Song Speculation: Beach Boys bring Surf Rock back to Rocksmith

Hello Rocksmith fans!

Surfs up again as we can see from today’s solved clue from RollingStone222!

Let’s check it out, shall we?

It’s a GIF! You know what that means

The pictures are hinting at Yoga Positions

Password: ParamahansaYogananda

A lot of people figured this one out!

Yup!

In case you never heard the song (seriously?)

This is the second Beach Boys song EVER licensed for a music game (I don’t care about Singstar, sorry).

What other three songs will join @TheBeachBoys? Here’s some ideas

What follows is speculation

Could this be the debut of Link Wray in Rocksmith? Could we get a second Death Grips song in the span of two months? I hope so!

@OsagaTheGreat is hoping for this Tarantino sampled Surf jam

@pcgamingisted is hoping for this 1963 classic

Is anyone familiar with The Emperors?

So there you have it, June will kick off with Surf Rock II, with @TheBeachBoys making their Rocksmith debut! Are you excited to hit the waves or would you rather stay dry. Let us know!

  1. Forgot that I’d heard that Link Wray song before. (never knew who played it). Too bad that didn’t make the pack.

  2. Awesome timing on more surf guitar Rocksmith DLC! I recently requested the following surf guitar music:

Pipeline (The Chantays. It must be the original by The Chantays!)
    Penetration (The Pyramids)
    Mr. Moto (The Bel Airs)
    California Sun (The Rivieras)
Ghost Rider in the Sky (Duane Eddy)
Ghost Rider in the Sky (Dick Dale)
    Nitro (Dick Dale)
Rumble at Waikiki (The Looney Tunes)
    Swanlake (The Looney Tunes)
    Rescue at Mavericks (The Torquays)
    Bombora (The Atlantics)
    Surf Rider (The Lively Ones)
    Apache (The Shadows)
    Man of Mystery (The Shadows)
    Dark Eyes (The Phantom Surfers)
    Rumble (Link Wray)
    Rebel Rouser (Duane Eddy)
    Varykino Snow (The Mermen)
    Curve (The Mermen)
    Dawn Patrol (The Eliminators)
    Johnny’s Noseride (The Eliminators)
    Point Zero (The Atlantics)
    Surf’s Up (The Atlantics)
    Space Mosquito (Los Straitjackets)

Can’t wait for the second surf guitar DLC. And the third. And the fourth…

      1. Thanks! Totally stoked about this DLC pack!

Pipeline was the first song I plucked out on the electric guitar. A cheap LP Special copy… A Hondo with p90’s.

My top 2 requests in this genre are included in the DLC! And the other was kind of expected as it gained new fans and popularity from a certain 90’s film, not unlike what happened with Misirlou. I never would have expected The Beach Boys to be included in “surf rock”… Although I think they were a great band with some good songs. When it comes to surf guitar music, I’ll take all four and ask for more! Looking forward to playing these! Thank you very much, Rocksmith team!

    1. You’re getting some of these. The other songs are:
      The Pyramids – Penetration
      The Chantays – Pipeline
The Lively Ones – Surf Rider

  3. Anyone else think that it’s weird that they’re all wearing long-sleeved plaid workshirts to carry a surfboard..?

  4. Beach boys!?! Wha wha whaaaaat! Cant wait for more surf tracks, i love the trr picks and also will say bird is the word would be a good pick.

  5. Sorry to say that the only things I know about them are they were popular in the 60s, are a surprisingly well respected band by many music artists whom I didn’t think would care, and The Fat Boys employed them to sing backup on a remake that I’d previously thought the Beach Boys originally sang.

Guess I’ll be learning about them here.

  6. I loved the first Surf Pack and this one looks like it should be just as good. If I were more tech savvy I would connect the clip from Teen Wolf where he says “These waves are mine”.

Maybe this will be our chance to get “Having an Average Weekend” by Shadowy Men On a Shadowy Planet (from one of the greatest Canadian shows of all time).
