Speculation: Rocksmith Newsletter hints at December DLC

hello-december

Season’s greetings, Rocksmith fans!

While the Rocksmith team is checking the Facbook request app list twice, the monthly newsletter came out! You know what that means… more potentially blind speculation!

“Something metal”

A skillet is made of some sort of metallic substance, correct?

“Something Joyous”

I think this might be the first time two newsletter hints were satisfied in the same DLC week.

Confirmed

“A Homecoming”

Call me naive, but I have a strong feeling this could mean the long-awaited return of an artist we haven’t seen in a long while. Perhaps… The Rolling Stones?

Or RHCP?

Wishful thinking, I know. Perhaps it could have something to do with the artist or song title?

More of an example than my honest prediction.

very popularly requested artist, based on my observations on the Facebook and Reddit pages.

So, Rocksmith fans, with three weeks of DLC remaining this year, are you looking forward to what the Ubisoft SF team has in store, or does this make you say “Bah Humbug?” Leave a comment, and speculate away!

  1. Sweet I called that shit first lol! Since the home coming is Home sweet home I am hoping for Kickstart my heart, looks that kill, shout at the devil and Saints of LA

    1. C’mon now. Don’t be in here playing around with that. Is this for real? If so, I hope to see the following:

      Home Sweet Home
      Kickstart My Heart
      Dr. Feelgood
      Girls, Girls, Girls
Wild Side or Smokin’ in the Boy’s Room

  2. Is the “homecoming” referring to the STP release on the 22nd? I believe we get a hiatus on the 29th so the folks at RS and Ubisoft can spend the holidays with their family(deservedly so)

  3. So STP is coming Dec 22? I know it wasn’t planned of course, but what a fitting tribute for Scott Weiland. If it is indeed a 6 pack, my guesses:

    Sex Type Thing
    Interstate Love Song
    Plush
    Wicked Garden
    Creep
    Dead and Bloated

How exciting though! One of my favorite 90s bands for sure!

    1. Glad to see STP finally get decent representation on RS. Sad that it happens under these circumstances.

Good track selection you mentioned, however; I’d swap out Dead and Bloated in favor of Still Remains or Pretty Penny just to smooth things out a bit.

  4. Something Metal will be Tenacious D for the 8th
Probably a mixed pack for 15th and Coming Home will be the return o STP on 22nd

  5. Stone Temple Pilots confirmed on the RS Twitter for 12/22. Info released early as they were concerned it might seem like they were trying to cash in on Scott’s death, as the STP DLC has actually been planned for a long time in advance.

    1. Thats awesome; i heard it will be a 6 pack too. Too bad Scott wont see the Rocksmith community enjoying his songs.

  6. Make it a 5 pack with Holiday, Brain Stew, Minority and When September Ends and I will jump on your bandwagon.

  7. I could be all alone in hoping for this, but I’d love Green Day for the homecoming dlc. Everything off American Idiot was good in my opinion, but Homecoming was a favorite.

  8. Something Joyous: Probably is the Skillet/Merrymakers pack.
    Something Metal: —–> Opeth <—–
Mystery Pack: The Mars Volta, Paul Cross hinted at it.
    Homecoming: One Of These:
Coheed And Cambria – Welcome Home
    Pink Floyd: Fletcher Memorial Home
LCD Soundsystem – Home (Not much guitar but i'd enjoy an LCD Pack)
Led Zeppelin – Bring It Home (Yeah as if this would happen)
Or a repeat/full pack from these:
    Radiohead II
    RHCP II
    Tame Impala Pack

    1. I would give all my teeth if it would put zeppelin dlc on the table. A 5 pack with “Bring it on home” (fav zep song) would be 1 hell of a Christmas present.

  9. Homecoming immediately made me think of Motley crue, Home Sweet home. Which would be a good pack. But then I though of Ozzy , Mama I’m coming home .Which would be an awesome pack.

    1. DL is just a biased guess obviously, but they are returning state side for a tour, and the U.S. is the country that was responsible for their commercial success. Seems like a perfect homecoming to me 🙂

        1. man I hope your right, so many great songs to play. I have my favorites for sure but any Motley Crue is an insta-buy for me
