OXM’s latest issue contains an article on Ubisoft’s Rocksmith which dropped a few new artists on the table. Artists such as: Neil Young, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Incubus, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, and Rage Against The Machine.
Metal fans should also take note that OXM is reporting that “the soundtrack.. is almost purely alternative and classic rock.”
Perhaps DLC will take care of the metal for Rocksmith along with the hopes and dreams of Bass Guitarists everywhere.

Alot of people might not buy the game simply due to the fact that some if not majority of this music has already been seen in past Music games. These songs are nothing new…..
The fact that the game doesn't require masters opens up the song selection a lot. It may be the same artists but that doesn't mean it's going to be the same songs…

The heavy skew of artists seen in music games(except for Titus Andronicus) makes me think it's gonna also be SONGS we've seen before.
