Speculation: Bullet For My Valentine debuts on Rocksmith 2014

Hello Rocksmith fans! Next week’s DLC has been revealed and it is definitely on the Top 40 Requested List, although we were wrong, and many of you were probably expecting something more dire.

Oh well, though it looks like a few of you were right!

42 of you folks to be exact, as next week’s DLC is most definitely Bullet For My Valentine!

Let’s take a look at @DanAmrich’s clue shall we?

Confirmed by Dan!

BFMV is a band that is no stranger to music games. Scream Aim Fire appeared on Guitar Hero World Tour (and later on Rock Band)Tears Don’t Fall, and Your Betrayal appeared as Rock Band 3 DLC in May of 2012, Waking The Demon showed up as a DLC single in 2009 for Rock Band 2, and of course their on disc inclusion on the late BandFuse with Tears Don’t Fall.

Not going to lie, aside from making a really stupid vocal video for Scream Aim Fire I have no real affection for this band so your guess is as good as mine to what songs Ubisoft SF has picked (or whether it’s a three, four, or five pack).

I will say though that these dudes are not slouches on Guitar so if you wanted something challenging and not in E Standard, you are probably really happy right now.

Are you excited for MOAR METAL(core)? Or is this the type of metal that you scoff at in your Behemoth shirt as you pass Hot Topic? Let us know!

  1. Can’t believe all the flame wars on here. It really is pathetic. IT’S VIDEO GAME DLC. This band is not really my cup of tea, but they’ve got solid riffs, which is really the biggest deciding factor for me. If I cared at all about singing quality, then I wouldn’t be requesting Slayer songs. This isn’t a karaoke game, this is intended to make you a better guitar player, and songs with challenging guitar parts are going to make you better faster.

On top of that, any band that my wife likes enough to want me to play their songs for her is a winner in my book. Definitely would buy Tears Don’t Fall and Hand of Blood if they’re options.

  2. Hand of Blood
    The Poison
    10 years today

i prefered the poison album after there good but the first one is something really different before is operation

  3. Grow some Balls and listen to some metal Or Cry Some More and listen to your 70’s Shit Ready for some damn Metallica To Rock The Charts. But BFMV Isn’t that bad its a lot better then the weird shit they’ve had its like Dinosaur Shit. Sorry I’m not a old timer or a cocky ass player trying to Impersonate the ‘Legends’

  4. is hearts burst into fire ,all these things i hate (Revolve around you) and The last fight gonna be on the bullet for my Valentine pack?

  5. Can we just take a step back for a second from the argument over why you all hate these guys to appreciate how many Bandfuse artists Rocksmith was able to license? After it went under, I can totally see a bunch of them wanting to back away from this type of game.

      1. Most people also don’t like to have their name attached to a sinking ship, and even though that’s certainly not the case with Rocksmith, it’s one of the theorized reasons that Van Halen won’t license their music to the game (because of their Guitar Hero).

  6. We all know old guys with wifeys don’t like metal, but do they need to keep reminding us every time a metal DLC pack comes out?

        1. Yeah I would totally play this music to end hostage situations I doubt anyone could tolerate this for more than a song

  7. For all those who feel the need to complain, whether it be the “this music sucks” or “I’ve never heard of them so they must not be important” type of whiners, do you all realize how you sound from the other end of the computer?
How many of you I wonder, had parents that “trashed” your Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Beatles, and countless other ‘classic’ bands that we worship today?
Have you not realized a lot of you sound the same? You have become those ‘parent types’ that would shame you for your music choices.
I feel bad for those stuck inside their own musical bubble, unwilling to explore the vast ocean of music.
For me, music (many genres) gives me emotions and feelings I can not feel any other way. There is no greater feeling when you hearing something for the first time that send shivers down your spine.
    Long live music discovery.

    1. I’m 19 and still think this guys suck, not to say that I am narrow minded, as I like both Lamb of God and Foster the People for example, but IMO the problem is that a “BIG TOP 40 BAND” was next week’s dlc, everyone got their hopes a bit too high and this is far from what Slayer or Dire Straits are.

  8. I honestly think its not that bad, I expected this band to be rubbish and boring. It is acctually something new to me and refreshing. As a metalhead all i hear is: “they suck”, “My dead great grandfather sounds better” or ” this is for fags”. The problem with metalcore or emo music, is that it isnt that except for a few bands IMO, the tone it setted for when it started gave it a bad rep. As a metalhead who listens to death metal, thrash, grindcore and black thrash, I can safely say I like this band and people at least we are getting something a bit challenging. Would you rather get a chord heavy song or something which requires a bit more technique? Remember this game was meant to help you learn to play the guitar or improve on skills. Honestly I was hoping for Slayer but I’m glad it’s these guys, so I could open myself up to a new band.

  9. Really loved their “Poison” album, hope there will be songs from this one, but I’ll take any of their other songs whatever it is. Great guitar parts ! 🙂

  10. Ok, Elliot. Maybe glam-death fusion is unfair to death metal. But these guys are indeed hamming to their reflections while trying to play heavy.

Look, the vast majority of us are supremely stoked with the Ubi crew, but this shit is silly. Who the fuck listened to this crap and said, “this sounds legit”?

yes, this style of music appeals to quite a few folks, but this particular band seems to be a product of a producer’s vision as opposed to a group of guys and gals that are actually a band.

These guys make music videos for the uninformed. Do we really need the younger generation so handicapped by off-key singers with poorly-applied eyeliner?

  11. Finally some BFMV, I would like:
    3 pack:
    Scream aim fire
    Waking the demon
    Tears don’t fall
    5 pack:
    Hands of Blood
    your betrayal

  12. Cool to have this DLC! We need all styles in rocksmith. practicing my vocals! Please listen to Gene! And I spotted the suggestion for Behemoth!! very good idea Riffrepeater!!

  13. I personally like most of the Artists in the Top 40 (not all), but I am not going to bash the people or artists that I don’t like. That is just inconsiderate and rude to others.

I requested several of BFMV’s songs, so I am very happy that they are being released.

  14. A lot of people must be happy about this since it’s top 40. Be happy for people getting their turn. They can’t satisfy every single person every week. Not really my kind of music, but some of these do sound fun to play.

Anyone else starting to get a backlog of songs to learn to play? My RS backlog is starting to look like my steam backlog. 😮

    1. Totally agree you.
I’m happy they have songs they like and I’m happy I can save few pennies.
I’ve spent a fortune on dlc including stuff I never play.
(Would gladly even delete some of it just to get rid of it but ah well.)
Not enough blues available though and possibly too much metal. But I can’t have it all my way and all dlc is a good thing to have available no matter if I buy it or not.

  15. I just wasted my money on bad dlc just to hope we get a good song
but I guess I was wrong
but what is with the votes
are you saying that we might not get

  16. Funny how everyone is disgusted at this band. Just accept that every artist added isn’t for you, Get over it and move on. No need to add insults against people that like this kind of music, and not to mention completely bashing a certain genre of music just makes you seem like a narrow minded musician.

    1. I don’t think anyone is disgusted with the fact that this band is getting DLC, it’s the ideology behind it being a “Top 40” requested band. To me that doesn’t really sit right. I can think of plenty of other artists that should be requested more than Bullet for my Valentine. Want a quick list? Here you go:

      Chuck Berry
      Dio
      Johnny Cash
      Deep Purple
      The Who
      The Clash
      The Grateful Dead
      Clapton
      The Doors
      Radiohead
      Sex Pistols
      Velvet Underground
      Ramones
      Cream
      The Yardbirds
      Elvis
      Simon & Garfunkel
      Bruce Springsteen

And that’s all just off the top of my head. There are many I probably left out that aren’t on that top 40 list. You would think some of these would get more requests than BfmV but there ya go.. that’s what bugs me. Not that they’re getting DLC. I really don’t care about that because I can skip buying it.

      1. They aren’t going to make up the top 40 list from guesses, and the numbers don’t lie. Lots of people who use Rocksmith requested them. I am personally shocked they are in the top 40 and Motorhead are not, but there’s nothing I can do about that, if people aren’t requesting one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time there is nothing I can do to change that. I’ve put in my requests, that’s all we can do.

  17. Very disappointed! Horrible “music”, I can see the technical challenges but the vocals are so of putting this is definitely a pass. No skin of my nose though. Just finished my DLC Christmas wish list for my wife and I am already close to $400 in the hole.. 😛

  18. 2nd week in a row of crappy music It should have been dire straits money for nothing not this crappy band I don’t listen to bands that came out after 1995 It’s all crap

  19. Ok. So I watched those clips. It seems someone made a handful of film student shorts and needed a soundtrack made up of technical riffs, amazingly bad vocals, and generally bad songwriting.

I was wrong thinking they were just some generic emo band. These guys, albeit technically proficient, do indeed suck.

Wow. I sort of find myself lamenting blasting all the other glam-death fusion nonsense.

  20. VERY FRUSTARING! The ckue was top 40, expectation with the bigger. But the really is a crap band. I desire didn’t know this garbage clue if top 40! Waiting 12/12 for hendrix

  21. I’m guessing that as we got only a 3 pack for Killswitch Engage, this’ll also be only a 3 pack:
    Scream Aim Fire
    Tears Don’t Fall
    Your Betrayal

  22. Not that there are many BFMV fans here but here are my picks:
    -Tears Don’t Fall
    -Tears Don’t Fall (Part 2)
    -Hearts Burst Into Fire
-All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around You)
    -Your Betrayal

  23. Well I’m excited for this! Should be fun to play. I’m just glad it wasn’t boring qotsa garbage or The Rolling Stones. Dire Straits would be awesome though.

  24. I like them but have kind of grown out of them recently, I haven’t listened to any of their cd’s for a long time now, but it’s good challenging guitar stuff so I’m reasonably pleased, it will be fun to play and is around my level (I think/hope). I still would have preferred any of the others people were suggesting such as Slayer, Dire straits, QOTSA. But not motley crue, they can bugger right off.

  25. Pass for me I’m afraid. I was always surprised to to see BFMV in the to 40 list to be honest. “One of these things is not like the others”.

Still looking forward to Dire Straits at some stage.

    1. Untill today I had know idea who Dire Straits was, so I you tubed them to see what the big deal was. So after listening to a few of their top listed songs I’m wondering why are they on the top 40 as well.

  26. I am quite satisfied with official BFMV DLC. Hopefully a 5 pack is in order(any confirmation?). The songs posted are great choices. Maybe “All These Things I Hate Revolve Around Me”. Love that one.

  27. The vocalist has the vocal range of maybe 5 notes. If I feel generous that is. The guy just sounds so off key in every single song I have heard by the band that it hurts my ears for the 10 seconds before I cover them up or hastily click the X button wherever that may be.

Even if the guitarwork is decent, this is a MASSIVE FRIGGEN SKIP.

  28. I’m okay with this. I don’t listen much to them anymore, but I used to be a big fan in high school, so I’m looking forward to learning some of their songs.

  29. I have been severely disappointed in the dlc selection for the previous two weeks but my disappointment was intensified by this extremely sucky band.

At least Tom Petty & the Foo have talent.

    1. I have been very happy happy with The Foo Fighters and BFMV. I am not a fan of Tom Petty, but I’m not bashing him and his band as both of these bands are very successful and popular to their own group of people. Maybe this week you can get a pack you didn’t get yet or save your money.

  30. I will definitely be buying this pack. I would have been happy with QOTSA, RATM(first album), or Dire Straits, too. But I’m glad to see more of the top 40 making it into the game.

      1. You can’t compare Bullet for my valentine fanbase with Dire Straits’, BFMV fans are usually emo suicide teen retarded people who use facebook to post photos of them cutting their arms, and dire straits fans don’t know how to use computers 😆 😆 😆 There you go, a storm of steriotypes. BFMW is shit though.

        1. Well then I guess all those dad’s sitting on their porches in their faded jeans better get to some computer learnin and requestin’ some Dire Straits ya heard?

          1. Well, last time I checked Dire Straits was on the top 40…
But I’m assuming they are harder to license, as they only had 2 songs on GH ( Money for Nothing and Sultans of Swing) and one on rock band(Walk of Life).

But I’m not angry about it, just disapointed, such a buildup to get THAT…

        2. If dire straits fans don’t know how to use computers, they won’t even bother to try Rocksmith. So no need for a DS pack. 😛

      2. Since when does fanbase = good music? Justin Beiber has one of the biggest fanbases today but it’s all comprised of little teenage girls who wouldn’t know good music if it hit them upside the head.

            1. It does when the conversation is “who got more requests”

Example: I posted about an ultimate-guitar showdown on the Buckethead fan page I run (80,000+ likes) and we were able to decimate Ritchie Blackmore’s fanbase.

              https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/ug_news/ug_showdown_round_1_ritchie_blackmore_vs_buckethead.html?no_takeover

Does this mean Buckethead is BETTER than Ritchie Blackmore? No, it just means that it turns out Buckethead fans are much more willing to go to a website and click on something than the Blackmore fans.

Spoiler: Bucketbots won’t beat Dimebag/Pantera fans.

          1. Using Bieber is the music discussion equivalent of Godwin’s law. When music is discussed for long enough someone will eventually bring up Bieber just as if a discussion goes long enough someone will eventually always brings up Hitler.

        1. I made this point when Facebook likes were trotted out for other bands.

I laugh when I see it used. “But…but…look at how many likes they have.”

You don’t have to use that justification with any other band in that top 40 list.

          1. OP stated “must be the bottom of the Top 40”

Are you denying that BFMV has a huge and vocal fanbase? Because that’s what we are discussing here, not who makes the sounds your brain likes more.

            1. Maybe a good idea then to compare record sales and relative chart positions world wide rather than likes.

Facebook and Twitter marketing bods would love for everyone to equate ‘likes’ and ‘re-tweets’ as an indicator of potential sales, it’s just not the case however.

              1. Yeah I have to agree with this. FB likes is but one aspect of an artist’s fanbase. What about all the old blokes who don’t even have a fb account? You’re telling me the Led Zeppelin page constitutes every fan they have?

Record sales and charts would be way more indicative of how popular one’s music is.

              2. We aren’t talking about who sold more records and who had more hits. We are talking about which fans went to the request app, put in three songs and submitted them.

                  1. Wait – I thought we were talking about FB likes; at least that was your initial argument. Really don’t care as I don’t have a dog in this fight, but that was how you made your case for BFMV popularity. They’re a big pass for me, but I’m not going to complain about it.

      3. Though you coil argue that there are less Dire Straits fans on FB that there are BFMV fans due the age differential.
But I agree people are underestimating this bands popularity.
They feature in the top 40 requests. That should say enough.
I doubt that the over all popularity beats DS though.

  31. If this is top 40 then that means nothing might as well be bottom 40 requested what’s the d8fference. I was hoping for ratm, dire straits even queens of stone age. Let’s hope next week is better

      1. I’m disappointed in people’s music taste it’s like a death row inmate picking sloppy joes for his last meal. I want steak and lobster music

  32. Wow, from Dire Straits to Scorpions to Slayer and then Rage Against the Machine, I would be happy with any of those, instead we get a poser metal band. Still hoping that we get Dire Straits and Slayer on the following weeks though.

    1. I feel the same as you.. but you know what, It could have been even a worst “metal” band : it could have been Linkin park!
