Speculation: Yes, Rage Against The Machine is actually coming to Rocksmith 2014

Greetings Rocksmith fans!

Ok, this time for real. It’s actually Rage Against The Machine, they are actually coming to Rocksmith 2014.

You may have recalled this post, where we were told Rocksmith was getting a @RATM song, and this one (in April) when Xbox Live cruelly teased us, but this time it’s happening.

@DanAmrich has confirmed it and with Jimi Hendrix coming on December 16th, it appears that Rocksmith has given us five Top 40 Artist Requests in a ROW!

  1. Foo Fighters
  2. Bullet For My Valentine
  3. Bon Jovi
  4. Rage Against The Machine
  5. Jimi Hendrix

You already know the songs we want, so let us know what you are hoping to see in the comments below.

  1. “Blablabla two word are censored, f*ck off Ubisoft, I quit, you win Internet”

You’re here for playin guitar tracks or for bitchin about the lyrics ?

    1. if its just for guitar then why are you playing you can use tabs its the same…

i can read that you very well understand what i wanted to bring…

  2. simple as building a tower without a solid base we just go forth and its gonna fall somedays.. but not today , the best we could do is to patch those failure , by letting it down and let other in denial?

  3. I want Renegades of Funk to be the seventh song… Along with
    Bulls
    Killing
    Bombtrack
    Sleep Now
    Testify
    Guerilla Radio

  4. Killing in the Name
    Bulls on Parade
    Guerrilla Radio
    Renegades of Funk
    Testify
    Sleep Now in the Fire

How I Could Just Kill a Man or No Shelter as possibilities too

  5. Given 6 pack confirmed, my prediction is now (still an AORB one):
    Killing in the Name
    Bombtrack
    Bulls on Parade
    Testify
    Sleep Now in the Fire
    Guerilla Radio

  6. New information. Let’s go with

    Bulls
    Killing
    Bombtrack
    Sleep Now
    Testify
    Guerilla Radio
(and Maggie’s Farm and Renegades of Funk)

  7. Hey Elliott u should put a poll with 15 options in all the speculations, I like to read all the comments and see what songs we want but it will be awesome if we have a fresh poll every week to compare with the final dlc.

  8. Okay, since you guys know I’m the big RATM fan on here, it’s time to show my predictions:

    Bulls On Parade
Killing In The Name (Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me!)
    Sleep Now In The Fire
    Testify
    Guerrilla Radio
    No Shelter

  9. Oh, one more note. I didn’t buy RS to learn how to Rap or Sing. (I think Rock Band is still out there for those going that route) If the language is censored, no problem. Just don’t change the guitar, drum, and bass.

  10. “To the Young R to tha E the B to tha E tha L neva give up, just live up”

Ooooh Lawd it’s about freakin time. I don’t curse but this was almost a moment for it. As much as I’ve wanted to see some Reggae and/or Blues on RS2014, I’m satiated for a moment.

Ubisoft, hit me five times: the minimum->
Guerill-lil-lil-lil-la Radio (ya’ll don’t know nuthin about Grape Ape…had to toss that out there)
    Bulls On Parade
    Bombtrack
    Killing in the Name
    Mic Check

Anything less would be uncivilized, ya heard.

  11. Yeah! Finally! I was waiting for RATM since i knew RS exists!
Now, I just wish we get it on PSN EU with the shortest delay…

Radio edit or not, I’m really waiting for “Killing in the name”, even if i have learn it from tab already. I can’t wait to play it with the RS tone..
I think that pack could be in good position for “best pack of the year” poll..

  12. Now we just need Tool and some more blues (yes I know an odd combo) and I will be permanently on guitar cloud 9 🙂 Bring on the RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! …… Just realized, I think this is the first time absolutely no one is complaining LOL!!!! Score one for the DLC crew at Rocksmith 😀

    1. Don’t know if this counts as a complaint or not—> Wait until the Track List is announced. Do have to agree though. This is the first time in a while I haven’t seen any complaints other than issues over the lyrics.

  13. They should avoid the f songs because it sounds silly to have censored versions I’m surprised RAtm even agrees to have edited versions because they are against censorship in general

    1. Rocksmith is a guitar teaching game first and foremost. Surely you can live with a little censoring. If you don’t like it listen to an uncensored version elsewhere.

      1. even if im not their best fan , censoring lyrics kills the mods of a song . I’m not sayin this because im a 14 years old who love to swear but in Killing in the name if give a plus . if you want to be censord for some little letters in lines that in whole ensemble give a word and you dont like this word and dont like what it means then just dont listen ( same answer i give you but inverse one ) i just cant believe a word impact its been over 20 000 years and more and more and still we cannot accept a word , but we say it almost everyones in every situation . for me its like being controlled . you should punished ppl threatening with word not someone saying i dont give a fuck or a little fuck you i wont do what you tell me

      1. There is plenty of precedent for game DLCs being allowed more mature content than the base game, provided they cost money (and thus have some form of age gate involved). First one that comes to mind is the M-rated blood and gore graphics pack for a T-rated Total War: Shogun 2. For Rocksmith in particular, they already display the disclaimer that music downloads are not rated by the ESRB.

So if we get censored songs, it is Ubisoft deciding they want to reach more of an audience, not the ESRB mandating it.

        1. Rock Band did the same thing and the ratings never exceeded Teen. We had some “f-bombs” in the past but once Rocksmith was released worldwide they had to go back and put in the radio edits.

Words get censored but Guitar and Bass does not 🙂

          1. Well, at the end of the day, that’s what we’re playing the game for in the first place, right? It’s like, sure you can beg and whine about getting a Tool 3-pack and not a 5-pack, (no fingers pointed at people in the forum) but at the end of the day, you’re still gonna buy it. Because any Tool is good! And just because we have RATM’s most recognizable songs censored doesn’t change the fact that WE have those songs ready to play on command whenever we should feel. Not the time to really be nitpicky, considering we have been receiving top 40 artists for the past 5 weeks with absolutely no sign of stopping there. Props to Dan and the whole team at Studio SF. We appreciate what you’ve been putting out.

  14. RS are pouring out good DLC weekly, which is really stupid IMO. I mean its not bad that they are listening to their fans and their demands but what happens when the next rocksmith comes out? Although I do expect they have been preparing for the next RS in game songs, since they left out big songs in a few packs like: Chop suey, all along the watch tower, some more nirvana probably, even flow, peace sells etc. But my question is what about the next games DLC? if RS is going to splash out all their money on DLC songs now.

    1. Dude, there’s tons of good music out there. They could release 20 songs a week for ten years and barely make a dent. They gotta keep us hungry so we pay premium price. Oh well, it’s a great product, but It just seems like they are missing out on future customers by not releasing enough variety for different people’s tastes and some people will eventually lose interest. People would buy almost every song of the bands they love. Just not enough money in it for them and most of us are broke. Anyway, it Sucks. But we got RATM, so I’m happy for a while! Wish they didn’t mess with our minds when they said Nirvana was coming out before summer and then take a giant dump on us. Maybe they’re going broke, but it seems like this game can’t fail. Maybe they can afford to shit on us. Sorry, got on a rant.

      1. I’m sorry about the harsh words. I just get passionate about this game. It’s more than the best video game ever. When something’s this awesome, you still start to take it for granted after a while. Thanks Rocksmith and Theriffrepeater for keeping us going on this crazy, fun trip through the nether regions of infinity. Peace, out

    2. RS makes a way higher margin on DLC sales than game sales. That’s why they want to release enticing content for us. That being said, there’s no shortage of good music out there. I find it hard to believe they’ll ever run out of 50 or so songs to put into the next game and then the next game. It’ll be alright.

    1. All this happiness is going down hard on tuesday due to censorship. I can’t imagine hits like “killing in the name” without swearing, so we’re probably not getting them (or worse, get radio edited crap). I predict sad faces next week.

        1. “Forget you I won’t do what you tell me!” … Unless you tell me not to curse, in which case, consider it done! “Monkey Fighter!! Hngh!!”
          -RATM The TV Edit

  15. Freedommm! Yeah right!

Would be nice to see at least one of their lesser played tracks like No Shelter or that song from the Godzilla soundtrack. Ghost of Old Tom Joad would be fun although a bit repetitive (original version, not the remastered one from their cover song album). Zapata’s Blood would be hilariously awesome but I doubt they’ll be veering off the Top 40 path. Heck, after getting fooled the first time a track pack was leaked and subsequently debunked, I’ll take any RATM I can get. Just not Renegades of Funk cuz that song sucks, haha.

Here’s to hoping Santa stuffs a few Xbox cards in my stocking cuz I’m seriously falling behind with all this kick ass shit they’ve been releasing lately and Hendrix is just around the corner too.

    Keep it coming, Ubisoft!

  16. Are we getting any more December DLC after Hendrix? I know the team takes time off for the holidays, but I can’t remember if there’s one more week of DLC or if we’re cut off at the 16th.

If there’s one week left, I hope to God Dire Straits fills it. I know we can’t put too much faith into Paul’s tweets, but the way he stated that one made it seem like a sure thing, and I’ve been growing anxious over the last few weeks while foolishly assuming they’re coming because he said so a few months ago (again, I know it isn’t guaranteed especially so far ahead of time).

I’ll gladly take some RATM, but I’ll be sitting on pins and needles until the next DLC pack after Hendrix gets teased. There are plenty of bands I won’t mind seeing announced, but none I was so convinced were coming. I did it to myself, fucking idiot.

    1. Unfortunately, per Dan, Dire Straits won’t be adding to the DLC fun any time soon… This is his post on the Ubi Forums–

“BTW, we have approached Dire Straits (and hundreds of other artists) and we do not currently have their permission to include them in the game. Same goes for Metallica, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and pretty much every other very popular or influential rock band you can think of.”

I’m devastated. Mark Knopfler is one of my favorite lyrical guitarists and I was so excited with Paul’s tweet saying they’d be part of the party. Hopefully there is some movement, soon.

      1. Actually, I really never have heard of them until I started playing RS1 and heard people begging for them. I’ll try them out.

  17. totally happy, can’t wait, REALLY hoping it’s a 5 and not a 3 pack! But even a 3 pack will be great. 🙂

  18. I’m going to predict Guerrilla Radio, Killing in the Name, and Bulls on Parade for sure, with some combination of Bombtrack, Wake Up, Know Your Enemy, Testify, and Sleep Now in the Fire, and Down Rodeo as the other 2, with at least one being new to music games (Wake Up and Bombtrack would be my preferences I guess)..

  19. I’m going for the all AORB prediction:
    Killing in the Name
    Bombtrack
    Bulls on Parade
    Testify
    Sleep Now in the Fire

  20. Yeah finally 😀
Well Killing In The Name and Bulls on Parade are a must, I’m guessing Bombtrack and Sleep Now On Fire, and for the final song, hum let’s say Take The Power Back cos I wanna slap dat bass

  21. Rocksmith is really delivering with the DLC. I’m really excited about this one! My picks are:

    Bulls on Parade
    Down Rodeo
    Killing in the Name
    People of the Sun
    Guerrilla Radio

  22. I would like freedom, guerrilla radio, killing in the name, testify and tire me so excited to get this pack. Perfect climate to release since every major American city has protests. Take the power back
