Rocksmith Remastered DLC 10/29/2019 “The Zombies”

Hello Rocksmith fans!

This week @Rocksmithgame raises the dead with a pack from recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, @TheZombiesMusic!

Over the weekend we learned that for the first time since DJ Hero Time of the Season (Odessy and Oracle – 1968) would appear in a music game! We also found out (via social media) that She’s Not There (Begin Here – 1964) would be included as well. Finally, (as predicted and confirmed by Xbox NZ) the third song of the pack is indeed, Tell Her No (Self Titled – 1965).

Aside from the Beatles and perhaps the Beach Boys, no mid-’60s rock group wrote melodies as gorgeous as those of the Zombies. Dominated by Colin Blunstone‘s breathy vocals, choral backup harmonies, and Rod Argent‘s shining jazz- and classical-influenced organ and piano, the band sounded utterly unique for its era. Indeed, the Zombies‘ material — penned by either Argent or guitarist Chris White, with unexpected shifts from major to minor keys — was perhaps too adventurous for the singles market. To this day, they’re known primarily for their three big hit singles, “She’s Not There” (1964), “Tell Her No” (1965), and “Time of the Season” (1969). Most listeners remain unaware that the group maintained a remarkably high quality of work for several years.

  1. Not my bag, the songs picked lack interesting guitar work so I’m curious to see how the transposition have been done. Tenuous link to Halloween doesn’t interest me much either, I was really hoping for some classic 80s gothic rock which needs more representation in the DLC.

      1. Yeah the charts look fairly interesting, I like the look of the lead runs even though they’re beyond my current ability. The music still does absolutely nothing for me 😀 I still think a nice goth rock pack would have been a more tempting proposition.

  2. I’m very cool with the Zombies. I was really hoping for something more, well, Halloween like. The old monster songs would have been cool. Monster Mash, Flying Purple People Eater, etc. Or a pack from thrash band Helloween, who made an extended song named, ironically, Halloween. Anyway, thanks for a good pack. Time of the season is a long time favorite.

  3. I’ll be getting Time of the Season, but not sure about the rest.

Hope we continue to get better packs – at least until advanced exercises vol 2 comes out next month – lol

  4. Also I can no longer seem to up or down vote on comments, it keeps telling me I need to be logged in but I don’t see where to do so on my screen, any help please?
