Rocksmith 2014 DLC 10/14 – The White Stripes

Greetings Rocksmith fans!

You asked for it, and you got it. It’s a five pack from The White Stripes!

Featuring tracks from Icky Thump, You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do What You’re Told), Elephant, Seven Nation Army and The Hardest Button To Button, White Blood Cells, Fell In Love With A Girl, and Get Behind Me Satan with Blue Orchid.

Bassists beware, there are two tracks this week that have no arrangement for you. Surprisingly Seven Nation Army is not one of them!

Jarred McAdams explains:

There is a bass arrangement for Seven Nation Army – we just tracked the pitch shifted guitar as a bass chart. The rhythm chart is essentially the same part as the bass, with the pitch shift effect (single note only), and the lead chart is the full authentic guitar arrangement as recorded, in open A tuning.

  1. I wonder if there will be a week dedicated to bassists, like some more funk and soul…
(Crossing fingers for Earth Wind and Fire)

    1. this would be very cool

but there are some excellent tracks you can download singularly like What’s Going On and The Thrill is Gone

  2. after one month of nearly nothing for me except one Sublime song, i’m really enjoying some Audioslave and now White Stripes.. will there be a third week in a row that I like much as this!!??

(just to say, if it’s not in your tastes, be patient!)

and the question that makes people angry : will SCEE screw it once again this week??

  3. I’m excited to try to open A and these songs are hard to resist even if you think they are easy. I mean really whats the difference between a popular Zeppelin song and this stuff

  4. Oh, I was just playing sixteen saltines thinking to myself how much I wanted more white stripes… Thought today’s tuesday and low and behold… I’m seriously in heaven right now

  5. no, not for me, but there seem to be quite a few happy fans so I’m not going to rain on that. I shall just wait and hope there is something reasonably challenging in the Bass department next week. It’s been a while.

  6. About time! Great choice in terms of easy to learn but difficult to master. White (like Homme) has progressed guitaring for our generation and the more these artist styles are made accessible to people the greater the chances of some young kid right now building on their technique and pushing the solo where it needs to evolve to. Go ubisoft.

    1. I like how you name drop Homme as if everyone is gonna know who that is….only the cool kids know J Ho.

      1. HaHa! glad to know i’m a cool kid! 😀
but, what kind of kid I am, if i know Kyuss too?
(cause i suppose most people know him from QOTSA..) 😉

          1. nope.. i wasn’t even aware he released something!
Thanks, I’ll give it a try..
Last thing I have listen from him/them was the Vista Chino’s album. Some good songs in it, but not as good as old Kyuss.

  7. A pack for 8.97$ ? Yeah ! (Not gonna buy the full pack cause 2 songs don’t have bass arrangement). What am I gonna do with 2 song in my library that I can’t play ?

  8. Man, I love the White Stripes, but I’m a little disappointed in this pack. There’s a lot of their “big hits” (which I completely get as far as marketing to the masses goes), but a lot of this will be a snoozefest on guitar. White’s got some great solos on a ton of other popular tracks, and even slower stuff like Dead Leaves is more fun to play than FiLwaG.

It’s still a good, well-rounded pack, and it’ll do well for those looking for simpler tunes to learn all the way through (FelFiLwaG must be in the top 3 easiest RS songs). I’ll just be content with a five pack in general instead of nitpicking track picks.

  9. Spoiler alert: playing Seven Nation Army on bass is really simple , first song I learnt. I think it speaks volumes of Jack White that he did not just pick up a bass and play it instead opting for a pitchshifted guitar and slide. Sad no Dead Leaves but Hardest Button is pretty solid second choice

      1. These “saving for next game” theories never ever pan out, friend… It’s a comment as old as time on the Rock Band forums.

  10. While these are all songs that’ll make people buy the pack, I would have picked 1/5 of those, had I had the option. These are the obvious picks, and I will buy it, but I’m rather sad, dissatisfied?, with these picks, I want Jack’s bluesy solos, almost none of that is in this pack. I want Ball + Biscuit, Catch Hell Blues, Hello Operator, Dead Leafs, and Black Math

That being said, I will buy these, and I will enjoy them, they are, mostly, brilliant songs

    1. I agree. At least mix up the difficulty and venture into some different genres. C’mon Rocksmith! Guitar game but no Ball and Biscuit????

      1. Ball and Biscuit is a really strange omission to me, it’s a guitar game for christ sake.

But again, you can’t really argue with the picks, those are some quality songs.

    2. Ya was hoping for Dead Leaves, but had completely forgotten about Black Math, that would have been perfect….well if you and everyone else that like them buy this pack, Ubisoft will see that there is plenty of money to be made with a second pack.

      1. The thing that gets me, is that this pack really doesn’t have anything that shows just how good Jack White is… Sure, his keen sense of melody is present, but something that showcases his absolute brilliance on the guitar, would have been preferred, namely Ball + Biscuit

  11. Well, I’m in for Seven Nation Army. If I ever get a guitar I’ll go back for the rest.

The pitch shifted guitar really sounds better as a bass anyway.

  12. I’m glad they put you don’t know what love is. Love that song and it’s got a nice little solo. The rest is what I expected but I didn’t know 7 nation army was in open a, makes sense. Excitied about this pack.
