Speculation: Crobot to close out April DLC

Hello Rocksmith fans!

April is coming to a close and with it comes a three pack from @Crobotband!

Let’s check out the notetrack clue which had us stumped until less than a hour ago.

We still couldn’t figure it out so @DanAmrich dropped by with another hint…

A band that Clutch likes and they also like Clutch? Well, this had us listing bands from Against Me! to Superjoint Ritual… In the end it was Jayrocksd that figured it out.

Dan has confirmed it’s a three pack!

What other songs might we expect?

Honestly, this band is so new I have no idea what songs might be included so check out their wikipedia and YouTube channel and let us know what you are hoping to see!

  1. I’m always willing to hear new music but perhaps a slight discount is in order because I’m sure it’s cheaper to license bands like this. Also adding more instrumental tracks from ubisoft to showcase styles might actually teach people guitar which I thought was the point and not become a guitar hero replacement

    1. Got to be honest. I have no idea who these guys are or how popular they may be. Having said that, the discount idea isn’t fair to them.

Every band out there is trying to make money. While this group may not be at the level of The Eagles, Prince, or David Bowe, they don’t deserve to be penalized according to the level of popularity.

  2. Don’t. Understand some of the whiners ..if people only listened to music they ,d heard before we,d all still be banging two rocks together in a cave and only igneous rock non of the new fangled metamorphic rock

  3. Hey Dan, how did this work? Did the band, manager or label approach you guys? Do you get a lot of new bands requesting to be in the game? It seems like a pretty smart move, especially in Y2 of DLC… if sales of this are good will we see more new music?

  4. I’ve heard crobots on Octane many times. I hear the wolfmother vibe from them as well. They will be an excellent addition to rocksmith but I wont buy unless I really like the charts; Not really something I need right away as I have so many other great packs to catch up on still (like Mastodon, Tenacious D)

  5. Kramer and pj, you 2 should make a weekly complainers club. You both talk like Nobody likes the music being released yet I bet you both complain when the other 1 gets music they like; every week someone will be happy and someone will be disapppinted, The world does not revolve around either of you. Seriously, you 2 should just argue between yourselves because we honestly dont give af and dont need 10 whiny comments from each of you when you dont like the dlc.

Also, nobody is sucking anyones teet Kramer, we are just mature enough to let everyone get music they want.

    1. I actually haven’t complained about the DLC in some time now. This is a forum, why is it ok to only have positive reviews? Sometimes I wonder how many of these comments come from Ubi employees, such fanboys

  6. I am just going to buy this because I like the name of the band. I don’t think I care how they sound. ( sounds like it might be good ) I am glad that it wasn’t prince this week…not because I don’t like prince but rather because it keeps me from worrying about the irony of artists dying and getting packs or tracks almost too close to their dday. It inspires conspiratorial ideas…( wonders if prince pack was pulled because of coincidence and this one rushed to replace it )

  7. Not for me thanks. Though i did spend some time listening to some of their music, I will be keeping my hand in my pocket again.

Got a few £ in there now, seeing as the last pack I actually bought was from 38 special. Who incidentally I had also never heard of till that pack was released.

Oh well, I got enough songs to keep me going for a while longer. So if the dlc continues to be not what I like, I could get a new guitar 🙂

  8. I came here thinking that I have no idea who these guys are, but it turns out that they’ve been playing nowhere to hide on my local rock station, and it’s a pretty decent song! I think they even played some shows around here in upstate New York last year. Sounds like fun to me, I’m in!

  9. from the first second on this page i ever heard from them…i buy this blind. right up my alley
(but clutch would be fucking awesome for the future)

  10. That’s possible . And I am sure that constantly crapping on the packs they put out because they aren’t the ones you want is going to guilt Ubisoft into giving you the ones you do. It has worked well so far ?

    1. Not digging at it by any means. You saying it must say a lot for their sound that they are being put in this game is a bit of a joke. I know Ubisoft doesn’t give 2 shits about my opinion, they care about max profit. They may sell less of this pack, but they will turn a quick profit considering it had to be pennies, if any, to license.

      1. If that were true they would put out a new $60 game every year that is always the same old shit. COD, Madden etc.

        1. I’m not sure they sell enough copies to justify the cost of coding a new game, licensing all of the music for the disc, distribution, marketing, etc.. Dlc is very lucrative, haven’t you noticed all of the games with DLC and micro transactions? Do you think these companies release those just to make you happy as a gamer?

  11. That’s possible . And I am sure that constantly crapping on the packs they put out because they aren’t the ones you want is going to guilt Ubisoft into giving you the ones you do. It has worked well so far ?

  12. Way back when I used to have a supervisor who once told me of a time when as a young man he went to see Three Dog Night . And opening for them was an unknown band named Led Zepplin, whose performance put 3DN to shame… Point being, you shouldn’t be so quick to judge a band because they are “unknown”. All great bands start out unknown, and lots never get the notoriety that they deserve. I think the fact that Crobot getting a pack while being relatively obscure says a lot for their sound. I never heard their music before today but I think I like it despite its unfamiliarity.

    1. Them getting a pack says nothing about their sound. It’s says someone in the office is a fan and they probably got the rights for free.

      1. Actually, this band was new to us in the office, and there were no freebies. Hope that clears it up.

        1. You should focus more time on landing quality product than being rocksmiths white knight on the internet Dan

          1. Yeah, why is the Community Developer wasting time on the internet developing community rather than negotiating licensing deals? Good point.

            1. Do you really think Dans only role is developing this community? Come on now, I doubt responding to the 20 people that still talk about this game is his only responsibility.

              1. Do you really think someone that (I’m pretty sure) has no law or licensing background just cold calling Jimmy Page to negotiate song rights is something that happens at a huge multinational corporation?

          2. Possibly. But just imagine if you put half the time into your playing that you do bitching about stuff. You could be the next Hendrix, man.

            1. its not about skill. Companies will continue pumping out mediocre work if you let them. Most of you are too busy sucking Dans teet

              1. wait wait…this is “mediocre” ? call it soulless and pop and manufactured while you are at it lol…
they are rock i dont know them i will buy the pack and i don’t give shit about ‘fuck our customers “radio tower” ubisoft’ (as is their full name btw)

                1. Yes, mediocre. I’ve heard better the radios local stuff weekly hour. I’d bet that hey reached out in regards to getting in the game. I’d bet there wasn’t a single request for it

  13. Not a bad band. Seen them live before and it was pretty good show. Can’t decide whether or not I’ll get any of their songs. I guess I’ll just reserve judgement for Tuesday.

  14. I can’t believe people haven’t heard of these guys. I’ve seen these guys a couple times with The Sword and they are definitely a solid band. Anything from these guys are welcome. 🙂

    1. the sword…the day they will get into rs is the day i’ll need new fingers…but hell i’d be happy !

    1. what was it that you like again? i am seriously asking beacuse i seem to only find you disliking things…i mean i complain A LOT on here too but i do point out if i like sth. (and especially why…why is such a good thing to point out when you voice your opinion)

  15. There’s a reason nobody figured this out,who is this group? Wow I’m sure the RS database was full of requests for these guys. Omg nice to see the developers put your hard earned money to work. What a joke!

    1. I don’t think very many people buy DLC to donate money to Ubisoft to “put the money to work,” they buy DLC to get the songs they’re buying.

Like 95% of DLC is stuff that’s obviously been requested a lot (as hard as it is for some people to accept that stuff they don’t like is still popular), I don’t see what’s so disastrous about mixing it up with obscure stuff once in a while.

  16. Just checked crobot out on utube never heard of them but they sound good any idea of turnings I don’t usually go lower than d standard

  17. It’s makes sense that nobody could guess the riff in the clue. Considering nobody has ever heard of this band or song

  18. They’ve got huge riffs and great tone, so I am excited for any song they have. “Legend of the Spaceborne Killer” sounds really good, so does “Night of the Sacrifice.” “The Necromancer” sounds pretty great too. TBH, I’ll take any song of theirs.

    1. this! i don’t care if i know a band or not but they have a good tone and seem to be playing fun music. i found so many new bands in rocksmith and while i want the “big ones” (acdc sabbath ….) i don’t mind underdogs as long as they play decent fun rock!
(i get pissy if i have to search if there is any guitar in it…other then that i’d take the worlds most unknown band anytime if they rock)
