We’ve already had singles from Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrdbut this will be the first time the ever controversial Ted Nugent appears in the Rocksmith DLC Library!

What songs could they pick? There’s so many but here is the likely culprits.

Or perhaps Stranglehold?

Or Tuesday’s Gone, or Gimme Three Steps, or I Know A Little or- well, you get the idea..

Or Burn?

Are you excited for a trip back to the 1970s? Are you uncomfortable with giving Ted Nugent money? Let us know!

  1. OK, nice chat and all. WHAT THE HECK ARE THE SONGS?

Oh, and where’s the dinosaur hate from Tina Brown? I’m kinda missing that.

  2. How about a skynyrd 3 pack:
    Simple man
    Gimme back my bullets
    Saturday night special
    That smell
    Ballad of Curtis lowe

  3. maybe i love to much playing guitar, that i want songs that gives mood when you played it not just some barred chord or even chord impossible to play its sounds good.. but it aint meaning nothing

give me any artist and i will give you their best song o play on this game i say that cause i fear , i fear that the artist i loved would be not so well represented . they should have imitate guitar hero just for that put three edition

    Reggea/Funk/RnB
    years 1950 to this date

Rock Alternatif/Pop Rock /everything that comes out from this day ( and there too*)
years 1970 – to this date

hard rock/classic rock / metal…etc —- *this would be where you ll make your money
    years under 1996 to 1966

and they should put 2 dlc per style per week that shouyld be awesome .. but too much to be in this world

      1. just sayin that they shouldve had a 3 pack game , like the 3 i mention up there , and …… forget it im livin in world call my mind where everything is all right and everything is done in a good way i love the game but i wish it could have been more and that is why in my opinion that it might fall like rockband or guitar hero it was great idead but this they should find a way to incorporate drum and everything and well be playin with live band on ethernet making battle . show , and you can upload up to three song of your band like an eponyme … i just wish i get this idea stoled so it could one day see the light

  4. i might get shooted but .. i really would lke to play perfect strangers .. from deep the mood it give , it would be christmas before time with cat scratch fever and tuesday gone or gimme three step

and when they do those pack why did they wont take 2 song per artist this would be amazing and i bet you anything that it would sell anyway cause you’ll have to pick song for ppl.

  5. a conservative rock pack? thanks, but no thank you.. that’s not for me..
I’m on the RATM side… and still waiting for their pack.

but well, for those who like it, have fun.

      1. 🙄 i knew someone would make me notice that Deep Purple are not really conservative.. 🙂 I was more talking about the two others.. but anyway, i’m not to much into that kind of rock..

        1. I’m not into this kind of rock either (“conservative…” eww!). What the hell is Ubisoft thinking, releasing music that some people might not like?

When I hear Cat Scratch Fever or Free Bird, all I can think of is that horrible second amendment (can’t Obama just cross it off or something?) and how every fetus has a “right to free social healthcare” or (something like that– who has time to remember all the ins-and-outs?).

I’m not foolish enough to think that all music is evil or one-sided or conspiring, but I’d show up with gallons of copies of “Double Live Gonzo” and “Second Helping” just to make sure future generations weren’t subjected to their hidden backmasked agendas that could result in more kids growing up into lunatics like the “Motor City Madman” instead of the Al Sharptons and Ed Shultzes that this country desperately deserves.

…because it’s all about playing politics in Rocksmith, right? Forget about that whole playing guitar thing.

          1. Very nice. And as a fairly (gasp!) conservative myself, why would I buy anything from that drug-addled moron Ozzy Osbourne? Well, because War Pigs would rock, that’s why. And you know, Alice Cooper is kind of conservative too, so is there a way we can delete No More Mr. Nice Guy, or get our money back…?

            1. I was under the impression that “No More Mr. Nice Guy” was a song about what happens when you admit you’re a conservative to people who otherwise would have had no idea. Forget what kind of person they thought of you before, now they know you!

Kidding, of course, but maybe that’ll bring a smile to your face next time you listen to the words… or maybe some loon lurking in the comments will stop reading after my last paragraph and think it’s a fact. What could be better?

  6. Yes! Gimme Stranglehold, please! Simple Man is probably my favourite Skynyrd song – I’ll take that one, thank you very much!

As much as Deep Purple was my old man’s favourite band, I honestly have no opinion either way as to what song they’re going to give us for that one because I was never a fan myself. I’ll take Highway Star, I guess?

No matter – Stranglehold and Simple Man would be automatic downloads for me and they could wild card the Deep Purple song for all I care to wrap up a pretty bitchin’ three pack. Can’t wait to see what we get!

  7. Ted Nugent is a nutjob, but he makes decent music. I’m feeling a bit polarized here, but I guess the music is what matters.

    1. That’s a good point, I was more echoing the sentiments of people. I have no problem keeping musical artists and their opinions separate. If you care about my opinion, that is.

      1. I agree. But as an Israeli Wagner was my breaking point and seeing that people have no problem with him but hate Nugent pissed me off.

    2. Wagner isn’t alive to be able to spend your royalty money on a breakfast burito at Chick-fil-a though…

None of the cash for Bachsmith went to that particular loonie tune, just to Rocksmith.

      1. I mean who really cares most of the hair bands in the eighties treated women like dirt and made jokes about gay people getting aids and no one cared. They are not elected officials just entertainers and if they offend you then they are still entertaining you in a different way.

        1. I hear you. And my small protest at not buying his music won’t change his views. He probably already scored a big payday just for the one song before DLC sales.

I have personally drawn the line with this one though. I don’t expect everyone to feel the same way.

  8. Not really hyped about this pack. If it is Simple Man I will probably pick that up. I love that song. Altho I prefer the Deftones cover (yes I am a heretic), but that song is so smooth…

    1. I didn’t know that Lynyrd Skynyrd did “Great While Buffalo” and Deep Purple did “Cat Scratch Fever!”

Or are you saying you’d prefer a Nugent-only pack? lol

    2. How about a 5-pack?

      Staples:
      Stranglehold
      Great White Buffalo

      Pick Three:
      Cat Scratch Fever
      Fred Bear
      Wang Dang Sweet P***tang
      Just What the Doctor Ordered
      Free for All
      Stormtroopin’
Good Friends and a Bottle of Wine
      Little Miss Dangerous
      Hey Baby
      Workin’ Hard, Playin’ Hard
      Dog Eat Dog
      Yank Me, Crank Me
      Motor City Madhouse
      Paralyzed

  9. Really hoping for “Simple Man”. Made the mistake of purchasing BandFuse for access to that one, (as it is listed on this site) only to find it no longer available…

  10. Excellent! Just the kind of pack I was waiting for. Nugent’s Stranglehold is an absolute must for any guitarist. Sick track! I don’t see eye to eye with the man either (I’m liberal and an atheist) but I have enough sense to appreciate good music when I hear it.

I’m guessing Simple Man is the Skynyrd track, which is a great tune as well. Deep Purple is probably Highway Star. Dan confirmed 2/3 tracks during the speculation thread and I think the one that was wrong was Skynyrd’s Tuesday’s Gone. Simple Man is far more likely since it was also recently featured in Bandfuse as DLC.

      1. You don`t have to buy them again. You can play them on the other game too you know. Guess it depends on how lazy/rich you are 😀

      2. Different games my friend. I have Bandfuse as well but I don’t really like the way it plays. I hate that I have to repurchase some songs but I figure I’ll get a lot more out of them from RS.

        1. Youe were happy enough to purchase the original BandFuse DLC, and you will also be happy to grab the `upgraded` RS DLC of the same song. You should not hate it, cause it is not a must that you purchase it again. You might feel cheated as it is somewhat like paying for a patch for something you already own, but that is about it. In any case you are supporting both RS and the artist, both of which are worth supporting if you like their product.

    1. Wow! A Liberal and an Athiest, how original! Wait, let me guess.. You like Nietzche and Marx too!

      Keep it realz, dawkinz 😆

  11. Lol people don’t want to buy Nugent because they don’t want to give him money? Has anyone heard a ton of these other bands with DLC talk? If you listen to a musician talk instead of play you will always hate them 🙂

    1. Fair point, but they aren’t (mostly) outspoken ass*oles. I try to give my money to people who I support as artists, or at the minimum, I try to avoid giving money to people who are idiots and stand in opposition to views I hold. I know not everyone dislikes him and/or his viewpoints, but he rubs me and many people I know the wrong way. There aren’t a whole ton of musicians out there that irk me nearly on the same level.

  12. Ted Nugent DOES NOT give a fuhk if you like him or not….thats what makes him Ted Nugent
    &
    the fact IS;
he can blow the balls off a charging Rhino via a screaming feedback laden lead from a Gibson Byrdland thru a “dimed” Fender Twin Reverb amp

    hopefully its Great White Buffalo
    Gimme Back my Bullets
    & Space Truckin

    😯

  13. Absolutely giving Ted money. After all, he is a true American. Need to just put the entirety of Machine Head on Rocksmith.

  14. Deep Purple need a pack to themselves, as do Skynrd.
But Ted Nugent? Never, no way josé, niet, nein, no! I’d never pay for anything related to him. Unless it was a PPV where he was in a cage with an angry hippo.

  15. Skipping Ted on principal. It looks like Nugent and Rocksmith have something else in common; they both have issues with RATM…

Would love to see ‘Simple Man’ in there, my favourite Skynyrd track.

When a ‘Blind Man Cries’ is one of my favourites off of Machine Head, but a little slow and simple for Rocksmith probably to be worth while. ‘Highway Star’ would have to be a safe pick.

It is a little disappointing that they couldn’t just do a separate pack for each instead of adding a single track to already on disk artists. Oh well, two outa three ain’t bad.

      1. In 2007, Zach de la Rocha of RATM was quoted at the Coachella festival as saying “In this current administration, there is no exception… they should be hung, and tried and shot,”.

        Nugent responded on Hannity & Colmes stating;
“Yes, you know, we disagreed with a lot of administrations in the past, but none of our rhetoric included, you know, threatening lives. These guys are over the top. But they’re lunatic fringe that even your average Democrat liberal doesn’t agree with. But, unfortunately, nobody is silencing these guys, or not necessarily silencing, but condemning this outrageous violence that they’re recommending.”

I’m unfortunately not able to find the original video but the transcript is here:

    1. Is that on a later mix of Machine Head? I have MH on vinyl and CD and have played through them about a billion times and it’s not on any of my copies. I’m not sure I’ve even heard it.

      1. I didn’t realise it was added after ’97. Aparently Ritchie Blackmore didn’t like it even though it was recorded at the original ’71 session.

It was relegated to a B-side until then. Aparently Blackmore wouldn’t even play it live. I love it though.

  16. Kinda Hoping the Skynyrd song is “On The Hunt” “Stranglehold” from the Nuge and I’d love to learn all the little Bass Licks and solo’s in Deep Purples “Highway Star”

  17. I’m thinking:
    Stranglehold
    Highway Star
    Simple Man

Earlier this year, Rocksmith got a fair amount of songs that were on disc or DLC for Bandfuse. Now with Bandfuse long gone, Rocksmith is probably going to get a lot more so Simple Man is pretty much given.

    1. Bandfuse is a great idea, what will become of it? Will Rocksmith do some of the things Bandfuse can do, eventually? Real Mode in Rocksmith!

      1. Rocksmith has Master Mode. I’m not sure how that’s different than Bandfuse’s Real Mode.

I do like the ‘ducking’ feature in Bandfuse, though. And Bandfuse has great guitar tones and tracks what you’re playing better than Rocksmith. Rocksmith still misses a lot of notes even when my playing is spot on. Also, I prefer the traditional tab format, but I’m probably in the minority on that one.

  18. I’d rather pay for a picture of Nugent’s head hanging from a wall than for his dlc.

Skynyrd and Purple (specially Purple) should have their own packs. Shame, rough and putrid shame.

  19. I’ll get Deep Purple almost for sure. Not a fan of Skynyrd, but I might get it depending on the song. And it’s a big pass on Nugent.

  20. I was a Nugent fan years ago until I heard him speak. What a racist dickhole….but one helluva axe man.

Pass on Terrible Ted. Interested to see what DP and Skynard tunes are on tap. Simple Man would be cool because Always Somewhere by the Scorps is the same song and I learned that on guitar in the 80s 🙂

  21. After grinding for the FC on GH drums (when the drums were still new tome), I never wanted to hear Stranglehold again.

Oh well… I doubt I’ll bother trying to learn it unless it’s for a weekly challenge.

I’ll be happy with ANY Deep Purple. Not really a Skynyrd fan but, any single would get a little love from me. Tuesday’s Gone and That Smell would by awesome but, I have a feeling it’ll be Simple Man.

  22. Oh, and yes, I would prefer to not give Ted Nugent any money. If these are released as singles, I’ll skip whatever pick of his gets released, with one exception: Stranglehold. That’s the ONLY exception.

    1. Totally agree on the Nuge being a complete asshat. Although I would add Great White Buffalo as another possible exception (I totally don’t expect that to be the pick – but it is one badass track. All hail the mighty RIFF!)

  23. I know I must be an un cultured swine or something for saying this but I actually don’t like classic rock that much… Although I’ve always had a craving for playing simple man so I’ll download that if the predictions are right!

  24. Really hoping for Highway Star. I’ve wanted that song in Rocksmith pretty much since the first game came out. In any case, I’d probably be down for any of the obvious Deep Purple or Skynyrd picks, with Nugent being a maybe.

  25. Wow, at face value, that could really rock. I cannot get my hopes up too high after that Def Leppard mishap that turned out to be Dylan. My picks would be: Stranglehold, Simple Man, and Lazy (or Space Truckin’). More than one title each would be fab.

  26. I tried guessing the songs, and Dan said that 2 out of 3 of them were correct:

    Stranglehold
    Tuesday’s Gone
    Highway Star

Which one do you think is the wrong one?

    1. I hope it’s your Deep Purple pick. Highway Star is my least favorite song on Machine Head. I’d prefer Simple Man to Tuesday’s gone, but could live with it.

    2. I would bet it’s Stranglehold, Call Me the Breeze, and Highway Star. 🙂 Even if you don’t like Highway Star, it’s got a fun guitar part! I’m guessing Call Me the Breeze for no reason other than JJ Cale’s passing recently. *crosses fingers*
