  1. why so much hate? I love Christmas music, and I’ll get these, they make me feel good. It’s extra to this weeks normal pack, I think that’s pretty cool of the RS team. Wish they could have got us Slade and Wizzard’s Christmas hits, but this will do for now.

  2. Surely DLC comes in two flavours.

Yay! I want it and I am gonna buy it!!!

Meh! Not for me, I am not gonna buy it.

You win some, you lose some!

    1. I think that there should be a third flavour: Meh! not really for me but I’ll buy it anyway because I’m bored and then tell everyone what songs I would have rather been able to buy instead. ?

  3. Man, I was really hoping that they’d be able to get nightmare revisited this Christmas. For those who don’t know, nightmare revisited is The Nightmare Before Christmas songs Redone by various artists And bands In the rock and metal genre

  4. I may pick up joy to the world for that solo, it’s really well done. Other than that this is skip week for me.

  5. It’s always between the same 3 or 4 morons on this site who think their musical standards are so damn special that whenever they don’t get what they want they have to be rude and insult anyone who is getting what they wanted. They have no friends on here but themselves and even then it’s almost impossible that they want the exact same taste in music so when one gets what they want the others will attack their taste in music and maybe they will realize that they have no friends on here and never will, but odds are they will just attack each other cause that’s what they feel they have to do. Some people just love to be hated I guess.

There are plenty of us on here who actually know how to talk about music Dan, let these guys be loners if they so do please.

    1. Woohoo! That’s the spirit !! I love to be hated & I don’t want to be anyone’s freind here, I am not posting comments to socialise. sadly cornflaketurtle we could never be freinds – your musical tastes are polar opposite from my very special ones.

      1. I believe everything you said except for that your tastes are special and that mine are polar opposite;
        1. Everybodies taste in music is unique, you aren’t any more special than the rest of us.
2.The only band you every post about is the cult which is a band I would also want so how are our tastes polar opposite?

Musical taste doesn’t decide whether people can be friends or not, if you had any you’d know that. Now go play and let the adults/ real musicians talk music.

  6. It’s out of the skillet/frying pan and into the fire. – and so the relentless shit storm of seasonal music begins again, with examples from the endless recycling standards of the music industry verbal, musical dihorea, and the conistant torture of catastrophic christmas songs your going to hear every year until you die It’s painfully evident that anyone can make a Christmas record, and probably will continue to forever, you could have spared us this extra pain RS.

    1. This is quite a strong reaction for two singles that you can simply choose not to buy. As for the holiday music onslaught, only the Notecracker Suite from Bachsmith II can even be purchased. Of those three songs, two are indeed considered standards. I have to doubt the amount of holiday damage we’re inflicting here.

But as always, you don’t have to endure any damage you don’t want. Play what makes you happy. Doesn’t sound like this will, so skip them.

    2. Bah humbug.
      Sombody doesn’t like Christmas…..
      We’re you molested by Santa?
Didn’t get the presents you wanted?
      Don’t like the color red?

      Have to admit though.
“christmas songs your going to hear every year until you die”
      That thought is rather depressing.

    1. We have discussed these kinds of songs as basic skill builders — low-hanging fruit that serve the purpose of being achievable goals for new players. They have serious value in that respect. So yes, that’s on our list of ideas for the future — thank you for suggesting it, but we’re already on your wavelength.

  7. Do the proceeds go to any charities? I know this band has done that before.

I like the Joy to the World solo. I’ll probably pick that one up. I’m all set for DLC for a while.

  8. ……. I missed out on the first pack too. Its cool to put these new ones out but I can’t help thinking that maybe they should be a bit cheaper than the regular dlc. I’d buy them for $1.99 each and feel a little Christmas cheer that RS was showing me some love in return for all the $2.99 songs I purchased all year.

    1. No. This was actually just human error. The video was created on an accelerated schedule due to Thanksgiving week only being three workdays, and our usual video editor was out of the office, so it was a detail the new person didn’t catch when using an old template. As really poor luck would have it, the five-song video template they grabbed was Slayer. We didn’t notice until fans pointed it out after it went live.

It’s not intended to be any sort of editorial comment, and hopefully nobody took any offense to what was just a hurried mistake.

  9. wow, nice surprise. I’m not big on xmas music, but this version of “Joy to the World” looks really fun to play. I wonder who put together that solo. Sold

  10. Wow, what is it with the hate? Sheesh.

And yeah – I had Rocksmith 1 on Steam, and I remember seeing the Christmas songs and trying to download them, but there was a problem and the d/l kept failing… and then they weren’t available anymore. Go figure.

  11. Oh my God no, ubisoft realise we are all old enough to know Santa isn’t real and probably not desperate enough to learn this garbage to impress a girl right?
    Grow the fuck up rocksmith
