For those not familiar with @Volbeat, they are a Danish heavy metal band that play a fusion of rock and roll, heavy metal, and rockabilly. They also seem to be a band that people request weekly on facebook!

Curious, are these guys popular? Are they new? Just wondering how they got the nod.
As I’m not hearing anything special apart from a local high school band, I’m just curious what area, or purpose, or void they fill on RS.
Things were a little different last month as we got a speck of country. The month prior we got a small amount of blues. Is this one more of the same as with most of 2015s dlc or is this filling some void–new band, foreign band, etc.? Not dissing them. Just asking.

Alright Bat Wings, I’m gonna help you regulate your thoughts real quick. We’ll come at this two ways.
1) Join the military, become an ambassador for your country, and in the process see what names (musically) come up from people you meet around the world.
2) Because I’m not familiar with this band does not automatically put them in the category of worthless. If you took it that way, bad you as a fan for missing the point. Bad on me for bringing them down more than intended.
As I said, it was not my intent to diss the band. If the high school comment was a little harsh, I apologize. But for those who assume YOUR favorite band absolutely must be world famous (aka known by everyone) because you’re a fan…..OOOPS it doesn’t work that way. Again, just asking who they are.
Are any of your familiar with Loso, Morgan Heritage, Los Lonely Boys, Ukla the Moc, Fred Hammond, Black Uhuru, or Celilio and Kapono? All of them are world famous. Many have even won awards both globally and in the US (Grammy, AMA, etc). If you are unaware, does that place you under the rock with me or are we all just needing a little enlightenment?
For those of you all who came at the question a little more intelligently, Thank You for the update. Been out of country for a while so I don’t have cable radio yet.

Note how no suggestion of a weapon was ever suggested. Note how very few ambassadors are packin heat. Note how much more boring and possibly insulting it would have sounded to say remember what you learned in school then go to those locations and talk music with people.
You learn more by being around people as opposed to pointing a finger from afar.
Forget geography in that statement. Most of us are from somewhere else anyway. War: God’s way of teaching the world your time is almost up.

Are you really comparing a band with rob caggiano (ex guitarist of Anthrax) to a local high school band? They aren’t super popular where I’m from (quebec canada) but I got a couple buddies who are big fans like myself. They play on Octane on Sirius xm quite frequently as well. Anyways, not sure about a void, but they have 1million+ fb fans and all their videos on YouTube seem to have 1million+ views as well. That’s pretty impressive for a danish rocknroll band. They’ll definitely bring in the cash.
I don’t know how popular these guys are but RS does cater to some very off-beat stuff as of late. I imagine they go after some of these lesser known/popular bands as filler at times. I’m sure it costs time and money to license just popular stuff so they need a break every now and then.
I think you will find Volbeat is requested daily on all avenues for Rocksmith 2014.

Would like to see Doc Holiday and Mirror and the Ripper in this one. Both songs have killer riffs. Doc Holiday has a bad ass solo thanks to Rob Caggiano.

Sounds kind of jammin’ but not enough for purchase. It’s not like I don’t have enough DLC to work on already.

This guy is a crooner. Love the sound and I have never heard of em…I suppose I will be buying some cds as well as some tracks…I am glad I heard em, he sounds like Danzig but with a little less Danzig…which I can live with.

Rocksmith tends to cater more to peripheral fans of a band though. They usually just give the radio hits, so I won’t hold my breath for most of these.

I’m not really a Volbeat fan and I wasn’t able to find someone to screenshot the Spotify charts. I really just know that AWC (RB DLC) has a lot of airplay here (Toronto)
To be fair, the song’s mentioned probably aren’t bad guesses. The best songs of theirs are on the first 3 albums, and the albums that a popular in the US, are the latest 2.. I’m hoping for one or two from their early stuff. Fingers crossed.

Actually they have contributed something positive when they enjoyed the content (it’s been awhile since). there’s nothing wrong with being disappointed week after week and voicing it on here. Hope you continue to visit.
I’m not familiar with these guys, and not really that into what I’m hearing on the youtube videos above, but that’s okay. After the last several weeks of great music (imo), I could use a week off. And who knows, maybe I’ll look at the charts and decide it’s worth buying after all. I mean, I’m not PJ-10 or anything!

I had never heard of this band. But that’s Rob Caggiano from Anthrax, this is more Bass oriented, and, also, I kinda dig what I am hearing. I’m gonna get it.

Yeah a band that sings in English and is pretty much entirely influenced by various American acts may as well be mariachi, that doesn’t sound xenophobic at all. The only reason you even know they’re Danish is because this article says so, and you’re clearly oblivious to how many other bands from non-English speaking countries have been popular in English speaking markets throughout the history of music.

True, just an assumption. I imagine a band like this that is trying to gain a fan base is easier to license than a band like AC/DC

Elliott do you think bands that are actively against the use of their songs for commercial value, will pop up in RS, due to the whole learning songs, as opposed to RB/GH
I think a good example of this is Billy Talent but I’m not sure who else might feel the same way besides the obvious choices of Muse and Radiohead (who have far more playable content in RS than RB/GH)
I really like the sweedish scene for modern glam-metal. Crashdïet, Hardcore Superstar and Reckless Love really picks up the pace from the great glam bands of the 80’s very good in my opinion.
Also though Opeth is a death metal band they would provide an awesome dynamic and melodic side to the metal dlc in rocksmith.
Surprisingly, despite all my love of hard rock and metal, Volbeat is just one band I never liked. These guys are very popular, so congrats to those who’ve been wanting this all along; unfortunately, I’ll be skipping this pack.

Been loving the dlc Ubisoft! Got 3/5 packs last month! I’m always happy when we get a 5 pack, especially by a killer band such as Volbeat! 🙂 people who say it sucks because its not their style have to grow up a bit 😛 and this is coming from a 19yo..
