We still weren’t sure how to unlock the GIF but then of course who came along?

FonsoQ with the answer!

McHenry

Why McHenry? @DanAmrich explains

At first I suggested a deep dive into the history of the song, but realized that would be uninteresting for people outside the U.S. Then Jason and I got to talking about how America’s national anthem is one of the most hilariously misterpreted songs ever; people sing it and have no idea what they are singing, and just go with the closest phonetic thing they can think of. So we compiled all those misheard lyrics, and made McHenry the password since the original song was written about a battle at Fort McHenry.

Awesome, and guess what song is confirmed?

We always love more Boston right?

What other songs should be included in a pack themed around the USA? I have a few thoughts…

Finally Neil Young in Rocksmith! /sarcasm

what you gonna do BROTHER?

Classic

ohhh yeah

What songs are you hoping to see next week? Let us know!

  1. Grateful Dead – US Blues or maybe Liberty.

During the July 4th Fare Thee Well show last year US Blues was played in Chicago while the Empire State Building light show was synchronized. It’s practically a second National Anthem at this point.

  2. Stars and stripes of corruption – Dead Kennedys
Fuck the USA – The Exploited
Bored of the USA – The Clash

  3. The onlly 2 songs that could dig Ubisoft out of the giant hole of bad dlc are
Bruce Springsteen – Born in the USA
Jimmy Hendrix – star spangled banner

    1. Lololololol…… The only two, huh? The wait is over folks…..the big reveal: PJ’s a Springsteen fan.

  4. Adjusting my list to add a few.

Again, I’m surprised no one has mentioned Don McClean as we hear that nearly every 4th.

    Additions:
Funkadelic – One Nation Under a Groove
    John Mellencamp – Pink Houses

James Brown – Living In America
    Alabama – 40 Hour Week
John Mellencamp – R.O.C.K. in the USA
2 Live Crew – Banned in the USA
Brad Paisley – American Saturday Night

Also, I read where Dan hinted that there may be a surprise. For that reason, I’ll throw in

    VH – Jump

      1. Actually, following up on my previous post, I think we may be getting the Brooks & Dunn song.

The thing I don’t get is that a search for “only in america creed” and “only in america brooks” both turn up a Rocksmith listing, however the Creed song is actually titled In America (without the “only”; I realized this after I made my last post).

I tried searching “in america creed” but it doesn’t work, so we might not be getting the Creed song after all.

      2. That screen doesn’t look familiar. I’m guessing this is a search conducted on the PS3, correct?

  5. @Elliott re: Neil Young

This keeps confusing me. America is surely the continent, of which north America is a part, within which the USA and Canada both are countries?

    1. Anyone with a globe will also note that there’s a third country in north america as well despite what the UN says. Lol

    2. It’s always been my understanding being a Canadian that “America” is more of a concept. They are the United States of America but their sense of patriotism has made the phrase “America” represent them and not the three other countries in the continent.

  6. 4th of July by Soundgarden would be nice…and hate all you want on this one but I like America by Imagine Dragons that would be smooth. Livin in America by Morris Day was it? Remember from Rocky 3…that’d be sweet too.

  7. Liberty by Steve Vai anyone? Off the same Passion & Warfare album as For The Love Of God….I know it’s a short track but it’s awesome and the more instrumentals the better in my opinion….

Top if my wishlist would be American Nightmare by The Misfits but that’s unlikely….Does it have to be USA or patriotic themed or could it be something off the wall like Yankee Rose by DLR?

  8. Rocksmith is getting a Boston song… \o/ … buts its the national anthem and not something off of their first album… -_-

      1. its one of the greatest albums of all time. Would love to have the rest of the album as a pack. “Smokin’!”

    1. it seems dated now of course, but in the 80s the whole sci fi/ fantasy thing was pretty big and you’ll see similar art work on many albums of the time. Boston even used space ship props at most of their concerts.

  9. Lol for neil young , im no american but if a horse with no name , suite madame blue , star spangled Banner , plus lol team america , nah rock in a free world that would be awesome still no attach for the last one

    1. I second Suite Madame Blue, good stuff from the early days of Styx, before the robot that shall not be named.

  10. Which Way to America by Living Colour would be nice. Great solo, and they deserve more songs in the game.

  11. I’m surprised you all haven’t mentioned Don McClean.

Also, think of all of those songs you hear during the 4th of July fireworks/laser shows.

Living In America – James Brown
    40 Hour Week – Alabama
R.O.C.K. in the USA – John Mellencamp
Banned in the USA – 2Live Crew
American Saturday Night – Brad Paisley

  12. Will we have a bunch of non-American Commies complaining about the DLC? I bet PJ-10 isn’t an American. Anyways, I’m picking Neil Young’s Rocking In The Free World.

      1. Sounds like a good time to revive that classic category from MTV’s Remote Control – Dead or Canadian.
