The Police are coming to Rocksmith!

In perhaps the hardest to decode riff teaser yet, Rocksmith’s Facebook page posted this yesterday:

Everyone was stumped! The riff was about as generic as you can get and the clues that Paul Cross and Nao Higo provided us with weren’t helping either.

Finally things began to add up for @RdNetwork as he put Paul’s hints together:

  • … forget the california comment, that’s just not right… Pretty certain they live in America tho
  • at least one green card in the group I think…
  • . well, one of them was actually an American who moved to UK

This all adds up to The Police and even though the riff doesn’t seem to add up to any Synchronicity II TAB we could find online we can only assume the image is from the “Single Note” version or perhaps another alternate guitar part.

While some people remain skeptical we’re going to go ahead and say three songs by The Police are coming to Rocksmith next week! What will the other songs be? We’ll just have to wait, but in the mean time I’ll be watching yo- err let us know which Police songs you want to see in the pack!

…what a humiliating kick in the crotch that we didn’t figure this out sooner

  1. Ughhhh…god, please, no Police! I would even take Linkin Park or Korn before The Police…but if I must pit together a songlist it would have to be:

    Message in a Bottle
    Roxanne
    Every Breath You Take

    But, please, NO POLICE!

  2. "They live in America…"

But the band is disbanded… Also…

Sting owns multiple homes worldwide… (although I think that was one of the clues)

Stewart Copeland (drummer) was from America, moved to England… Currently lives in L.A.

Andy Summers from England… currently lives … ??

Only one I'm certain with is Stewart…

Don't get me wrong… I love the Police, but that clue is bothering me.

  3. I doubt they will, but if they chart the solo at the end of synchronicity I will love them for fucking ever.

And yes, before all you neigh-sayers come in and tell me it was added for GH80s, turn up your fucking volume.
