Today’s Rocksmith 2014 DLC is incredibly BRUTAL. As revealed earlier this week by @_BrendonSmall himself, Dethklok is finally here on Rocksmith 2014!
The Dethklok Song Pack features three songs all in C Standard featuring Lead/Rhythm/Bass on each track. All songs are from The Dethalbum, so you should be familiar with them.
These songs are not easy, you may be able to master the Riffs on Rhythm and Lead but the sweeps on Awaken and Thunderhorse are going to challenge you a fair bit. Bassists might be in for a bit of a skip week but that’s not to say they aren’t fun to play (you could always play them Murderface style right?)

Not really. From Frank Zappa to the Vandals, tons of great music is satirical. I’m not a fan of his, but there’s a reason Weird Al is so popular. Not to mention Brendon Small is a good musician and songwriter.

Fun pack. Great songs. Would have taken Briefcase Full of Guts or Birthday Dethday over Into the Water. Don’t care much though. They’re all very satisfying to play.
My only gripe is the C Standard. Really wish it could have been in drop C instead. Or if not that, then ANYTHING else. Annoying as hell to have to retune every string just to play 3 songs. Means I probably won’t play these more than once every couple of months. Too bad.

I don’t think you really understood my comment if thats what you took out of it. Any idiot can tune a guitar. It’s no big deal. I was simply stating that tuning can be a tedious process, and it sucks to spend 5 minutes tuning a guitar just to play 10 minutes worth of songs, followed by 5 more minutes to get back to more common tunings. Obviously I weighed that choice and bought them anyway since I said in my comment that I was playing these songs.
Thanks for saving my money this week ubisoft… Must be a reason this cartoon is on late at night…. Nobody with a life watches adult swim..:(

still working on the sweep part in Awaken (only section I can’t seem to get… they don’t feel like sweeps with the skipping of the G string… keeps throwing me off).
the sweeps in Thunderhorse are a little more straightforward and super fun to string together. the riffs in Thunderhorse are way better than any in the other two songs. easily the standout track for me.

Finally some C standard tunes. Hopefully this paves the way for some QOTSA

I just switched from 12s the 9s and re-intonated two weeks ago, dang it! Super hyped for this pack, hope it sells really well and we see a whole bunch more from the world’s greatest cultural force. 😉
I would have liked laser cannon deth sentence and bloodlines to be in it
Shame it’s only three songs, but hey, at least we get some Dethklok at all. I really wanted Murmaider and Laser Cannon Deth Sentence as well, but getting two tracks not previously featured in a music game was a nice surprise.
