Others are free to challenge it. It’s expected that you will stand by your convictions and even explain them in more detail, but they will be questioned or disagreed with. Your freedom of expression should not be confused with an assurance of agreement for that expression.

  6. I love this, a pack of beautifully composed songs reimagined for play on electric guitar and bass and for little cost! Would never listen to these on my own tbh but I’m down to learn to play these on guitar!

      1. That sucks. VH are saying yes to pushing buttons on a plastic guitar, but no to learning the music for real.

  7. I’m not as excited as others here. I bought the first Bachsmith pack, but didn’t really get into it. Not sure if I’ll get this one.

  8. I am buying this for sure. I hope one of the songs is Requiem in D Minor, just because it is sampled in Human Sadness by Julian Casablancas and the Voidz.

Debussy would be good too. And the Bach Cello Suites Prelude for Bass. Let’s make it actual Bach-smith.

  9. Makes sense we would get this after the past few months of DLC. Their finally too broke to pay any artist for rights
