Song Speculation: Alabama Shakes close off June Rocksmith DLC

Hello Rocksmith fans!

Today’s clue was posted and solved pretty fast and we have a brand new artist headed to Rocksmith!

Let’s check out RollingStone222’s clue!

Good eye!

What about the numbers?

What song?

I’m thinking you’re right…

Well done, and a FOUR pack? Awesome!

@Alabama_Shakes is a relatively new woman-led band (2009) that plays Blues rock, Southern rock, and soul. They have only appeared once before in music games via Rock Band 4

You may have also heard them from one of our more controversial articles…

What other songs do we expect to see in this four pack? Here’s some safe bets…

What follows is speculation

Being on an Oscar nominated movie soundtrack doesn’t hurt

Based on the Rock Band 4 licensing

Really hoping for this one!

Are you excited for this brand new addition to Rocksmith? Or is this not your cuppa tea… Let us know!

  1. Never heard of them, but WOW. Her voice gives me goose bumps. Buying the pack for sure, no matter what’s in it. Also buying all of their albums right now…

  2. Gimme all your Alabama Shake’s song!
My setlist of this pack is:
Future People (oh god please) the bass and guitars in this one is powefull!
    Gimme All your Love
    Hold On
Rise To The Sun (it’s a single so…)

  3. I had never heard of them but after listening to these video’s (thanks Riff Repeater), I’m really looking forward to this pack.

  4. “Blues rock, Southern rock, and soul.” Meh. Doesn’t sound interesting to me. I guess I’ll listen to Hold On though.

4 minutes later: HOW HAVE I NOT HEARD THIS AMAZING BAND?!

  5. Daaaaaaamn how have i missed these guysgirl She has one of the best modern vocals ive heard in awhile Reminds me of the heavy meets southern rock Im hoping for at least one slow nina somone tuesdays gone gype ballad where tgey really lean into it. Im def picking up the dlc and adding them to my spotify. More female singers please , this is fantastic, great job ubi . Was looking at the posted controversial article , i could totally go for some more paramore which i think is coming , also alantis morsette be amazing and i personally would love some guano apes and in this moment , i used to sell strings to the drummer and his dad that was in a local cover band lol

    1. I went back an re-read that post as well. Guess we can now cross Alabama Shakes and Jefferson Airplane off that list.

Hope to see the Dixie Chicks and Lauryn Hill make it some day.

  6. I miss when Guitar World/Guitar One would do a summer Blues issue. To counter that, I’ve noticed a pleasant trend in the DLC released around this time over the past few years. Somewhere in the May-July time frame we tend to get some nice soulful music. (Bill Withers, Blues Pack, James Brown, Hall n Oates, etc).

I first heard Alabama Shakes while accidentally flipping past Austin City Limits. I saw this lady with a white Gibson SG and thought, Whoa, is she going to sing some Sister Rosetta Tharpe? Was pleasantly surprised by what came out. Heard them again at the Grammy Awards and then went to get Sound & Color (A very nice CD).

As this year has shown, Ubisoft is really adding some interesting flavors to the gumbo.

….so now uh… since we’re on the subject of Alabama, can we get some Alabama, or (again) Brad Paisley.
