Hey everyone!

With the weekly DLC flow stopping so the team can focus on Top Secret Music Project, I thought this would be a good time to have a look at previous songs, artists and packs we have in the Rocksmith library. I’ve seen people be surprised an artist got a II pack when they didn’t even know there was a first one! Or not knowing the details of the Variety Packs we’ve had, each with some great singles (remember that Ghost song that randomly appeared?).

To pass the time, I put together a short video focusing on The Cure pack. It’s a great little pack from a fantastic band so check it out! If you don’t want to watch, I’ve put a little summary below the video for y’all.

The Cure Song Pack

The End of the World – Lead: E Standard (A445) / Rhythm: E Standard (A445) / Bass: Drop D (A445)

For me, the bass chart is the standout for this song. It has a great tone, it’s loud and dances around the neck. The other charts are a more standard muted chord affair, although don’t be caught out by this doozy on the Lead chart

Just Like Heaven – Lead: E Standard / Rhythm: E Standard / Bass: E Standard

My favourite of all the songs, and up there for my overall best Cure song in general. Really fun to play on all charts, each one being a completely different beast. Punchy bass, fast rhythm, and a Lead chart that makes you feel good when you nail the riff down and up the neck.

Lovesong – Lead: E Standard / Rhythm: E Standard / Bass: E Standard

Dare I say an iconic bass riff? The Cure definitely don’t shy away from utlising the bass when necessary. The Lead chart mixes it up by including a quick tremolo picked section here and there, and also has a guitar solo that, with a little practice, anyone should be able to nail.

Did you grab The Cure pack back when it came out? Were the songs enough for you, or did it miss that one single you’d been dying to learn? Let us know!

See you next time!
